Day 857 - For You, I'd Wait 'Til Kingdom Come

Shoes: Black ruffle front strappy shoes Matalan

Sometimes an outfit comes together in a rather haphazard type of way (not always a bad thing). Take today as an example; I picked out a pair of shoes (not these), thought they could maybe work with these floral tights. Picked out a dress to match the two, then none of it felt right. I decided to look for black shoes instead and found these. Then I realised I didn't need the dress I originally picked as I was choosing that purely for the other shoes. I ended up in this plain black one and my outfit was nothing liked I planned! I felt a little wintry, especially as my initial outfit was brighter, but I decided to stick with this because I haven't worn the tights for ages nor the shoes. I didn't 'feel' like wearing this dress though (my style is very mood dictated) and the tights are a little too 'hipster' for me and after all the Easter eggs (how quickly did they disappear btw?), I had a line across my belly where the tights stopped and I have to admit I would have felt comfier in something else. That's just the way it goes sometimes though and it's nothing to stress about, it just happens.  Maybe I'll find a much better outfit for the shoes I originally hauled out!

Wearing: Black shift dress and floral tights Primark, wine belt Swan by Clements Ribeiro, flower hair clips Debenhams, flower and ribbon comb Yama Yama Pretty Mama.
Fit: Narrow toe box, although these are my regular size. 4 straps with adjustable buckles. Heel 4 3/4" and small concealed platform.
Comfort: With the narrow toe, they will probably ache after a few hours, but I didn't have any issues today.

Day 689 - It's The Dream Afraid Of Waking

Shoes: Purple croc 4 buckle courts Matalan
Shoes: Wine 'Whitney' Irregular Choice

A two-shoe post for yesterday.  I ended up changing at the last minute from the strappy shoes into the platforms, because I knew I had a lot of walking to do (well a lot for me) and I could already feel the purple ones rubbing my heel from wearing them around the house.  Shame, because they were super gorgeous! I had popped out shopping and managed to get soaked 'running' from my house to the bus-stop (which is literally across the road), not good!  Onto the dress and this is the one I was talking about the sizing issues with.  I had heard it was on the larger side, so had already sized down to an 18 and ordered a 16 with it.  I tried the smaller first and it still felt large, so I ended up re-ordering a 14 and had it been produced in a 12 that probably would have fit better!  I guess then it's supposed to be quite loose, but I hate feeling like I'm wearing a tent.  The fabric is sheer (not to the point of seeing everything underneath, but shadows/outlines of your legs are visible in the light) and I certainly wouldn't have paid £75 for it.  It's got pockets (good) and it's just a nice, simple dress to throw on.

Wearing:  'Frida' floral dress Swan by Clements Ribeiro, leggings and cardigan Primark, shoe scarf gift, bag Gossipi, unicorn ring Miss Selfridge, leopard ring Primark, other two rings part of set H&M.
Matalan
Fit: True to size and I love the 4 buckles because they are quite large and not those fiddly little ones you often get these days. Heel 4 3/4".Comfort: You feel safe enough, like I said the back of the heel/straps can rub after time.
Irregular Choice
Fit: True to size, 5" heel and double platform.
Comfort: Very comfortable and no issues.

Day 522 - Bright Lights

Shoes: Orange ruffle front strappy shoes Matalan

I decided last minute that I would pop out today instead of sitting in front of the computer the entire day. So I wasn't entirely sure of what to wear, but this works-I love the dress and haven't worn these shoes for ages. My hair has been misbehaving for weeks now (think it's the damp weather/central heating) and I'm considering what to do with it next (last night it was to shave the whole lot off and I was only half joking!). In these pics it's come across as looking alright though, which is rather naughty of it and you'll be wondering why I'm complaining!

Wearing: Cream lace collar pleated dress Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, 'New York Citights' House of Holland.
Fit: Narrow toe box, although these are my regular size. 4 straps with adjustable buckles. Heel 4 3/4" and small concealed platform.
Comfort: With the narrow toe, they will probably ache after a few hours, but I didn't have any issues today.

