Had you seen me last night, I'm sure you'd have witnessed steam coming out my ears. Everything was going wrong and in amongst it, my internet decided to play up, only allowing me on some sites. Polyvore was one I couldn't get on, so I had no way of blogging TSGSI. I was reaching exploding point, but am feeling much calmer today, phew! Now, the majority of times, I style an outfit around a pair of shoes, as per the objective. However there are rare occasions where I see an item or two and just know I want them together, so search for shoes afterwards. This was one such time. I saw this top on Evans and immediately fell in love, then discovered the trousers, which matched perfectly. So then it was off to look for shoes.
They are Melissa & Jason Wu Ultragirl bow in smoke £64 (sale). They have a sheer, snakeskin effect finish and the usual top peep-toe feature with a large, flat bow. Like I say the top was the first item that caught my attention. Banishing those 'tent' like, one size fits all shapes that plus size clothing so regularly adopts, this has a much fresher, edgier approach. Yes, it's still reasonably loose fitting, but just look at that amazing hem. I adore how full and frilly it is and love that extreme high-low feature. It's almost ankle grazing at the back! I only wish that centre front seam didn't exist in the bodice and that the sleeves were different. I look ridiculous in any sleeve that is full length and non-fitted. I think I could overlook that, for the ultra cool hem though! It is sheer and says unlined, so I'm assuming the vest top the model is wearing isn't included and you'd need your own. As I say, these trousers are the perfect partner for the top, in colour and style and I finished with this cute little robot bag, which was new in at Topshop. I'm really pleased that I found something cool in plus size again, though it's totally different from my look last week. What do you think, do you like this?
