Day Two Hundred & Four - Electric Shower

I can't get used to writing "Day Two Hundred...", I keep writing "one" then have to delete it! It's been so pretty and sunny here today, although 20 minutes ago we did get loud thunder and heavy showers! I adore these boots and once they are on my feet, they fit perfectly. However getting them on is a major problem. I can't do it without unzipping them, but once they are on my feet, I struggle to get the zip in-it's ok getting the zip up though. So it took me about 15 minutes to get them on, to wear them on my walk for 5 minutes! They are pretty difficult to photograph too because of the bright and metallic colours, but hopefully this is a decent enough shot. Day Two Hundred & Three - Another Day

Hello chickadees! I've been feeling under the weather, so I apologise for not posting any shoes yesterday. I actually spent the whole day on facebook trying to win £400 to spend on My-wardrobe! I was unsuccessful, but it was quite good fun making up little rhymes! More fun than the morning spent the other week at the-outnet £1 sale, that was just one big stress. Oh the things we do for a freebie! Anyway I went shopping today even although I really didn't feel up to it, I had some stuff to return though so it was necessary. I took one dress (that was mislabeled) back to Primark but came out with 3 pairs of sunglasses and 3 dresses! It would've been more if they'd had my size! I also have to mention the wonderful customer service in Peacocks where I was returning a dress I'd bought online, the staff were very friendly and helpful, thank you.

Day Two Hundred & Two - You Can Never Have...

The first part of The Shoe Girl Diaries interview is up on Pink Haired Princess if you haven't already seen it. Second part should be available later today, with some pictures this time. I'm not even sure I'm wearing these shoes today, but I've committed to it by posting them here now! They're really lovely and I've been wanting to wear them for months, but I'm just not feeling them with this outfit. I can't find the perfect pair of shoes to go with this very bright peach dress, as the saying goes "you can never have too many shoes" (even if you own 200 pairs!).

Day Two Hundred & One - Bow-tiful

Thank you for all your kind comments and emails yesterday! Been waiting in all day for my River Island Design Forum shoes to arrive and they finally have. I'm so excited, they are absolutely stunning, beautifully made and worth every penny. I also made the right decision to buy them when I did, because the size 5's are gone now! I just hope the other pair I like, don't sell out before next week, because I must have them too! Gorgeous shoes today, I used to love going into Shelly's in Glasgow-it was such a massive shop and I never left empty handed.

Day Two Hundred - Happy Birthday!!!

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear The Shoe Girl Diaries, happy birthday to you!! Woohoo, Day 200 is finally here. What can I say? I never, ever thought I owned 200 pairs of shoes (quite scary) or that I could continue the challenge of wearing a different pair every day and only once. There have been moments that I've been tempted to cheat or didn't quite feel like wearing that old style that I no longer loved, but I've kept true to the challenge! If I've brought a smile to your face at least once throughout the 200 days, then it's been worth it. I adore my shoes and I'm happy to share them with the rest of the world through this blog. To commemorate this massive milestone the celebrations will continue throughout next week with an interview, where I answer everything you ever wanted to know about the challenge and maybe a sneak peep of the glorious shoes still to come. Yes, they're still more! So grab a cupcake (mine is the after-eight choc mint, thanks!) and take a look at the fab party shoes I'm wearing today.

Day One Hundred & Ninety Nine - Meet Me There

Very beautiful day today, I'm feeling all summery. These shoes are from the Irregular Choice A/W collection back in 2005. I can't remember their name, but I didn't realise how many pairs from that range I owned until I checked back the IC archives. They're actually not very comfortable so I don't wear them often. They are a very 'hard' shoe and I don't like that. Getting quite excited and a little nervous for tomorrows big 'Day 200'! I have no idea what shoes I'm going to wear, I think I'll just decide on the day. See you then!

