Day 959 - We're Left As Shells, We Lost The Fight

Shoes: Turquoise 'Tickling Loris' Irregular Choice

With one thing and another and me not really feeling up to it, I haven't been out or dressed much this month at all. This past week has just flown by (officially in panic mode for Christmas) and once more I'm left wondering where the time goes to! Anyway I've managed to get out once this week. My hair is straight and hiding because I'm about to colour it again and so there's no point curling it for that. It actually has felt a little more mild the past couple of days, so I managed to go out with bare feet and shoes, which I couldn't have imagined doing last week. I'm off to Glasgow on Sunday and staying overnight, so I'm trying to think ahead and plan what to wear-the shoes especially. They have to be comfortable enough to walk around in, but still look amazing. Oh and go with three outfits because I'm packing minimal! Not too much to ask is it?!

Wearing:  Black and white floral dress, leggings, polka dot coat and hat all Primark, cardigan Red Herring at Debenhams.
Fit: True in length but tight across the foot, I opted for the size up. Heel almost 4".
Comfort: Easy to walk in, the high vamp digs into the foot a little.

Day 958 - Yeah Every Single Time The Wind Blows

Shoes: Polka dot 'Mullner' Truth Or Dare

For the past couple of weeks my hair has been a nightmare, to the point of me wanting to shave it all off! I cut it a while back in frustration and usually that does the trick of fixing it, but it just hasn't been sitting like it usually does.  I have to add, I'm extremely lucky with my hair usually, in that it's possibly the lowest maintenance hair you can get.  I don't blow dry, use straighteners or even a hairbrush and I can get away with just running my fingers through it each day and it looking fine!  This week though, it's been all change and I was thinking "yay, got my cute little hairstyle back", happy dance and all that.  Yeah, then I went out on my walk and got caught in hailstones then a downpour.  Drookit rat~ is the only way I can describe how I looked when I got home!  I looked like a wet mop, hair straightened, feet soaked, feeling very sorry for myself!  So that's what happens when you get smug about your hair!  Speaking of, I'm holding off on colouring it (although it desperately needs it) because I have something to go to in 2 weeks time and then I need it to last and look nice for Christmas.  Which was only 5 weeks away yesterday!!!! I feel people aren't prepared enough, so am panicking on their behalf! Oh and fyi, these shoes are now half price-I know a lot of you liked them : )

~that'll be 'drowned rat' for non Scots!

Wearing:  Nicki Minaj t-shirt, pencil skirt and purple tights (and coat) Primark, cardigan Red Herring at Debenhams.
Fit: True to size (UK 5 is US 7.5), 4 3/4" heel and small platform.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day 957 - All My Agony Fades Away When You Hold Me In Your Embrace

Shoes: Pink 'Kitty Princess' Irregular Choice

I don't know the last time I wore these shoes, I think it's been forever! This pair were my first, then later I got the turquoise version and I think I've worn that colour more recently, but still some time ago! I think the last time I re-jigged the shoe-box situation in my room, I made an effort to keep these out and reachable. As I've been selling on eBay over the past couple of weeks, I've been searching through shoe-mountain and now it's as unsteady as ever! Getting one pair, has been a two-man job to avoid landslides and being buried beneath boxes and now every pile is slanting dreadfully. I've no idea how to get my winter boots out (which are at the bottom of the unsteady piles). I'm certainly not going to be able to venture into my Irregular Choice shoe wardrobe, as the mountain is sitting in front of both doors and I just can't get in there. This saddens me greatly as I know my leopard print boots and some other favourites are hidden in there. The builders are coming back on Thursday and starting to put our extension up (it's just been the foundations for weeks now), so hopefully next year I won't have these stresses, in my shoe-room!

Wearing: Pansy print 'Betty' dress Swan by Clements Ribeiro,  black tights (and floral coat) Primark, belt Dorothy Perkins.
Fit: True to size, just over 1" platform and 5" heel, button fastening (which I chose to wear to the front).
Comfort: The cat rubbed on one toe (only on one foot).

