Shoes: Irregular Choice 'Paw Paw'
I had a hospital appointment yesterday, the first time I've been out in a while. So you have a full outfit today, as well as shoes! I think I dressed appropriately given the time of year....it was apparently colder (hence the tights) but not cold enough for a coat (I wore a little cardigan and bigger cardi on top). It's hard to gauge when you aren't out for weeks/months at a time. My Mum actually knitted me this chunky, oversized scarf earlier in the year, which I wore (it can get chilly when you're just sitting in a wheelchair and not moving around, though we didn't have far to go). I just want to wear it all the time, it's so comfortable and cosy. I should've taken photos with it on.
Anyway, I broke out a new skirt, which I was pleasantly surprised to find still fits. I bought it in the sales at Christmas and it was a little tight then (though mega high-waisted which can take a bit of getting used to). It has an invisible side zip and even though I zipped it up at the front, then swirled the skirt round, I still managed to blister my finger! You need like two sets of hands for these things-two to pull the sides together, one to pull the zip up and one to hold the base of the zip. It was worth it though, because wowzers, this skirt is amazing. I actually really love the high waist thing (even if I was wearing a long-line bra and they overlapped); the skirt is ridiculously full, the polka dots have a flocked finish and...it has pockets. Big, massive, proper pockets! The colour is much more vivid in the flesh, but my camera and phone were doing weird things yesterday! I teamed it with this t-shirt, because I like mixing my style; pinup with quirky humour! There was a female version (which I also bought but returned), however this is from the men's department and I much prefer it (size L for reference). On the back it says "is it me you're looking for", which is a bit of a joke in our house, because "Hello" is my ringtone and my sister and I are obsessed with the ridiculously creepy but hilarious video. With everything going on, I kept my shoes pretty simple
Wearing: ASOS Lionel Richie t-shirt and Collectif Mary polka dot skirt.
Fit: True to size, a little 'flat' in the toe. Adjustable buckle on strap. Just over 4" heel.
Comfort: I think the strap could rub at the back of the heel with bare legs.
I like the colour of that skirt- pretty!!!! I'm not keen on teddies on shoes (don't know why, but I don't like any except Squeezy).xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. Ah really. I love the teddies, so many in this seasons IC stuff-I want all the bears!
DeleteI *really* like these shoes, they're cute with the teddies and yet subtle with the fact they're all one colour.
ReplyDeleteThey came with other attachments, but I only ever wear the teddies, because they sit best and are cutest obvi!
DeleteI have spent hours searching the internet to try and find these shoes. I used to have them, many years ago..Maybe almost 10 years ago! They were a size too small for me, but I had to have them! I eventually sold them because on the rare occasion I wore them they killed my feet, and I felt I was doing the world a dis-service by leaving them sat in my wardrobe. They are so beautiful they deserve to be worn all the time! I could never find them again anywhere else, not a photo, not even a description of them, until now. I was starting to think those cute teddy faces had been a figment of my imagination. So, I am writing this comment to say THANK YOU for your blog post and photos :)
ReplyDeleteBizarrely enough, I'm also Scottish and in my thirties... maybe these shoes were only available in one shop in Scotland in the mid 2000s!
You're welcome! Yeah I've had mine for years (got them online) and worn them quite a lot (always with the teddies on them).
