Day 1258 - Shoesday Tuesday

Irregular Choice Ava's Aviary
Shoes: Ava's Aviary | Irregular Choice

An oldie for you today as I've not been able to take new photos.  Last week, I reviewed my bargaintastic camo Quartz Order if you missed those.  We're heading way back to 2017 today with the birdcage heels.  I took these photos in 2019, so even they're old!  It's actually making me quite sad seeing these, as there's absolutely nothing of this level at IC for me now or lately.  For several seasons, I've been struggling to get excited about the styles, they're doing nothing for me.  Heels are low, colours and themes aren't my bag and shapes just aren't what they used to be.

Day 1256 - Shoesday Tuesday

Irregular Choice Garden Gala
Shoes: Garden Gala (green) | Irregular Choice

Last week I reviewed Bunny Palette which sadly had to be returned, I'm still gutted about that, but there's no point in keeping something I was unhappy with, especially if I couldn't cover that part.  This week, I have something you've seen before but in a different colour.

Day 1247 - Shoesday Tuesday

Irregular Choice Rosie Posy
Shoes: Rosie Posy | Irregular Choice (Rosanna Gault)

Like Teddy Toes last week, my shoes today are also from SS17.  Back in 2010, Irregular Choice collaborated with the London College Of Fashion, where Rosanna Gault and So Yeon Sarah had their designs made, in a very limited collection.  Rosanna was asked to rework her cut-out heart heel and floating platforms for SS17, where we were treated to 6 more variations.  I ended up with 5 of those, some of which I've not yet shared here, though they all fit similarly.

Day 1239 - Shoesday Tuesday

Irregular Choice Shoot For The Stars
Shoes: Shoot For The Stars | Irregular Choice

Today I have another style from AW21, after my Little Red Riding Hood inspired ankle boots last week, from the same season. Shoot For The Stars grabbed my attention when they launched, but unsure of how practical they'd be for me, I didn't buy them. I kept going back to them and decided to take the plunge recently at a very good sale price. They came in 2 colours and I had the option of both. Initially I was drawn to the more green pair (you know me!), but it wasn't until I saw 'real' photos of these that I realised how green and blue they were too.  The lightning bolt on this pair, have a mirrored finish with printed stars.  The colour flips between bright green and blue in the light, often with purple in between, which you'll see throughout my photos.

Day 1232 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing unicorn seahorse striped tights and matching ankle boots
Shoes: Daisy Dreams | Irregular Choice

When I spoke last week about having to compromise on certain aspects of footwear these days, these boots immediately sprung to mind.  Daisy Dreams launched for SS19 and while I instantly loved the theme and colours, the heel height was really off-putting for me.  With such a large platform, it essentially takes the heel down to a very small 2 1/4", which means your foot is almost flat inside.  It's nowhere near the elevation my feet are accustomed to.

Day 1221 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing Irregular Choice Santas Workshop boots
Shoes: Santas Workshop | Irregular Choice

My boots from the Irregular Choice Christmas collection eventually arrived last week, after the mix-up with next day delivery.  They felt like the most "me" pair from the launch and were the only footwear purchase I made that day, despite buying lots of other bits.  However, I don't think I'll be keeping them, which I'm pretty disappointed about...they just don't suit me and I'll discuss that later.

Day 1206 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing black knit ankle boots with Eiffel Tower heel and Paris poodle tights
Shoes: Black Eiffel Tower heeled sock boots | Vetements

I had hoped to have something from my Irregular Choice Sanrio order to show you today, but unfortunately it's not arrived yet. I don't know if I'm keeping all I bought, the collection was quite big and making decisions quickly isn't something I'm good at. I like time to think!  I'd rather return something I didn't need, than regret not buying it in the first place and it selling out. I definitely splurged when it came to the bags and accessories, so I'd feel guilty if I kept all that. I got a few pairs of shoes, but I mostly fell in love with the trainers and boots, which I don't wear, so at least they were easy to discount. I've said it before, but it's really hard to justify shoes and bags to myself at the moment when I'm never leaving the house and it doesn't look like that will change anytime soon. I've completely lost all desire to go out and our town is just hoaching with mostly non-masked holiday makers, students and visitors. It would be stressful rather than enjoyable, going out in that.

Day 1183 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing patterned gaming tights with pinball themed wedge shoes
Shoes: High Score | Irregular Choice

The Irregular Choice sale came to a close this week, so I bought the final pieces I'd had on my wishlist (well the bits that were still in stock). Then I got the guilts, even although I've been coveting them since they launched last year! I was in two minds about whether or not to keep these ones, but after trying them on with these tights, I decided they were a keeper. Unfortunately the photos turned out quite dark and brightening them just made the tights look white (when they aren't) and I was getting that moiré thing going on too, so I've stalled on this post all day! However, here we are.

Day 1179 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing galactic tights with silver pointed booties with large bow
Shoes: Power Surge | Irregular Choice

These shoe-boots are from the SS20 Lightning Bolt collection.  You may remember I bought the fluffy unicorn print Heavens Above and pastel Galactic Thunder on launch day, after struggling to decide my favourites in this range!  I was intrigued by these little booties, which also came in pink, black or turquoise.  After much deliberation, I decided the silver were my favourite and picked them up in the summer sale.  What drew me to these, were the pink heel as it was really different to my other 2 pairs which are mirrored metallic.  This one is not at all like I thought, I was expecting a shiny finish, but it's matte, rubberised, a bit like Nars makeup packaging.  I really love the bright rainbow slub throughout the silver fabric and they have a bit of an 80's electro vibe in style and colour.

