Day 1214 - Shoesday Tuesday

Irregular Choice Edina
Shoes: Edina | Irregular Choice

Although I bought these a couple of years ago, they are actually from Irregular Choice's AW12 collection, so quite an age now.  They feature this interesting layered, wooden heel, which is the only pair I have in this shape.  I miss these days, when higher, but still manageable, heel heights were in abundance.  I guess I'm in the minority as almost everything now is a mid heel height.

Day 1186 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing SS18 wooden wedge shoes from Irregular Choice with socks
Shoes: Funshine | Irregular Choice

Something very summery today; an older sale buy, originally from Spring/Summer 2018.  These are perfectly named Funshine; such a cheery shoe.  It's a medium weight wooden wedge platform and heel.  I've felt lighter and definitely felt heavier too, but it does feel pretty solid to walk on.  Obviously they are high, there's no denying that, so if you're usually pretty wobbly on higher heels, I'd avoid these as I don't think they are so stable that you'd never fall.  Obviously I haven't properly worn shoes for a year now and I've noticed recently when trying them on for these posts, I'm struggling a bit with comfort, but actually I was fine in these.  No aching arches, no desperation to get them off because they felt too high, so if you do wear heels, you can manage these, just be mindful of uneven surfaces!

Day 1078 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing irregular choice green petrisha shoes
Shoes: Irregular Choice green Petrisha

Aigo, I've been trying to post this for the past few weeks, but it's taken until now to finish. I'm not going to moan about it, I'm really struggling just now and I realise it must be annoying for you too, missing the usual features and putting up with sporadic posting, but unless a miracle happens, there's nothing I can do and I just have to keep trying when I feel able. So back to shoes and I have a full outfit for you again. I had an appointment with the doctor, which was a bit of an episode that truth be told, I can't be bothered typing about (too much drama)!  I struggled with my footwear this day, because it rained on and off (quite torrential) and I realised almost all of my shoe collection (and especially IC's) are suede (or suedette) or made from some colour, finish or trim that I wouldn't want getting ruined in the rain.

Day 976 - Say Something, I'm Giving Up On You

Shoes: 'Gypsy Girl Rose' Dan Sullivan

Ah it's been a busy ol' weekend. Nothing exciting, but lots of eBaying and an attempt to catch up on sleep lost during the week when the builders are knocking about (too loud, shhh). This outfit however is from...last Thursday? I think so, it doesn't really matter anyway. I was reminded of these boots when I was browsing through old posts and although the box is massive (and therefore rather prominent in my room), it's in an awkward place with stuff on top of it, so not the easiest to grab in a hurry. Story of my life with shoe boxes to be honest! I have no patience right now to dive head first into shoe-mountain (never to be seen again), so I feel I do have the same pairs on rotation. My Mum would argue and say she's never seen me in the same shoes twice, but I'll be glad to get them their own room and have the choice of any pair whenever I like. Anyway I detached the knitted cat purse off these boots for this outing and they are really cute even without. Opticians appointment tomorrow, so there will be another outfit on it's way!

Wearing: Teal lace dress G21 at Asda, leggings Primark, cardigan Red Herring at Debenhams, patent belt taken from another dress, vintage cat-eye glasses Jeepers Peepers.
Fit: True to size, lace-up, 5 3/4" heel and 2" platform.
Comfort: No problems.

Day 963 - Don't Leave Me Standing All By Myself

Shoes: Cat Tapestry 'Lita' Jeffrey Campbell

Yesterday it was still a little icy in places as you can see from the photo at the bottom of this post.  So I was wary of wearing skinny heels or anything too high.  It's been nice to have had all these months without the worry of frost and ice, although I have quite a few (almost sensible) boots to see me through the 'bad' period.  I'm afraid my outfit photos are extremely poor, but there was a serious lack of daylight by the time I got dressed and either my camera refused to take the pic or they didn't turn out very well.  Add to that an extremely static dress, which I tried to fix for the photos by adding an underskirt...which was then visible in the photos, which I hadn't realised until it came to uploading them.  Oh it just wasn't my day was it?  However, it was one dicky photo or none at all!  I love the colour of this dress with my hair when it's purple, it's otherwise very difficult to wear when it clashes against my hair colours.  My makeup was popping! I'm not usually one for brown eye makeup, but it looked very sultry and I loved the glossy nude lips (although hate the taste of the Urban Decay lipstick).

Wearing:  Swallow dress New Look, leggings and coat Primark, lace socks Miss Selfridge.
Fit: I bought these from Office so they are EU/UK sized (38/5). Just under 5" heel and 1 3/4" platform.
Comfort: Felt very uncomfortable across my little toe on one foot, for some reason.

Day 951 - And Even Forever Don't Seem Like Long Enough

Shoes: 'Pat's Picnic' Irregular Choice

Hello! You haven't seen these shoes for a while have you? I was searching for more pairs to eBay last week and discovered these, so brought them into an easier to reach place, so I could wear them. I'm trying to bring the winter pairs forward and hide the jellies and sandals for now, but there's not much room and I daren't delve too deep and uncover 8 legged things! Shoe Mountain is looking a little steadier and safer now, although I did have one avalanche mid-sort. The only casualties were a couple of broken nails (did I really think my pinky finger was going to 'catch' 5 heavy toppling boxes?)! I've said it before, but I'll be so glad when I get my shoe room and all my pretties will be easy to access. Anyway, it's definitely winter feeling outside now, like super cold. So I'm most definitely in my coats and sometimes gloves and scarves, brrr.  In saying that, I've only been out a few times in the past fortnight, so wouldn't really know.  These shoes are just a little big and I think they'd be much comfier if they fit better, but I can tell my usual size would've been way too small. Half size would be perfect...isn't that always the way? Oh and the vest! How could I forget? I just loooove this image of Ariel, she's so vulnerable looking with those big eyes, she's just gorgeous. I'm clearly aiming for an entire little mermaid wardrobe if you hadn't already guessed.  My 'Monster High Monday' makeup look is back by the way, you can find it here (yep there's a reason for all that glitter).