Day One Hundred & Ninety Eight - Shake Your Pom Poms

Oh my gosh, aren't we just soooo close to 200 shoes? 200 whole days of different shoes. Do you think I'll make it? Of course a dooodly I will! I've checked 'the list' of unworn shoes and there's another couple of months left in there I'm sure, yipee! I also bought the pair of River Island shoes I've been hankering after all week, phew-glad they are mine! I still want the other pair but can't be too reckless the minute I get some money, haha! So there will be plenty of celebrating when we reach Day 200 on Sunday, I want you all to wear your best shoes and cyber party with me! There is also a fabby interview planned with moi 'Pink Haired Princess' aka 'The Shoe Girl'. So what are you waiting for? Dust off those heels and let's partay!

Day One Hundred & Ninety Seven - Keep On Running

Hello lovelies, hope you're all well. I've been a busy bee today! These shoes are beautiful, I love this bold leopard print. However they are slightly too big for me I think and my foot kept slipping out as I was walking. I was wearing tights though, so perhaps it would be better barefoot. I felt I was clenching my toes to avoid them slipping and felt rather awkward! I was glad to get home.

Day One Hundred & Ninety Six - Open For Business

Yay, UK airspace is officially open, finally! I know that there will still be weeks of disruption, especially with the massive backlog of passengers still stuck overseas. It's certainly been a strange time, but everyone has lived to tell the tale which is the main thing. It's still pretty undecided weather wise here and I've been wanting to wear these shoes for so long, but never found the right outfit for them. These tights are perfect with them. I'm a huge fan of Miss L Fire shoes, although it's quite hard to find any with really high heels. They do mid-heel heights so well, but you know that I like the big guns! With the platform on these though, your foot is practically flat, so after yesterdays ankle-breakers, these are ankle-savers!

Day One Hundred & Ninety Five - Chanel-a-like

Today we've had bright sunshine, clear skies, grey sky, clouds, a little rain, lots of wind and calm, then for the short time I was outdoors, we got another hailstorm! I can't keep up with it! These shoes however, work in any of those conditions. I reckon they are my most favourite asos shoes that I own, they feel so expensive and are obviously very Chanel-ish. Beware, they are ankle breakers though, with just over a 4 1/2" heel and no platform. I actually needed a bigger size than usual and they do fit perfectly and are very comfortable minus the vertical foot/heel height thing!

Day One Hundred & Ninety Four - Where's Spring gone?

After what's been a really clear and sunny few days, it's dull and looks like it could rain any second today. Actually when I got up this morning, it was hailstones for a short time! I had good intentions of getting properly dressed and going out today, but now can't be bothered. I've got plenty of things to be getting on with indoors. Like trying to figure out how I can get money to pay for all the shoes I'm lusting after right now!

Day One Hundred & Ninety Three - Up or Down

My auntie and uncle visited yesterday and I haven't seen them for a year as they live on the Isle of Wight. My nephews also came out, so it was pandemonium. I can't lift my arm above my waist without severe pain caused by lifting my nephew onto a wall on Saturday, repeatedly! Ouch! Anyway, I thought rather than leave you pictureless (although technically I did seeing as I only uploaded it today), I have worn my boots with the top folded down. You saw them in winter as over the knee boots, so this is actually how they are supposed to be worn. Seeing as I won't make it to another winter on The Shoe Girl Diaries, I thought I'd show this image even if I didn't wear them yesterday.

Day One Hundred & Ninety Two - Pretty Kitty

Today my neighbour was getting married. We are the same age and went to nursery together but drifted apart a couple of years into high school. My nephews are here today and thought it very exciting to see wedding cars outside the house! We went to the church to watch her coming out and I caught up with one of my friends that I haven't seen in a while, which was nice. There were loads of girls there from school that I haven't seen since we left 12 years ago, which was a bit strange! My oldest nephew is 3 and a typical boy, climbing walls and jumping onto anything. He even stood with muddy trainers on my foot when wearing these shoes. Eeek, I almost smacked him! I can't believe that I forgot just how much I adore these shoes. I got them a couple of years ago for Christmas and they had sold out online and I had to get them sent from the Carnaby Street store. It was worth the bother because they are just beautiful.

