Day 1013 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing Irregular Choice Blythe Dice red ankle boots
Shoes: Red Blythe 'Dice' Irregular Choice

Another outfit post for you this week, after a visit to the dentist.  I'm actually glad I have nothing pencilled in for me on the family calendar this week, because I'm exhausted after doctor, dentist and physio appointments over the past fortnight.  Further proof, I'm still struggling with my health (as if I need reminding).

Day 974 - My Life Gets Kinda Boring

Shoes: Red Blythe 'Dice' Irregular Choice

Hola!  Usually I have a good idea of what I want to wear each day and it'll maybe start with a pair of shoes or a dress and then I adjust it depending on the weather, what I'm doing that day etc.  However lately, I've just not been particularly feeling any one thing.  I keep standing there looking at the shoe boxes, swinging the wardrobe doors back and forth and spending far too long contemplating what to wear.  Maybe it's because I haven't been as regular at getting dressed, plus the weather isn't quite so bad that it's dictating 'snow-boots'!  These types of outfits are as casual as I get, a simple dress, leggings and ankle boots.  At the last minute I spied the socks and thought I could include them too! I haven't worn these boots for a while and I don't think I've worn this dress yet despite owning it for some time, so I suppose I made some good decisions on the spot!

Wearing: Blue floral dress and leggings Primark, frilly socks Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop.
Fit: True to size, just over 4 1/4" heel and small concealed platform, lace up.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day 865 - Down Every Road There's Always One More City

Shoes: Green Blythe 'Cookie' Irregular Choice

Yesterday started off fine, then as the day wore on, I got further and further behind with work until...disaster struck! I plugged my camera in to upload photos and to my horror the usb port on my PC fell through the hole inside the computer. Eeek! Thankfully there are two ports, so I used the other one...carefully. I was discussing what to do about it because it would be an absolute disaster if I lost the other port and my sister suggested getting a USB hub and attaching that to the remaining port and working off that. So I went to plug in my phone and what do you know, the whole thing has fallen through, headphone sockets and all! In fairness I'm surprised it's lasted this long, because it's always been a jiggle to get usb's in and out and the whole front is rather flimsy. So I thought my life and blog were over (really), then I remembered there are some spare usb ports in the back of the PC (google might have helped me remember). So I ordered a usb extension cable to use for now and will look into getting a hub to attach to that. I believe Poundland have some, which is cheaper than a new computer! My lead isn't due to come until next week, although it was apparently dispatched at 1.25 this morning (?), so for now I'm heaving the tower in and out when I need to use the usb sockets. The glamorous life of blogging.  As for the shoes...I totally thought I'd worn these already but the immaculate soles suggest otherwise!  They are a half size bigger but are very generous.  What is it with me and too-big shoes lately? think I should take out shares in insoles.

Wearing: Tropical floral dip hem dress Red Herring (Debenhams), cardigan Bonmarche, leggings Primark, Mischief sunglasses Irregular Choice.
Fit: Generous in width and length. 1" platform and 4 3/4" heel, no need to take button out on strap.
Comfort: They are big on me so slipped off my heel a little, but no issues of discomfort.

Day 837 - I'll Blame It On The Weatherman

Shoes: Blue Blythe 'Babi' boot Irregular Choice

After a minor meltdown the day before, yesterday was a much better day (other than wasting my day stalking the Debenhams website for new MAC). My Mum had got some more Henry Holland things from Debenhams for me and I'd tried them and they were either too tight or looked hideous. Yesterday though, I tried them again (with a different bra on) and everything fitted! Just shows you what a difference underwear can make. One of the dresses that fitted both days though was this one, isn't it gorgeous? I've been eyeing it since the new stock came in at the start of the year, desperate for a promotional offer so I could get it. The shops are filled with country & western styles right now and while I would feel a little like I was going to a fancy-dress party if I full-on embraced fringes and denim, this is a cutesy nod to the trend, doing it my way, in my style! The closest thing I could find to cowboy boots were my Blythe boots...it felt appropriate to accessorise with them. On a sidenote, I'm totally digging the new Nashville series on More4 (with Hayden Panettiere) and have gotten really into country music since watching it; I never really appreciated the brilliance of Carrie Underwood until now! Oh and sorry for the dark full-length shot, there wasn't much daylight yesterday-it was miserable.  The mist also turned my hair into a frizz-ball.  Why is weather so cruel in curling your hair if it's straight but straightening curls? Grrr!

