Day 1151 - Shoesday Tuesday

feet side by side on wooden floor wearing turquoise hand painted floral wedges with ivory patent uppers and red trim
Shoes: Alaska Irregular Choice

I wasn't going to have a Shoesday post this week as I have a lot on and didn't think I'd manage that as well (I wasn't organised with photos).  However, I was snapping these for 365 Of Irregular Choice on Instagram and quickly popped them on and it turned into enough photos for a post, so here we are.  I've wanted these shoes for ages, any of the painted wedge styles to be honest, I wasn't overly fussed which colour (though y'know me and green or blue options and these do come in blue) and these popped up, but a size too small.  I wondered if I should just get them anyway and either try and swap them for one of the pairs in my size or for something else.  I also secretly hoped they would fit in the smaller size and I'd get to keep them!  Turns out, they do and I can.

Day 1103 - Shoesday Tuesday

Shoes: Gucci zebra Lesley heels

Hello! A brand new pair of shoes for you, that just came into my possession a couple of weeks ago. That's not to say I've just noticed them, they've been firmly on my wishlist since the moment I saw them on the AW16 runway. I spent all last season telling myself it would never be (way outta my price range). Then I saw them on sale, they sold out of my size a couple of times, then by sheer luck, they got one pair back in, a size up. I wasn't sure whether or not to risk it or perhaps I'd even need the size up and that was a sign from the shoe gods!

Day 1038 - Shoesday Tuesday

Shoes: Irregular Choice Tall Tail

A very special Shoesday Tuesday for you this week, featuring absolutely astounding shoes! I can't quite believe I own these, but last week I took the plunge and ordered the Tall Tail unicorn 'extreme' platforms by Irregular Choice (Gold Star) I'd been eyeing all summer. I admit I bought them purely for display purposes (the shoe room needs them) but didn't expect them to be quite so wearable. Yep, you read that correctly, you can actually walk easily in these.

Day 1033 - Shoesday Tuesday

Shoes: Cream floral 'Hello Ha' Irregular Choice

It's not difficult to see why this style quickly found it's way into the Iconic collection, reinvented each season in new prints and patterns.  It's certainly one of my favourites and always seems to come in the prettiest of colours and fabrics.  A few months ago, I showed you the navy pair (and am still not over the original mint ones slipping through my fingers) and I bought this cream version at the same time as the blue.

Day 1028 - Shoesday Tuesday

The other month, I decided to put my money where my mouth was, after mentioning these shoes several times in blog posts.  Most notably, I styled them in The Shoe Girl Styles It here...way back in November last year.

Day 1003 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing ASOS Homework shoes and Meadham Kirchhoff socks
Shoes: ASOS Homework

Ahhhh, don't you miss the crazy old days, when you couldn't predict what weirdness would grace my feet next? I've had these shoes for a couple of months now, but they must've passed me by when they first came out (which is rare) or maybe I was going through a phase of not buying shoes because I had no room and/or money. Hmm, yes, that sounds more familiar. My only excuse is @Asos_Felicity made me do it!

Day 998 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing Irregular Choice cream One Who Charms
Shoes: Cream 'One Who Charms' Irregular Choice

Day 998 and I'm almost running out of new shoes to show.  Or at least those I can access.  I've been photographing in bulk, when I've been feeling up to it but ran out of photos.

Day 982 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing Irregular Choice Tinky Binky
Shoes: Turquoise 'Tinky Binky' Irregular Choice

The one thing I've gone back and forth on with the new format, is would I title these weekly shoe posts as something new or continue on my 'shoe challenge'?

Day 930 - Don't Wish Too Hard, Because They May Come True

Shoes: Cream and black 'Role' River Island Design Forum (Sophia Webster)

I have no idea which day this outfit was from last week, but here it is. I think I've only worn this dress once despite owning it for some time. That's down to it being a little tight (not any longer) rather than me not liking it. I have this image in my head, that I had blonde hair last time I wore it (bleached and ready to colour), but I love it with my hair colour right now. They look perfect together. I almost grabbed my ASOS tapestry Ablaze boots to wear with it until I realised I'd be wearing the same shoes two days running! I saw these open toe boots still sitting out from when I last wore them and decided they would work too. It was actually reasonably warm, so they were a better choice than the other boots anyway.  Oh and I did something different with the full length image today, what do you think? Better?

Wearing: Purple swallow dress New Look, leggings Primark, cardigan (just seen in last image) Swan by Clements Ribeiro.
Fit: True to size, back zip, 4 1/4" heel.
Comfort: Easy to walk in, but the backs will rub on bare legs.

Day 923 - Life's Too Short To Be Sittin' Round Miserable

Shoes: Cream and black 'Role' River Island Design Forum (Sophia Webster)

After bold makeup the day before, I was keen for a fresh, natural look yesterday. For once, I loved everything about this outfit and the hair and makeup. Clothes wise, I'm really trying to wear those items that are full-on summer before it gets any cooler. I think my bare legged days are numbered! Well we have The X-Factor starting this weekend, so that's the countdown to Christmas starting isn't it? Back to my shoes and I knew these would rub the backs of my legs wearing them without socks/tights/leggings, but I love the look of pairing a pretty, girly dress with boots. These have to be one of my all-time favourite pairs of shoes and I sooo called it, way back when, that the lady that designed these would go onto big things. They were part of the design forum collection (designed by fashion students) for River Island and the designer in question was none other than Sophia Webster. She worked under Nicholas Kirkwood until the launch of her own label, which I'm lucky enough to own a pair of (and they are super fabulous I might add). I adore these and would never sell them, I think they sum up my style quite well.

