Day 930 - Don't Wish Too Hard, Because They May Come True

Shoes: Cream and black 'Role' River Island Design Forum (Sophia Webster)

I have no idea which day this outfit was from last week, but here it is. I think I've only worn this dress once despite owning it for some time. That's down to it being a little tight (not any longer) rather than me not liking it. I have this image in my head, that I had blonde hair last time I wore it (bleached and ready to colour), but I love it with my hair colour right now. They look perfect together. I almost grabbed my ASOS tapestry Ablaze boots to wear with it until I realised I'd be wearing the same shoes two days running! I saw these open toe boots still sitting out from when I last wore them and decided they would work too. It was actually reasonably warm, so they were a better choice than the other boots anyway.  Oh and I did something different with the full length image today, what do you think? Better?

Wearing: Purple swallow dress New Look, leggings Primark, cardigan (just seen in last image) Swan by Clements Ribeiro.
Fit: True to size, back zip, 4 1/4" heel.
Comfort: Easy to walk in, but the backs will rub on bare legs.

Day 923 - Life's Too Short To Be Sittin' Round Miserable

Shoes: Cream and black 'Role' River Island Design Forum (Sophia Webster)

After bold makeup the day before, I was keen for a fresh, natural look yesterday. For once, I loved everything about this outfit and the hair and makeup. Clothes wise, I'm really trying to wear those items that are full-on summer before it gets any cooler. I think my bare legged days are numbered! Well we have The X-Factor starting this weekend, so that's the countdown to Christmas starting isn't it? Back to my shoes and I knew these would rub the backs of my legs wearing them without socks/tights/leggings, but I love the look of pairing a pretty, girly dress with boots. These have to be one of my all-time favourite pairs of shoes and I sooo called it, way back when, that the lady that designed these would go onto big things. They were part of the design forum collection (designed by fashion students) for River Island and the designer in question was none other than Sophia Webster. She worked under Nicholas Kirkwood until the launch of her own label, which I'm lucky enough to own a pair of (and they are super fabulous I might add). I adore these and would never sell them, I think they sum up my style quite well.

Wearing:  Turquoise floral dress Dorothy Perkins, cardigan Primark, flower hair clip (part of set) ASOS.
Fit: True to size, back zip, 4 1/4" heel.
Comfort: Easy to walk in, but the backs will rub on bare legs.

Day 909 - When You Wish Your Bed Was Already Made

Shoes: Navy 'Perine' spike platforms River Island

Yesterday I had a few technical hitches, much to my annoyance, so I couldn't get on with work at all. Sods law, I was actually in the mood for working after feeling sluggish these past couple of weeks! I think the internet was running in the background or something was going on unseen, as I ended up having to clear the cache, history etc and restart the whole system, which took over an hour to do (it would normally take a few minutes). Everything was 'not responding', Facebook crashed on me 7 times when it was supposedly the only thing I had open and even my pictures/folders wouldn't work properly and the anti-virus scan I run each days which takes under a minute, had been going for an hour and was still only at 1.7%. However once I fired it all back up, it was fine. This was after 10pm though, so I couldn't get much done before bed. I was fuming at wasting 5 hours just trying to get anything to function. Anyway, it was still hot yesterday, thankfully it's cooler this morning. They keep telling us on the coast that it's only low 20's, but it feels much hotter. I looked out these shoes and planned an outfit around it. I can't say I felt summery in navy, but like I said, I don't seem to adapt well to this weather. There are cut-out sections in the back of the bodice of the dress, with little bows, but I couldn't figure out how to photograph that!

Wearing: Polka dot dress H By Henry Holland, leggings Primark, limited edition flower hair clip ASOS.
Fit: Run quite large in length, back zip opening. Heel 5 1/2", platform 1 3/4"
Comfort: Thankfully the massive rubber, grip sole makes them feel much safer as they are super-high.

Day 847 - You Got The Wrong Song Coming Through Your Speakers

Shoes: Grey brocade thigh high 'Teena' boots River Island

Hello peeps! For some reason ever since I bought this dress, I've wanted to wear it with these boots. I just liked the idea. For various reasons (the biggest being you can barely sit in these boots as the knees are difficult to bend), I haven't worn them together. Until today. It was pretty grey outside, but dry on the ground (despite the snow flurries all day), so I figure 'wear your highest heels when the opportunity arises' you know! I'm starting to picture rolling Easter eggs in the snow...don't laugh, it's very close to becoming reality! For my Monster High Monday makeup I'm wearing today head over to Pink Haired Princess, can you guess which dolly I am? Oh and I've been trying to capture the back of these boots (where the full length zip is), but the only way that didn't look stupid was by taking a photo in the mirror, hence the not so sharp image today (I've included an extra below).

Wearing: Pansy 'Betty' dress and wine belt Swan by Clements Ribeiro.
Fit: True to size, elasticated section and full length zip. 5" heel and 1" platform.
Comfort: A little rigid at first (especially when sitting or walking up/down stairs) but after 10 minutes or so, they get a little more flexible. No other issues.

Day 775 - Money Ain't A Thing When You Party With Me

Shoes: Grey brocade thigh high 'Teena' boots River Island

I'm running behind with posts, time just got away from me yesterday and today.  So this is what I wore yesterday.  I love these boots, although they can often be quite tricky to plan an outfit around.  I always want something quite demure to off-set the whole 'thigh high' boot thing; plus they are metallic and patterned, so you don't want something that will clash or detract from the gorgeous boots.  I think this dress was great with it; it's got a nice little flash of polka-dot but the length looked really good over these boots (yes it does hide a lot of them but I'm not a mini-skirt or hot-pants wearing girl!).  I actually had to iron this dress before wearing it, after discovering it at the bottom of a very large pile of clothes. It was a sale purchase from around a year ago (no kidding) and I'm surprised it still fitted!

Wearing:  Spot print midi dress ASOS, fur hat and coat Primark, pegasus brooch on hat Miss Selfridge.
Fit: True to size, elasticated section and full length zip. 5" heel and 1" platform.
Comfort: A little rigid at first (especially when sitting or walking up/down stairs) but after 10 minutes or so, they get a little more flexible.  No other issues.

Day 740 - I Even Fell For That Stupid Love Song

Shoes: Navy 'Perine' spike platforms River Island

I've had a little break from The Shoe Girl Diaries over the past few days and it's given me the perfect opportunity to catch up on blogging over on Pink Haired Princess which had been feeling rather neglected. I've also been busy tidying, eBaying, plus we've had dreadful weather so I've been unable to get out anyway. It was pleasant enough yesterday, although cold and I think I was putting on a brave front going out in sandals and bare legs, all without a jacket too! I got some strange looks that's for sure. However, I found these shoes at the weekend and realised I hadn't had the chance to wear them all summer. I didn't intend to work them into this outfit, in fact I started with completely different shoes and socks that I'd planned on wearing, then added the dress (actually it was the third dress I tried on), decided the socks/shoes didn't look right, so changed to these! Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and trying to prepare outfits in your head in advance doesn't always work out. Anyway for the 10 minutes I'm out of the house, it was warm enough. The gritter did come along our street at night though (eeeek) which has thrown me into full-on winter mode, so it's cosy from here on!

Wearing: Pearl button dress Jasmine Guinness at Very, vest (worn underneath) Primark, swallow cardigan Dorothy Perkins, belt taken from another dress, hairband Yama Yama Pretty Mama.
Fit: Run quite large in length, back zip opening. Heel 5 1/2", platform 1 3/4"
Comfort: Thankfully the massive rubber, grip sole makes them feel much safer as they are super-high.
