Day 1259 - Shoesday Tuesday

Irregular Choice Poker Joker
Shoes: Poker Joker | Irregular Choice

My only shoe buy from the IC summer sale and my third variation of this style (4th of the heel).  Last week, I shared the very beautiful Ava's Aviary birdcage heels from several years back.  The dice heel was first introduced in August 2015, with Poker Joker in two colourways (I bought the sequins ones).  Then three sequins PJ's launched as part of the Bring Back collections in 2021, with a further two pairs released earlier this year.  You may remember I bought a pair, but I was holding out for these ones to go into the sale.

Day 1244 - Shoesday Tuesday

Irregular Choice Glazed And Confused
Shoes: Glazed & Confused | Irregular Choice

Another one from the archives for you today, see Barnacle Betty from last week if you missed those.  This week, ah, another pair I compromised on.  Story of my IC life these past few years.  I wish these had a higher heel.  Sorry, if you're tired of hearing me say it, I'm tired of never getting high enough heels to be honest!  It's actually rare to see genuine high heels at IC now.  They've never been one to follow trends (and actually high platforms and heels are in fashion right now), so if it's fallen out of favour, that shouldn't make a difference to IC.  Maybe I'm in the minority, I don't know, but I only bought these because they were cheap and I otherwise liked the design, but I'm not a fan of my foot feeling almost flat inside.

Day 1186 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing SS18 wooden wedge shoes from Irregular Choice with socks
Shoes: Funshine | Irregular Choice

Something very summery today; an older sale buy, originally from Spring/Summer 2018.  These are perfectly named Funshine; such a cheery shoe.  It's a medium weight wooden wedge platform and heel.  I've felt lighter and definitely felt heavier too, but it does feel pretty solid to walk on.  Obviously they are high, there's no denying that, so if you're usually pretty wobbly on higher heels, I'd avoid these as I don't think they are so stable that you'd never fall.  Obviously I haven't properly worn shoes for a year now and I've noticed recently when trying them on for these posts, I'm struggling a bit with comfort, but actually I was fine in these.  No aching arches, no desperation to get them off because they felt too high, so if you do wear heels, you can manage these, just be mindful of uneven surfaces!

Day 1163 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing floral patent ankle boots with dinosaur heels, wide fishnet tights and metallic socks
Shoes: Irregular Choice Roarsum (by Tomi Platts)

I'm back with another shoe fit review and this is a pair I'll also be reviewing in closer detail on Pink Haired Princess in the near future, so keep an eye out for that.  I did blog the other week over there and explained that I have a new laptop, so I'm struggling with uploading and editing photos and I do feel the colour is 'off' here, but thankfully just of my legs and the background rather than the actual shoes and that's what you're here to see!  So, Tomi designed this colourway of the mega popular Roarsum dino heels.  You probably know I have a pair of the originals (fit review here), in the croc-patent-floral material, so I'll refer back to those in this post, along with the other dino heels that launched last year for Family Reunion, Jurassotops.

Day 1118 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing irregular choice tatsu cut out dragon wedge boots
Shoes: Irregular Choice gold Tatsu

Hello, another week and another new Irregular Choice release! I keep saying it, but this season has just been tremendous so far. I'll be paying my Mum back for all these until Easter, but she knows I'm good for it! I actually spent the weekend eBaying more stuff. I have all these fabulous winter coats I bought before I lost weight and none of them fit now. Mostly unworn too, so getting rid of them will free up space and pay for some of these shoes. I went shopping last week and the clothes in the shops are dire. Absolutely nothing took my fancy, so I'm nowhere near replacing all the stuff I'm getting rid of. I'm still finding more items in my wardrobe that have become too big (don't know why because I haven't lost weight in months-the novelty of being able to eat chocolate and cakes still hasn't worn off since my operation)! So I keep adding to the sale pile, but never buy any new clothes.  I think I prefer shopping online with boutique brands to the stuff on the high street nowadays. At this rate I'll be naked and poor but with pretty shoes on my feet. Hmm, what a thought! I really wasn't feeling up to eBaying and boy did those coats weigh a ton, it was hard, physical work photographing and measuring them, but it's done and hopefully they sell. Anyway, back to the shoes and it's a brand new heel concept, which I'm really excited about.