Wearing: Navy cowboy print dress H By Henry Holland, suede leggings Primark, hair corsage gift.
Fit: As there's no zip, I bought a size larger for ease getting on and off, the foot is a little big but I don't think my heel would get past the ankle section otherwise. Heel just under 4 1/2".
Comfort: No issues other than they're a struggle to pull off!

Day 797 - I Don't Know The City But It Ain't Home

Shoes: Blue Blythe boot Irregular Choice

This was my outfit yesterday, I didn't get time to finish the post at the time.  I love these boots; I love the Blythe dolly on the sides and the actual style of boot, but I don't think they're the most flattering on me as they kinda hit my leg at it's widest point.  After the hassle of retrieving them from the 'shoe mountain' previous to yesterday; they were getting worn regardless!  Likewise, I love the skirt of the dress, but the top is supposed to be loose fitting I think, but being larger busted and this being a 'boutique' brand dress, I'm surprised it fits at all and so it is a little different to how it would look on the 'correct' size.  It's comfortable anyhow, but again maybe not flattering.  So all in all, not my fave outfit, but I did like my makeup and hair that day, so it's not all negative ; )

Wearing: Print dress Cutie, black belt taken from another dress, leggings and coat Primark, cardigan Bonmarche.
Fit: As there's no zip, I bought a size larger for ease getting on and off, the foot is a little big but I don't think my heel would get past the ankle section otherwise. Heel just under 4 1/2".
Comfort: No issues other than they're a struggle to pull off!

Day 770 - While Dancing We'll Kiss, Like There's No Tomorrow

Shoes: Red Blythe 'Dice' Irregular Choice

You'll have to use your imagination a little with this outfit today.  Dad was in the attic bringing down the Christmas decorations and therefore there are piles of boxes obstructing my view to the mirror, so no full-length pic.  You've seen the dress before though, so it's nothing new.  I'm so excited I get to wear these boots again-I absolutely adore them.  They are comfortable too (very padded underfoot), which is always a bonus.  I had an entirely different outfit in mind for today, then at the last minute this dress and the boots just came together. It was quite icy outside though, so after nearly losing my walking stick a couple of times to icy puddles, I decided the road was safer to walk on!

Wearing: Bird print dress Dorothy Perkins, black leggings, spotty coat and hat all Primark, cardigan Bonmarche.
Fit: True to size, just over 4 1/4" heel and small concealed platform, lace up.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day 745 - We're The Song Inside The Tune

Shoes:  Black Blythe 'Akemi' Irregular Choice

What a difference weather-wise in a day (see my pic at the bottom, although it was much brighter in person-I was glad I wore sunglasses)! We had daylight, no lights on in the house, gorgeous blue skies and it was much warmer than I expected. I was preparing for winter, so it was a nice little surprise, not to have to get wrapped up for one day. I still wore a vest top under this dress and leggings, plus two cardigans for going outside, but I was boiling by the time I got home! I was glad to get to try out a more wintry styling with this dress though. Now these shoes, I bought years ago and haven't worn them outside before. The pom-poms had come loose and so I feared I would lose them and the ankle straps were ridiculously small with the widest hole still far too tight for my ankle. So a few months back, after they'd been sitting waiting for months previous to that, I set about fixing them up. I glued the pom-poms in place and they are now more sturdy than they ever had been and I pierced another hole in the strap, so I could wear the straps if I wanted. I suspect with longer wear the strap at the back will nip the heel as most styles like this do, tights could help, but thankfully for the short period I wore them yesterday, I didn't end up in pain (I already have a rather unsightly scabby heel from another pair of shoes last week). I wouldn't say the shoes are tight, but the fit is neat, there's not much room, but they might stretch a little with wear.

Wearing: Parrot dip hem, maxi-dress Dorothy Perkins, leggings Primark, cardigan Bonmarche.
Fit: Neat fit. Just under 4" heel and small concealed platform.
Comfort: See above, no major issues today.