Day One Hundred & Ninety One - Spot Me

I adore leopard print, but haven't owned all that many shoes featuring the pattern until lately. I've been aware that I have at least 3 pairs of leopard courts which I haven't worn on the blog yet though, so last night as I fell asleep-I planned an outfit around wearing some leopard heels. I teamed them with spotty tights, a beautiful black short sleeved shift dress, a seriously smooth, backcombed up-do with bow hairband-then I chucked on some chunky pearls and huge black shades and then realised I looked like a copycat Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's! That wasn't actually my plan, although I'm sure Audrey wouldn't wear leopard platforms like these!

Day One Hundred & Ninety - Quiet Sky

I'm growing increasingly frustrated with myself. Sometimes I just feel like I'm wasting my life away and it's just passing me by. Perhaps it's because I'm turning 30 next month and I expected to be in a completely different place in my life than I am. Anyway, a bit of a strange day all round today. For the first time ever, there is absolutely no flying in the UK. It's not just airport closures, it's complete closure of the airspace due to the volcanic ash blowing over from Iceland. It's kinda creepy actually. Scotland expected to see the ash clouds this afternoon, but it couldn't be more clear and beautiful here!
Teddy print 'Love Games' with leg spatz Irregular Choice, I was tearing my hair out with these, it's actually really difficult to fasten the velcro spatz under your foot, because the heel of the shoe is so close to the sole and you have to fasten them once already on your leg. I wore them slightly scrunched down, but I wasn't really happy with the look.

Day One Hundred & Eighty Nine - Tartan Picnic

Showing my roots today in a pair of tartan shoes! It was quite miserable this morning, then brightened up later, so I picked the right pair of shoes to wear. I love the colours and the heel is quite modest which is helping rest my old ankle injury which has been playing up this week. Hope it's sunny where you are!

Day One Hundred & Eighty Eight - Hot, Hot, Hot!

Another lovely day today, although cold when you're in the shade. These boots are perfect for that 'transitional' period. An ankle boot but with mesh panels, cosy and cool! They make me look unbelievably tall, it's ridiculous, but aren't they just super slammin?

Day One Hundred & Eighty Seven - Purple High

I feel like we've been up in the 180's for ages or maybe I'm just keen to finally reach the milestone of 200 days! When I first started this blog, I honestly had no idea that I would ever get this far, truly. Anyway, I'm feeling very good today, I went shopping and had a lovely journey looking at the little lambs, piglets and horses in the fields. The swans were in the river, the sun shining, the town is busy and they're already putting up the stands for this years Open Golf Championship, a good day!

Day One Hundred & Eighty Six - Diamonds Are Forever

Now if we were to talk about shoes I adore, these would be right up there. I was pretty disappointed with last seasons collection from Irregular Choice, besides these diamond heeled shoes and boots. I would quite happily wear these every day for the rest of my life....well maybe. They are so comfy and the heel isn't too high, yet they look amazing. My friend thought they were absolutely beautiful and she hadn't even noticed the heel yet! I like that, because they are completely bonkers but not in your face!

Day One Hundred & Eighty Five - Magic Mushroom

I just got these shoes yesterday. I know this mushroom court has been a very popular style from Irregular Choice for many years. Currently, I'm trying to only get shoes that I really, really adore though and I was just a little disappointed with these. They look lovely, I'm just not keen on them on me, so think I'll be selling them. I'm trying to go on a strict no-buy for a month or so until I pay for all the stuff I've bought recently. Cue depression!

