Day 748 - We're Heading For Something

Shoes: Pewter glitter 'Gosford' Topshop

I took another little break from posting here this weekend; it was the usual story- eBaying and staying in my jammies! I did go out yesterday but hadn't had time to post the outfit until today. I've been struggling with this post actually because I've been suffering from really bad migraines almost every day (aside from y'day) for weeks now. It makes working on the computer very difficult (I feel like I could vomit right now) and the last thing I've wanted to do is sit and edit images (which I find pretty boring at the best of times)! There's nothing I can do or take for the migraines as it's incompatible with my other medication, so I just have to suffer and to be honest even if I didn't work and just lay in a dark room, it would still hurt, so I'm best to just get on with things and save myself a backlog of posts! Anyhoo, I felt like sparkles yesterday; it was a dull day, so twinkling toes cheered me up. I did snag my lovely tights though, where the glitter has rubbed...annoying!

Wearing: Black shift dress and polka dot coat Primark, black star tights Henry Holland.
Fit: True to size, bit of a fiddly buckle. Heel 4 3/4".
Comfort: Other than messing my tights up, no issues.

Day 747 - I'm A Die Hard Like Bruce Willis

Shoes: Black leather and leopard print 'Lita' Jeffrey Campbell

Brrrr, it's freezing outside (and inside!).  I've been saving these boots for the colder weather.  I've already blogged about them on Pink Haired Princess, comparing them to my other Lita's because this pair do have a different shape.  Having worn them and looking at the pictures, I do prefer the original shape more than these.  I like them from the front, but the upturned toe and shape of the platform look a little odd from other angles.  I love leopard print though, so I'm glad to add a pair of boots like these to my collection.  I decided to go all-out with leopard print socks too!  I got them for Christmas years ago from a friend and have never worn them (!), I found them when tidying the other day and they seemed like the perfect addition to this outfit!  I'm thinking this outfit is bordering on 'sensible' and 'practical', for me anyway!

Wearing:  Black double collar dress H By Henry Holland, black leggings, hat and polka dot coat Primark, leopard socks gift.
Fit: True to size (these are UK/EU sized), just over 5" heel and 2 1/2" platform.
Comfort:  No problems with these.

Day 746 - 'Cause With You I’m In My Mind, Without You, I’m Out It

Shoes: Pink bunny 'Abigail's Party' Irregular Choice

I was starting to think the weather people had fooled us into all this hype about 'winter coming' and being prepared for snow, because yesterday was a beautiful day.  To start with.  By the time I got dressed and right as I began taking these photos though, it got darker and darker, the wind picked up a bit and it started trying to rain.  It was pretty darn chilly out, but I was mostly cosy (could've done with gloves) and thankfully the rain never came to much.  The snow they forecast in some places hasn't hit and I think they're now saying it's mostly the hills that'll get it, phewee!  I played around with the laces on these boots today because they've always been quite snug and they felt a lot comfier.  My original pair of AP's are a great fit, but the newer versions seem to be a bit smaller.

Wearing: Floral dress with pockets (gotta love a dress with pockets), black leggings, hat and polka dot coat all Primark, cardigan Bonmarche.
Fit: A snug fit. Heel just over 4".
Comfort: No issues with these and easy to walk in.

Day 745 - We're The Song Inside The Tune

Shoes:  Black Blythe 'Akemi' Irregular Choice

What a difference weather-wise in a day (see my pic at the bottom, although it was much brighter in person-I was glad I wore sunglasses)! We had daylight, no lights on in the house, gorgeous blue skies and it was much warmer than I expected. I was preparing for winter, so it was a nice little surprise, not to have to get wrapped up for one day. I still wore a vest top under this dress and leggings, plus two cardigans for going outside, but I was boiling by the time I got home! I was glad to get to try out a more wintry styling with this dress though. Now these shoes, I bought years ago and haven't worn them outside before. The pom-poms had come loose and so I feared I would lose them and the ankle straps were ridiculously small with the widest hole still far too tight for my ankle. So a few months back, after they'd been sitting waiting for months previous to that, I set about fixing them up. I glued the pom-poms in place and they are now more sturdy than they ever had been and I pierced another hole in the strap, so I could wear the straps if I wanted. I suspect with longer wear the strap at the back will nip the heel as most styles like this do, tights could help, but thankfully for the short period I wore them yesterday, I didn't end up in pain (I already have a rather unsightly scabby heel from another pair of shoes last week). I wouldn't say the shoes are tight, but the fit is neat, there's not much room, but they might stretch a little with wear.

Wearing: Parrot dip hem, maxi-dress Dorothy Perkins, leggings Primark, cardigan Bonmarche.
Fit: Neat fit. Just under 4" heel and small concealed platform.
Comfort: See above, no major issues today.

Day 744 - The Radio's Playing Some Forgotten Song

Shoes: White Mash'a'Mallow Kandee

By golly, it's horrid outside today (see last pic)! Dreich, dark, misty, rainy and you can barely see what's in front of you. Inside there's hardly any light either, I completely forgot how little we get in winter and it makes taking photos really challenging. So it was out with the hat to try and protect the hair (the little that was exposed has now drooped rather horridly) and this was a rather comfortable and cosy outfit for the day. I could hardly get into my wardrobe this morning after a bout of cleaning yesterday that left me with bags (of plastic, paper, rubbish and charity-shop) piled up after I whoosed it all to one side before bed last night. Why is it that whenever you're in a cleaning-mood, it doesn't last long and you're left with remnants that you don't wish to tackle?

Wearing: 'Frida' floral dress Swan by Clements Ribeiro, leggings and coat Primark, cardigan Bonmarche, metal bow belt Topshop.
Fit: Small, take a whole size up.  5 3/4" heel and 1 1/4" double platform.
Comfort: A hard shoe that is so heavy it wants to pull away from the foot, which leaves you walking a bit 'clumpy'.  I think with tights they'd be comfier as they rubbed the balls of the foot at the sides.
