12 Shoes Of Christmas - Day 6

Day 6 and we're halfway through our challenge of wearing Irregular Choice festive footwear for 12 days.  Today we are both wearing the same style, in the same colour.  I believe the fashion pack call this "twinning"!  Not sure if that still applies when we are miles apart!
The shoes are Oz green tinsel courts, which were a limited edition style specially for the 'holiday' season, back in 2009.  They also came in red and Flick Flack (if I remember correctly) launched at the same time in special colourways.  They feature that chunky, carved perspex heel that so many of us love, in green with a pink tip.  There's a huge metallic green bow on the front and the uppers have tinsel like metallic threading sticking out (kinda like hairy shoes, but not as gross or creepy as that sounds).  I've worn these quite a lot, even 'off' season (had the heel tip been red, they might've proved harder to wear outside of Christmas), though the colour is very bright and rich and sometimes difficult to style.  Funnily enough, I actually had trouble finding other shoes to sit next to these on the shelf in the shoe room as so many clashed or looked 'dirty' next to them and my one gripe has always been the orange crushed velvet lining.  I so wish these had landed in a different season with a colour of lining that suited them better!  Oz became one of those iconic styles that has since been released in many different forms (sometimes under another name), with knitted, perspex or fabric bows.  What do you think, do you own any of the Oz style courts?

Today I'm wearing:  Green Oz
Today Tomi is wearing:  Green Oz

  2. I've got the black and pink brocade ones with the leather bow from that year (I think) and always get compliments. I love the tinsel look to these ones!

    1. These are my only pair of Oz...I loved the polka dot ones with knitted bows, thought they were cute.

    2. I missed out on the polka dot ones, but I did also get the gray tweed with the black bows and the magenta heels. It really matches a gray Marley sweater I have and folks have complimented the combo.