Day One Hundred & Eighty Four - Think Pink

Where are the days going to? I don't know! I start with good intentions then before you know it, it's 5 o'clock and nothing has been done. I spent yesterday taking photos of my new MAC stuff, so I've been resizing and labelling them, but it takes longer than you realise. I was supposed to go out today but haven't had time and my hair is in pin curls now and I've no makeup on, so I'm not going out now! Yesterday though, I just slipped on these peep toes, which I've always been meaning to pimp up a little bit. They'd look cute with bows or charms or something. Hope you're having a good weekend and did you win on the horses? I didn't bet, because I tend to bring bad luck on them, they always fall or get hurt and I can't breath every time they jump the fence anyway (shudder), poor horses!

Day One Hundred & Eighty Three - Hey There Stud!

Been shopping with Mama today. Not that I needed anything, but I wanted to get the Harajuku Lovers Sunshine Cuties gift and I needed to use my Debenhams Beauty Card rewards (got a free Lancome Juicy Tubes) before they expired. We popped into Primark and there were loads of new dresses, so I came away with 6 and a lizard brooch! Trying desperately to wear my more wintery shoes, although it's been bright sunshine and reasonably warm all day, so I probably looked like a bit of a numpty! These boots are super narrow and I needed a size up (even then they are quite snug, although fine in length).

Day One Hundred & Eighty Two - You Sleaze

Ah-mazing boots today, totally AMAZING! Do I really need to say anything? Yes, they look like expensive stripper boots, but I'm completely in love because I actually love stripper shoes! You probably won't believe me if I tell you they are easy to walk in...but they are.

Day One Hundred & Eighty One - Crocodile Tears

I am so behind with everything today. I coloured my hair yesterday, then had a migraine and had to go to bed, so I didn't have time for posting yesterday. This morning was spent browsing and buying from the MAC/Liberty collection and then I spent all afternoon trying to 'work' this new hair colour. Being darker, I can get away with much more dramatic makeup, but that's about the only plus, I otherwise hate it. I rushed todays photo and it shows, because these boots are really nice, but don't look great here. I'll maybe try and retake the images later or tomorrow, but didn't want to leave you picture-less for another day. *updated with new slightly better pic, decided these are lovely in the flesh but very unphotogenic!*Black patent croc concealed platforms New Look

Day One Hundred & Eighty - Easter Mayhem

Got my little boys tearing around the house today, it's mayhem. They've definitely eaten too many chocolate eggs! They've gone with grandparents and Mummy and Daddy to the park, so my sister and I have a little breather and peace! I'm wearing totally gorgeous shoes today which are so easy to walk in, I'm not kidding. I'm towering over everyone in them, they're massive. The flash washed out the colour slightly, they're a darker purple and doesn't everyone just love the flash of red sole? Happy Easter to you all!

Saturday 3 April 2010

I haven't enough energy for little photo sesh wearing shoes today. My nephews came around this morning and as cute as they are, they're also very tiring. I'm pooped (for use of a better word), so shoe wearing will have to wait until tomorrow, sorry guys. I've actually noticed a surge in people taking up the challenge to wear a different pair of shoes every day until they go through their entire collection. Isn't it funny how it seems a new concept to them and it's snowballing now, with more and more bloggers from around the world joining in? Well, just remember who started it first, waaaay back in July 2009!! I suppose it's good to see people getting use out of their shoes that were otherwise forgotten though.

Day One Hundred & Seventy Nine - Candy Cute

I'm sorry for the no-post yesterday. There was just too much going on and I didn't want to "waste" another pair of shoes when I wasn't even leaving the house. I'm sure todays boots will more than make up for it though! They were perfect for weather like this, bright and sunny, but still a little cold. I was feeling very spring like and wanted to break out the pretty pastel shoes. I bought these boots a few years ago and money was very tight at the time. I was supposed to get them for Christmas and by that time, they had sold out of my size. I went through the usual, cry, scream, "nooooo, why me?" drama, then realised I should just buy the bigger size (duh). They actually don't feel too big, which was a bonus and they are just as pretty inside as out (I'll post pics on Pink Haired Princess later). If I were to be defined by a shoe, this would probably be it, all pretty in pink with oodles of girlyness, seriously kooky, kitsch and over the top!