Wearing:  Turquoise floral dress Dorothy Perkins, cardigan Primark, flower hair clip (part of set) ASOS.
Fit: True to size, back zip, 4 1/4" heel.
Comfort: Easy to walk in, but the backs will rub on bare legs.

Day 896 - I Can Get A Free Drink For Flipping My Hair

Shoes: Turquoise floral 'Can't Touch This' Irregular Choice

Yesterday my sister and I went to see the matinee screening of Despicable Me 2. I can't say I was looking forward to it (even although I love the first film), because health wise I've been struggling lately and the slightest little thing has repercussions and sitting for that length of time in one position was never going to be a good thing. Anyway the cinema was busy, I was uncomfortable but the film was good but not amazing. I just wish it was the girls on screen all the time (especially Agnes) because they're all just too cute and I get a bit bored with the minion stuff. Ok, they can be funny, but not quite as hilarious as the Dad sitting behind us thought (he literally laughed every time he saw a minion, like before they even did anything). I stretched these shoes a little in the morning, wearing them around the house with super thick socks, because this style can be quite snug fitting to begin with.  I just love the print and already own this style in other colours, so know how comfortable they can be (these could be better because unfortunately they have the harsh gold lining that I don't like).  I also got to wear my new pretty sundress from Primark and am thankful that I layered it up with vest, cardi, leggings and skirt, because it was rather chilly in the cinema despite the sunshine outside.

Wearing: Floral striped sun-dress, black net skirt (worn underneath), black vest and black leggings Primark, cardigan Bonmarche, orchid hair clips ASOS, red belt gift (Madeira).
Fit: Snug fit at the start, adjustable buckle, 4" perspex heel.
Comfort: I could feel the lining of the strap rubbing, but otherwise no issues.

Day 861 - You’re Kissing Her, When My Head Is Turned

Shoes: Floral 'Abigail's' Party Irregular Choice

Well here is the new hair colour! I didn't have much time for taking photos or getting ready yesterday before I left for the dental hospital, so I'll probably have better pictures later in the week. The flash in the camera isn't portraying an exact colour match but cameras are notorious for picking up bright purple as blue and this is as close as I could get. It's very vivid, perhaps a little lighter and brighter than Cadbury-purple, with sporadic silver streaks. Totally intentional. Not! I like it, I'm not sure if it will wash out quickly though. Here's hoping not, although I wouldn't mind if it went lighter. The dental hospital was a bit of a flop, I was finding out how the problem area had progressed and had completely psyched myself up for surgery. I sat in the chair for literally 30 seconds (and was out before my appointment was even supposed to have started) and she told me it was still bleeding, no improvement, but she has no idea how to get into to it (it's my very back, bottom tooth), so surgery is out of the question. Wha? All the months (well actually a year) of constant visits, all the extra brushes etc I've had to buy and all the painful procedures and now they are happy to leave it to fester because I'm the first person on the planet to get an issue up the back of my mouth? I was part relieved and part angry that had the problem been elsewhere they'd have been straight in there to work out the cause (they've not held back on telling me how serious it is), but are ignoring this because of something that surely someone has encountered and worked around before? They do keep telling me how far back my wisdom tooth is at that side so maybe I do have an unusually large mouth!

Wearing: Cartoon girl dress H By Henry Holland, leggings Primark, pig and rabbit rings Topshop, frog ring Miss Selfridge, flower and frog ring Evans, nude quilted bag Love Moschino, floral comb Yama Yama Pretty Mama.
Fit: My original pair fit fine, my two bunny pairs are a little tight, these are a size larger than I usually take and are a more comfortable fit. Heel just over 4".
Comfort: No issues with these and easy to walk in.

Day 823 - The Women In The Two Black Veils Didn’t Bother To Cry

Shoes: Cream patterned 'Trixxie' Irregular Choice

I got the hiccups today, those entire-body convulsing (sore) ones, every so often. My sister thought it was hilarious. Considering she usually gets them and I make her do this, she egged me on to try drinking a glass of water the wrong way. Her words were "pleeeeease do it, it'll be funny"! This was after she told me something about biting down on a stick in your mouth, to which I looked extremely puzzled and she grabbed my eyeshadow brush and told me to put that in my mouth! So down we trot to the kitchen after the eyeshadow brush method failed and you should note I'd just finished my makeup at this point (bad idea).  Her face was in my face the entire time, as she didn't want to "miss" anything funny! I ended up crying with tears of laughter, hiccuped mid drink and laughed at the same time, spurting water out all over the window (turns out I can spit quite far!) and with water dribbling down my chin, tears on my cheeks, eyeliner and mascara smudged, completely unable to speak or breathe from laughter, I decided enough was enough. The hiccups had actually gone by this point, but we'd been laughing so much we hadn't noticed. I can confirm drinking from a glass the wrong way does cure hiccups, even if it's by laughter rather than the method itself!

Wearing: Red floral, lace collar dress H By Henry Holland, leggings Primark, cardigan Bonmarche, horse scarf White Stuff.
Fit: I bought these a size larger but they run pretty true to size. 4 1/4" heel.
Comfort: I tried them with an insole this time as they are a little large.  They can be quite tricky to walk in because they 'clomp' and you have to walk flat-footed as they are not flexible in any way, which means the process of walking is a bit dis-jointed and difficult.