Day 1021 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing Irregular Choice Roarsum floral dinosaur shoes

A little break from the panda heels, instead we're going prehistoric, with dinosaurs! I was too excited with these new shoes, not to show them this week and actually I barely managed to withhold these photos until today!

Day 964 - Old, But I'm Not That Old

Shoes: Orange and purple heart 'Margar' Georgina Goodman for Luella

The debut of my new wee babies that I've waited years for! You can see my haul post on Pink Haired Princess, if you haven't already. By the way, ignore the lipstick swatches on my hand below-I was trying to not only photograph this post but another one while there was enough light and it meant doing two things at once!  This dress has flashes of peach and lilac, so I thought it would look cute with these shoes and the purple tights too. A bit of purple overload! Which reminds me of this girl I used to know. She helped out at Sunday School and was called Jennifer (who we nicknamed "Purple Jennifer") because every single thing she wore or had was purple. Down to the purple ink in her purple pen and the purple notebook she wrote in. It was kinda scary.  I'm not sure I could ever swear allegiance to one colour to that extent. Could you?

Wearing: Ballerina tea dress Pearl Lowe (Peacocks), purple tights and coat Primark.
Fit: True to size, 4 3/4" heel and just over 1" concealed platform.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day 925 - I Am Swimming In An Ocean All Alone

Shoes: Pink 'Got The Hump' Dan Sullivan

I had the hygienist on Thursday (ooh the excitement), so got 'properly' dressed.  Safe to say these shoes went down a treat and were the topic of much of the conversation (why do they insist on yapping when you've got your mouth full with their hands etc?).  My dentist has just relocated to the local hospital, so I felt all out of sorts in the new environment.  It's so clinical and not at all homely like it used to be.  No doubt I'll get used to it as I seem to be there often enough!  Between blog stuff (ugh to editing photos) and boring home stuff (preparing for renovations on our house), I've been so busy this week and really feel like it's catching up to me.  I've been absolutely shattered and so so tired.  I'm not sleeping very well (not helped that we 'lost' a spider next to my bed a few nights ago), so I feel like I just need some time to chill, but there is no time for that unfortunately!  Anyway Thursday was the last time I got dressed, which is usually an indication my life is getting stressy.  Does anyone else feel like it suddenly turned into winter too?  X-Factor on TV last night, festive sweets now in shops (I kid you not) and we're seriously considering putting the heating on (yeah it's getting cold).  On that depressing thought, I'll leave you with peep toes and summer colours, brrrr!

Wearing:  Floral dress Red Herring at Debenhams, cardigan Bonmarche, leggings Primark, pink floral charming bag Love Moschino, lipstick brooch Miss Selfridge, pink fox ring gift, peacock ring River Island.
Fit: True to size. 6" heel and 1 1/2" platform.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day 911 - There's No Working You Out Whatsoever

Shoes: Pink 'Got The Hump' Dan Sullivan

So before I could get all the 'deboxing' photos of these shoes up, I've already worn them! If you follow my Facebook, you'll know that I struggled to make a decision on which colourway to pick. In the end I went for the navy as they have always been the colour I've been most attracted to, even if the pink were probably slightly more wearable/more likely to fit in with my wardrobe (I'm saying that because the trim is black on the pink pair). When they arrived though I got a pink pair in a 'navy' labelled box, so the decision was made for me! There wasn't much difference between the colours in all honesty and I still love them, so didn't see the point in sending them back (plus the other colour had sold out by then). My pair have a lot of blue in them anyway along with the white, black, orange, green and pink. Size-wise they fit perfectly. My toes tend to scrunch as I'm putting the shoe on, but there's room to fix that through the peep-toe once the shoe is on. The heel runs a little large (if I'm nit-picking) a bit like the Irregular Choice 'Long Lashes' boots, but it's very slight. I am incredibly tall in these though, I felt like a giant (apparently that's possible at 5 ft 5"). I had absolutely no issues walking in them, they felt 'safe' enough and there's a nice solid base to walk on.