Day Four Hundred & Forty Nine - Rock The Boat

Shoes: Pink triple bow platforms Matalan

Another outfit from last week, can't quite remember which day. It was pretty hot anyway considering the crap weather we've had lately. I think we maybe had our summer in April and that's us for the year! I continued the nautical theme with this beautiful boat print dress, had to have it the moment I saw that fabric! I can recall just flinging all this on and getting out for a walk before the weather had a chance to change!

Wearing: Blue boat print sundress, black leggings, cardi all Primark.
Fit: True to size, buckle fastening, heel almost 5" and 1" platform.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day Four Hundred & Fifteen - Missed It

Shoes: Grey concealed platform, zip shoe boots Matalan

I've had these shoes for years and it didn't occur to me until last week, when I was having a little clear-out that I hadn't used them in my shoe challenge! I must've missed writing them down or ever coming across them (they were in the furthest away box, pushed to the back of the top of my wardrobe-so not exactly easy to find)! I know there are still several pairs in storage that you haven't seen and I don't know if/when you ever will, plus there are loads of pairs I threw out early in the challenge forgetting to photograph them first. Anyway, seeing as I haven't worn these for so long, it's unlikely I'll be keeping them, they'll go up on eBay at the next opportunity!

Wearing: No outfit post today-just realised how much quicker it is when I miss that part out! I lost the motivation to get out of the house today, so didn't bother getting dressed.
Fit: True to size, can be worn with zip up or down. Heel 4 1/4" and small concealed platform.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day Four Hundred & Eight - The Way You Make Me Feel

Shoes: Purple croc 4 buckle courts Matalan

Sorry for disappearing this weekend, it's been very hectic, so I'll try and catch up with some posts now. Sometimes or a lot of the time it's as much about the way a shoe makes you feel as how it looks. This is one such case. These shoes are probably nothing that exciting to look at, but they have this ability to make you feel sexy and put a spring in your step. Probably because if you don't 'spring' you can't walk in them! They are very high without any platform, so you really have to bounce to keep going!

Wearing: Black floral dress either Asda or Tesco I can't remember! Bow cardi New Look. Sunglasses Primark and my new hair!
Fit: True to size and I love the 4 buckles because they are quite large and not those fiddly little ones you often get these days. I've put these shoes away and they're difficult to reach and I can't remember the heel measurement! It's either 4 1/2" or 4 3/4".
Comfort: You'll feel your legs aching from the height but the shoes themselves don't give you any bother. As I said, they are probably better for more experienced heel wearers, while it's unlikely you'll wobble or fall off them, the walking takes a certain technique.

Day Three Hundred & Eighty Three - A Royal Affair

Shoes: Raspberry patent strappy shoes (worn without ruffle) Matalan

It was another lovely day, albeit a bit windy which was good considering Prince William and Kate were visiting. I often wonder if these Royals realise the work (and money) that's involved preceding their visit. The town has been utter chaos all week with press everywhere, security checking every drain, lamp-post and anything else. Bins have been taken off the street as they are an eyesore, various items have been removed for security reasons (even although they were nailed into the ground) and fresh paint has been applied anywhere that stands still long enough. My Dad works for the University and was given brand new boots to wear (he's retiring soon, so really doesn't need them and was not directly with William at any point!). Dad also had to give the names, addresses and dates of birth of all his team that were working in the area today. Guests at the event were not allowed bags, cameras or phones and they needed their passports with them (after security checks obviously) and had very strict guidelines on what to wear. All that fuss for a couple that lived here (pretty anonymously) for 4 years and which I'm sure have seen wheelie bins, chipped paint and casual attire!

Wearing: Pearl Lowe for Peacocks peter pan collar dress which is so see-through, so I need a slip underneath (also very creased-oops) and black tights.
Fit: Very narrow toe box, these are my regular size. 4 straps with adjustable buckles. Heel 4 3/4" and concealed platform.
Comfort: With the narrow toe, they will probably ache after a few hours, but I didn't have any issues today.