Day 956 - I Came In Like A Wrecking Ball

Shoes: Black spot 'Chuckles' Irregular Choice

So on Wednesday I went to Edinburgh with my Mum to see The Lion King at The Playhouse!  It's a long time since I've been to a show (think the last time was Notre Dame de Paris in London in 2001) and as you know I went to Edinburgh a few weeks ago, but hadn't been for years before that.  Obviously it was a very tiring trip for me and I'll be sore for a couple of weeks, but the novelty of getting to act almost 'normal' for a day is not lost on me.  We 'walked' it rather than taking the wheelchair and actually it was fine, it seems to have been the prolonged sitting that's caused more pain than the walking.  I was quite proud of myself for managing it all and the show was great.  Now, I'm used to getting stared at when out and about, but I (naively) figured if I was in a bigger city like Edinburgh, nobody would look twice.  Eh no, when you're wearing gnomes on your feet, everybody stares!  Honestly everywhere I went, people were gawping and wondering about my hair and shoes and outfit.  Having been on the receiving end of many a rude comment over the years, it was a pleasant change and it seems to have amused a lot of people that day (I even got a "loving your style doll" from a nutter with only two teeth) er yeah thanks!  Hello to the lovely girl that nearly knocked my Mum off the escalator, trying to ask where I got my shoes from! I hope you find yourself a pair : )

Wearing: Floral wiggle dress ASOS, leopard print fishnet tights House of Holland, red patent belt gift (Madeira), green charming bag Love Moschino, perspex necklace and hairband Limited Edition Primark, fox, parrot and frog rings Miss Selfridge, other ring my Grannys.
Fit: Very small and tight fitting, so I sized up. 4 1/2" heel, velcro strap fastening.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day 955 - Never Understood This Life

Shoes: Green lace 'Ella' Terry De Havilland

My Tumblr and Facebook pages got a peek at these shoes earlier in the week. However I've not been able to write the full post up until today. The shoes are amazing and well worth waiting for! One of my favourite pairs for sure. I kept the rest of my outfit fairly simple, aside from my sparkly hairband to cover a really bad hair day (it was so ridiculously soft it wouldn't do anything). I don't have much else to add really, so a short post today : )

Wearing: Crochet collar dress Pearl Lowe, black tights and hairband (limited edition) Primark.
Fit: True to size. Heel 5 1/4" and 1" platform.
Comfort: No issues with these, other than the laces are very 'slippy' and can come undone.

Day 954 - You Even Get Suspicious When I Paint My Nails

Shoes: Taupe 'Saflufy' Faith

I've been super busy with eBay again this weekend, so this outfit had to wait until today. Then when I went to edit the photos, I realised I took none of the shoes. Like not even rubbish, out of focus ones, none at all! I'm losing it!  So today I'm half dressed wearing these boots and my jammies to take photos of them!  I don't think I'd normally wear furry boots so 'early' into winter but it was really cold the other day and all I wanted was comfy wee boots.  This is another one of my bargain £8 dresses, not my favourite print, but you can't really go wrong at £8 can you?  I found this belt the other day, which had been hidden under a pile of crap for months and forgotten about and it added a nice touch.  This week will possibly be quite sporadic again as I'm going to Edinburgh on Wednesday (I don't go for years then twice in a matter of weeks), to see The Lion King at The Playhouse!  I'll be out of the house all day and I'm not sure how I'll be feeling for the rest of the week because it's going to be exhausting for me.  Plus my internet is acting crazy right now, like really slow to the point of repeatedly losing connection. It's irritating to say the least!

Wearing: Red tile print dress and leggings Primark, gold tortoise belt ASOS, clover cardigan Swan by Clements Ribeiro.
Fit: True to size, 4 1/4" heel, lace up front.
Comfort: Easy to walk in, no problems.
