Day 906 - This One Is For The Boys With The Booming System

A cardigan is a staple item for me, but with this warmer weather, I've wanted to ditch it. Looking at my wardrobe though, more often than not a cardigan is required (I spoke of this dilemma when I wore my cape last week). So I've been trying to pick outfits that don't need a cardi and yesterday that led me to my t-shirts. I'm most definitely a dress person, so don't wear tops or t-shirts often, but I have been giving them a try this year. One issue is that I don't have enough bottoms to pair them with! I have very few skirts and still haven't fixed my lace pencil one which shrunk (and the lining didn't) in the wash months ago. However this one is great for summer. Despite the busy print and colours, it works with so many of my t-shirts.  It's been a worthwhile sale purchase and I honestly never expected to get quite as much wear out of it as I have.

Day 905 - Been Around The World And Never Even Left The Room

Shoes: Navy and gold 'Can't Touch This' Irregular Choice 

So yesterday Mum and I went on 'adventures' with the wheelchair. We wanted to go somewhere different, so there's a lovely walk not too far from our house, but somewhere we don't often frequent. It's a little rugged and not built for a wheelchair really, but Mum had sussed it out last week and thought she'd manage. There was only one bit where I had to get out (right at the start) which involved a really steep slope that to be honest I struggled to walk down, so it would've been impossible in the wheelchair. It was so tranquil in parts, mixed with fearing for your life in other bits! There's a stream running through and at one point you're high above it, with a sheer drop at the side of the footpath...I said to Mum "whatever you do, don't let me go"! Mum and I are terrified of dogs too and this is like dog-walkers paradise, I just wish they'd keep them on leads as it's scary to have a big slobbery mouth and teeth at your level!  Read on for some photos...

Wearing: Paris print dress H By Henry Holland, lace vest M&Co, leggings Primark.
Fit: Almost 4" heel, adjustable buckle. Snug fit but I opt for my regular size.
Comfort: My only complaint is it's hard to find the holes in the dark fabric for the buckle (it's also navy on the reverse of the strap).
I didn't have my camera with me, only my phone which was a waste as there were so many wonderful things to capture. My phone did a decent enough job and I thought I'd share some photos with you; a little bridge which I expect a troll lives under (too much Dora?), a meadow that looked liked unicorns would gallop along and the most peaceful lake (with adorable little ducklings which popped out to see us) and then...
...this is glitter, a ton of glitter on the footpath. I can't think why anyone would be carrying a pot of glitter along here (and by gum, it would've been a massive pot), so my mind goes to fairy dust. It has to be, right? Even my Dad thinks so.

Day 904 - You Want Me Down On Earth, But I Am Up In Space

Shoes: Black patent heart peep toe Moschino Cheap & Chic 

I felt like a little matryoshka dolly in this outfit on Friday! I've had the dress for years but haven't worn it for a while, so was surprised to find it still fits (I'm hit or miss with New Look). I purchased it from the Tall range so that it would be a decent length. It was really too hot for a cardigan, but as any large busted lady will know, a cardigan is pretty necessary when it comes to sleeveless dresses. If I get a dress to fit across my chest, it gapes at the armholes (exposing oodles of bra) and is usually too big on the waist. This dress isn't actually too bad, but I wanted my shoulders protected from the sun even if I was only going out for a few minutes (plus it partly covered my heat rash/clawed chest). So I found this little cape I'd bought ages ago in the Glasgow Miss Selfridge. I'm sure it was about £30 at the time which I thought was extortionate for what it is, but I fell in love with it and treated myself. I call it my 'Dr Quinn' cape, because it feels very much like a period piece. Anyway, I thought it looked great with this dress and paired with my little fluffy heart shoes. Random fact, in my late teens/early 20's I used to love wearing these sort of Gothic Victorian inspired pieces with high necks, frills etc.

Comfort: No issues with these and easy to walk in.

Day 903 - Keep Partyin' Like It's Your Job

Shoes: Beige Lady Dragon Cherries Vivienne Westwood Anglomania & Melissa 

What up peeps? Yesterday wasn't quite as hot as it's been, but still a lovely day. This dress is one of those hard to style ones, that isn't bright blue but not navy and so pairing it with either, looks a little off. So I took the opportunity of not having to wear a coat or even cardigan...the leggings weren't a perfect match, but didn't clash too badly. I have to admit I always struggle with blues (and browns too), because wearing too much of those colours doesn't look right (you can't really pile blue on blue like you can with black) but not much else goes with them. Anyway, I love the little doggy print and it's a cute casual look. Oh and I totally need to wear scratch mitts in my bed! My neck and chest has been so itchy and while I'm sleeping I've been scratching it (you can see a weird lumpy/scratch on my throat), I'm blaming the heat!

Day 902 - I Pictured A Rainbow, You Held It In Your Hands

Shoes: Canvas daisy platforms Red Valentino 

The hottest day of the year so far and man was I getting hot and bothered! I knew it was going to be warm, so had two possible dresses planned in advance. This one I couldn't find, so turned my room upside down looking for it, after the other dress didn't get past my shoulders (I'm hoping it's because I was hot rather than it didn't fit). So then I decided something had to be done about the shoe situation in my room. Shoe Mountain has been a bit precarious lately and I was anticipating a landslide any day, so I thought I could find some more summery shoes while straightening out the mountain. It worked and I found my pom pom and other globe Lady Dragons I've been hunting for, rescued these Red Valentino platforms and eventually found my Terry de Havilland wedges, phew! By that time I was flustered and boiling to say the least. My sis and I popped out in the afternoon and it was her turn to be hot, pushing me in the wheelchair (poor wee thing).  There was a bit of a breeze on occasion, but overall a hot, hot day!  What did you do in the sun?

Comfort: The heels buckle slightly when walking, so that's a little unnerving.