Day Three Hundred & Sixty - Riding High

Shoes: Brown knee high platform boots Matalan

Sorry, I'm running a day behind. Didn't get anything done yesterday, then been out for lunch today and just back! My dresses always look like they have dodgy shaped hemlines, it's usually because I'm doubled over tying to take the photo myself, so that's the reason!
Wearing: H&M floral dress (really old), green tights Accessorize.
Fit: I actually had to double check these are only a 5 because they're pretty roomy. Half inside zip and reasonable sized leg. Platform 1 1/4", heel 5 1/4".
Comfort: No problems with these and pretty easy to walk in.

Day Three Hundred & Thirty Three - Grey Area

Shoes: Black and grey double platform peep toes Be Beau at Matalan

It looked so beautiful outside today that I had to be reminded it is almost winter. That reminder came, whenever I stepped out the door-it's freezing! I've been so sleepy today that I really could've just stayed indoors, but quickly threw on this outfit and went for a walk. That's 3 days out of 3 so far!! Wearing: Black leggings, black waterfall front cardi and grey lace dress all Primark.
Fit: True to size, 5 1/2" heel and 1 1/2" double layer platform.
Comfort: Takes a little while to fasten all 6 of the buckles, but no problems with these. The platform really helps with the heel height, because although you feel very much taller, you don't teeter on the skinny heels.

Day Three Hundred & Fifteen - Gotta Go

Shoes: Purple faux snakeskin and suedette lace-up peep toes Matalan

I'm going to try and catch up with the posts I missed during the week although I'm busy preparing for yet more ebay auctions. These shoes are from yesterday-another pair I'm selling. Tomorrow, I'm going to be relisting those that I didn't sell last time along with the gorgeous Miu Miu look-a-likes that I talked about yesterday on Pink Haired Princess. I'll shortly be posting the details on PHP and if you are keen to purchase any, please email me before tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon otherwise they will be going on ebay then.

Wearing: No outfit post.
Fit: True to size, 4 1/4" heel.
Comfort: No problems with these.

Day Three Hundred & Six - Feeling Purple

Shoes: Purple suedette and snake platform courts Matalan

Final shoe for the day and such a lovely shape. I really like the platform and cutesy rounded toe.

Fit: True to size, 5" heel and 3/4" platform.
Comfort: Although these have a high heel, it's reasonably chunky and the platform ensures it doesn't feel very high. Really comfortable.

Day Two Hundred & Ninety Five - Where Are They?

Shoes: Red and purple strappy platforms Matalan

I must've spent around 30 minutes deciding which shoes to wear today-having such a choice is a novelty! I've become accustomed to wearing a pair on the challenge, then moving them to the back or bottom of the pile, to keep the unworn pairs with easy access. So now that I have the choice of any pair, it's difficult knowing where everything is and being bothered enough to go looking!
Wearing: Cream floral dress F&F at Tesco, striped belt Dorothy Perkins, black leggings and black cardi.
Fit: 4 3/4" heel and 1 1/4" platform. True to size.
Comfort: They may look high, but they are incredibly comfortable and easy to walk in. Your foot is practically flat and the strapping feels very secure.

Day Two Hundred & Seventy Two - And Then Came The Rain

Oh dear, it's the first day of the golf and it's been torrential rain, non-stop! Oopsy! What did I say about projecting a positive image of the town? I did get a laugh at the poor sports correspondent on the BBC news today, wrestling with his giant umbrella. The golf course is situated right next to the beach and it's so open, that's it's usually pretty windy at the best of times. Needless to say I'm not leaving the house, so I popped on my old faithfuls. I hope it clears up tomorrow because the only shoes I have left are pretty summery and special, so I don't want to 'waste' a pair when I'm not even leaving the house!

Day Two Hundred & Sixty Seven - House Of...

Sorry it's a bit late-seem to be running on slow mo' today. Wearing my lovely new House of Holland tights, with little houses all over them-gorgeous!