Wearing: The Little Mermaid tank top Hot Topic, black pencil skirt, hat and tights Primark, black cardigan Bonmarche.
Fit: Feel quite small, I took a size-up just to be sure. Heel just under 5 1/2" with a 2" platform.
Comfort: Easy to walk in, but not the most comfortable.

Day 947 - Even Judas Knew He Had Lied

Shoes: Red 'Flashing Lights' Irregular Choice

I've got 7 blog posts in differing stages of completion (kid you not) and am so looking forward to sharing them all with you. However, I'm clearly getting stressed with the workload as I've taken to writing a 'list'. This only happens when I have a ton of things to do, purely so I can get that huge wave of satisfaction at ticking or scoring it out as completed. Haha! This outfit is from Wednesday and includes a new dress which features in a haul post (on my to-do list)! I first saw the black-watch tartan one and instantly fell in love with it despite not being a big tartan wearer and feeling a little blase at the vast punk/tartan themed things out there just now. This dress had a collar though and a bow, which we all know I love and it took the dress into my territory. I told myself I need to break free from florals on occasion. My sister however, thinks I look like a mix of ginger Annie, Parisian school girl Madeline, a Scottish 'French maid' (!) or a school pupil from Neighbours or Home & Away. I'm seeing a theme there and it's not entirely good for a 33 year old! That said, I always kinda loved the school uniforms on Australian soaps! The dress is Saint Laurent inspired (and mine 'only' £2530 cheaper than the real deal), so I followed the grungy theme of teaming it with tights and boots as seen on the catwalk. It's a little shorter than I'd usually wear without leggings, but the tights were really opaque. It was super windy when I was out for my walk, so I chose to protect my modesty rather than attempt a shot of my shoes outdoors!  Even the top photo isn't too great, but I liked the reflection of the boots in the door!  Then today I discover this image (bottom) and realise my style hasn't changed one bit since 1984!

Wearing:  Tartan collar dress and tights Primark.
Fit: True to size, lace up front. 4 1/2" heel and 1 1/2" platform.
Comfort: No issues with comfort, just takes a while to get used to the curved sole (similar to Long(er) Lashes boots) and they are quite heavy to lift.

Day 941 - When She Dances, She Moves Me To A Smile

Shoes: Green 'Petrisha' Irregular Choice

I had a complete mental block when it came to remembering the name of these shoes. I had to do some digging through my archives to find them! It's been some time since I wore them, but now that it's turned (bitterly) cold, I'm trying to find heavier shoes like these. I feel like I'm in a bit of a rut shoe-wise currently, permanently rotating the same 'few' pairs. I replaced my winter shoes and boots with summer ones in Spring, but now I really don't want to go to the trouble of switching back. I thought I'd have my shoe room almost sorted by now and recall switching pairs into the wrong boxes because I was exhausted at the time and so now have no idea where anything is. Plus anything that involves 'shoe-mountain' always seems to unearth hidden spiders, so I'm a bit dubious about digging around in there. Unless I want to wear peep toed jellies in the snow though, I'm going to have to! It'll be nice to think that next time the seasons change, I'll have an easier time of it and won't have to do any digging at all. Anyway, I love these shoes even if they aren't the comfiest. The inners are quite scratchy and sometimes my arches ache, but they are so easy to walk in and look ridiculously cool, plus I love that colour.

Wearing: Neon floral dress H By Henry Holland, leggings and cardigan Primark, belt Swan by Clements Ribeiro.
Fit: Small, I needed a size-up. Heel just under 5 1/2" with a 2" platform.
Comfort: A good solid base to walk on.

Day 939 - And They Say That A Hero Can Save Us

Shoes: Floral 'Kim Oh No' Irregular Choice

I've really not had a very good week; my energy levels have just been sapped entirely, so there's not been much in the way of outings and outfits! I forced myself to get dressed yesterday but my heart wasn't in it and I was so tired and lethargic that it was a real struggle. I don't know what's wrong with me, too many early mornings since the work has started on our house perhaps. Three months of that is going to be hell, if I can't even cope after one week! This weekend has been so mild and sunny, it was a pity I didn't get out to enjoy it other than very briefly on Saturday. My hair is getting coloured tomorrow (yipee) which should hopefully give me a wee boost. I was exasperated with it yesterday and had initially tried to wear this scarf as a headband, but decided I wanted it completely covered for going out, so switched to the horse scarf turban instead. I then put on my sunglasses and thought to myself, why have I just wasted half the day getting ready?  When I could've thrown on clothes, put my hair in the turban, the sunnies on and not bothered with makeup-oh I do wonder sometimes!

Wearing: Floral sundress, black vest and leggings all Primark, cardigan Red Herring, patent belt taken from another dress.
Fit: True to size, just over 1" platform and 5" heel.
Comfort: No issues with these.