Wearing: Goldfish dress H By Henry Holland, leggings Primark, limited edition flower hair clip ASOS.
Fit: True to size. 6" heel and 1 1/2" platform.
Comfort: No issues with these on their first outing.

Day 865 - Down Every Road There's Always One More City

Shoes: Green Blythe 'Cookie' Irregular Choice

Yesterday started off fine, then as the day wore on, I got further and further behind with work until...disaster struck! I plugged my camera in to upload photos and to my horror the usb port on my PC fell through the hole inside the computer. Eeek! Thankfully there are two ports, so I used the other one...carefully. I was discussing what to do about it because it would be an absolute disaster if I lost the other port and my sister suggested getting a USB hub and attaching that to the remaining port and working off that. So I went to plug in my phone and what do you know, the whole thing has fallen through, headphone sockets and all! In fairness I'm surprised it's lasted this long, because it's always been a jiggle to get usb's in and out and the whole front is rather flimsy. So I thought my life and blog were over (really), then I remembered there are some spare usb ports in the back of the PC (google might have helped me remember). So I ordered a usb extension cable to use for now and will look into getting a hub to attach to that. I believe Poundland have some, which is cheaper than a new computer! My lead isn't due to come until next week, although it was apparently dispatched at 1.25 this morning (?), so for now I'm heaving the tower in and out when I need to use the usb sockets. The glamorous life of blogging.  As for the shoes...I totally thought I'd worn these already but the immaculate soles suggest otherwise!  They are a half size bigger but are very generous.  What is it with me and too-big shoes lately? think I should take out shares in insoles.

Wearing: Tropical floral dip hem dress Red Herring (Debenhams), cardigan Bonmarche, leggings Primark, Mischief sunglasses Irregular Choice.
Fit: Generous in width and length. 1" platform and 4 3/4" heel, no need to take button out on strap.
Comfort: They are big on me so slipped off my heel a little, but no issues of discomfort.

Day 635 - Honey Got Me Runnin' Like I'm Flo Jo

Shoes: Yellow tartan 'Rainbow Bright' Irregular Choice

What a difference a day makes! As I'm writing this post, I'm shivering at the thought of wearing such a summery outfit! It's really, really cold, rainy and miserable when yesterday was sunny and suitably spring-like. As this dress has so many colours in it, there's a variety of shoes I can wear with it.  However, I was half-tempted to wear my Rosy green striped platforms for a second day running, as they looked fabulous with this dress and were still sitting out.  Then I remembered I had these yellow and green tartan heels, which as colourful as they are, completely mirror the colours in the dress.  They looked cute together I thought.

Wearing:  Flower-pot dress Dorothy Perkins, satin floral and paisley scarf and black leggings Primark, cardigan Be Beau at Matalan.
Fit:  True to size, generally I find the 'cortesan tie' much roomier than the snug fitting cortesan courts.  4 1/2" heel.
Comfort:  No issues with these.

Day 522 - Bright Lights

Shoes: Orange ruffle front strappy shoes Matalan

I decided last minute that I would pop out today instead of sitting in front of the computer the entire day. So I wasn't entirely sure of what to wear, but this works-I love the dress and haven't worn these shoes for ages. My hair has been misbehaving for weeks now (think it's the damp weather/central heating) and I'm considering what to do with it next (last night it was to shave the whole lot off and I was only half joking!). In these pics it's come across as looking alright though, which is rather naughty of it and you'll be wondering why I'm complaining!

Wearing: Cream lace collar pleated dress Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, 'New York Citights' House of Holland.
Fit: Narrow toe box, although these are my regular size. 4 straps with adjustable buckles. Heel 4 3/4" and small concealed platform.
Comfort: With the narrow toe, they will probably ache after a few hours, but I didn't have any issues today.