Day 1163 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing floral patent ankle boots with dinosaur heels, wide fishnet tights and metallic socks
Shoes: Irregular Choice Roarsum (by Tomi Platts)

I'm back with another shoe fit review and this is a pair I'll also be reviewing in closer detail on Pink Haired Princess in the near future, so keep an eye out for that.  I did blog the other week over there and explained that I have a new laptop, so I'm struggling with uploading and editing photos and I do feel the colour is 'off' here, but thankfully just of my legs and the background rather than the actual shoes and that's what you're here to see!  So, Tomi designed this colourway of the mega popular Roarsum dino heels.  You probably know I have a pair of the originals (fit review here), in the croc-patent-floral material, so I'll refer back to those in this post, along with the other dino heels that launched last year for Family Reunion, Jurassotops.

Day 1131 - Shoesday Tuesday

Shoes: Irregular Choice Disney Toy Story 'You Are A Toy!*

Hello gang! It's been a long time since I've been able to post here. I've been sitting on these photos for a looong time!  Since May actually and I was editing them on the train during my London trip, hoping nobody was sneaking a look over my shoulder and seeing them before they should!  Without fail though, every Tuesday, I've had a migraine and/or spent the entire day sleeping. It's been rather freaky how regular it's been, so Shoesday was never getting a look in! This week though, I'm going for it, so here's my first pair of Toy Story boots.

Day 1123 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing fur heeled Irregular Choice Muppets Animal Louder Louder red shoes
Shoes:  Irregular Choice Muppets Louder! Louder!

I'm sorry this post is later than intended.  I've had two days of internet so slow, it was almost non-existent.  It was a nightmare as I just couldn't do anything, it wouldn't open anything, images wouldn't load, flash certainly wouldn't work and it never once properly lost connection ("there are no issues with your connection", I beg to differ matey)! So yeah, you know when you get the rage, like THE rage, I was at that point.  It was either me or the laptop about to be launched out the window, it was so frustrating.  Then yesterday afternoon, it just reverted back to normality.  So weird.  Something was definitely amiss somewhere and it wasn't anything to do with my laptop.  Also next day deliveries that don't arrive next day....I don't get it.  It's not a complex concept, you pay for it, you order before the cut-off, then they take 2 days to deliver it, just because they feel like it.  What?  If I can have another moan, winter.  Ok, I quite like it, I enjoy the run-up to Christmas, I don't mind seeing decorations and hearing Christmas tunes, but the lack of daylight, I can't stand it.  I forget every single year, how ridiculously early it gets dark (currently just before half 4 here) and that I have a very small window of opportunity in which to take photos for the blog.  I don't have the patience for it.  Anyway moany moan over, let's talk Muppet shoes!  You can find my Miss Piggy ankle boots here and today it's the turn of Animal.

Day 1121 - Shoesday Tuesday

Irregular Choice Maya birdcage boots on the foot
Shoes: Irregular Choice blue and pink birdcage Maya boots

I have the very latest character heel from Irregular Choice to show you today. I've just reviewed them in more detail on Pink Haired Princess, so head over there afterwards for that. I said there that they are a similar shape to my Glissade or Call Me Cinders in the foot, though obviously these are a taller boot. They hit mid-calf on me and I bought them in my usual size (5/38) after much deliberating. Both those other styles I sized up in, hence the dilemma. Glissade were super small and just fitted in the bigger size, CMC were more generous, so a little bit of wiggle room in the size up. I've been finding IC big lately (mostly) and I figured with the zip and laces, I could fiddle around until they fit.

Day 1115 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing irregular choice eros white satin wing shoes
Shoes:  Irregular Choice Eros

Narrowing down the pictures for Shoesday was rather difficult this week, they all looked fantastic. I've picked a selection anyway, so you can see every angle. It's a very wingy week for you this week as I'm styling these on The Shoe Girl Styles It as well as wearing them here.  I knew if I got them in my hands, I could make them work.  Like I said in my TSGSI post, white shoes and especially those made of satin aren't exactly typical everyday wear, but I absolutely love the contrast here with the black fishnets.  It was exactly what they needed to escape the bridal zone.

So last week I showed you the Miami flamingo sandals from the recent collaboration between Irregular Choice and US store Ashbury Skies. The second pair I bought from the USA Road Trip collection was New York.

Day 1107 - Shoesday Tuesday

irregular choice disney cinderella sparkling slipper shoes
Shoes: Irregular Choice Sparkling Slipper (Cinderella)

I wasn't going to blog today after what happened in Manchester, it just didn't feel right to be discussing shoes after something so terrible. I watched it unfold last night and this morning I just woke up feeling so sad. Everyone seems to have an opinion (I'm sure we've all witnessed the good, the bad and the ugly on social media and TV today) but the truth is, there's no comforting words at this time. For those involved or hurt or the families of the dead and injured, that'll be the worst day of their lives and theories on how to "not let them win" just won't matter at this time. I'm sure I'm not alone in this, but I feel a bit guilty actually that I have the luxury of being able to choose to carry on.  Although it's never left my mind all day, I can try and write this blog post and get on with my day.  I can choose not to listen or read any more about it when it becomes too much. There's no escape for those families though and I just feel terribly sorry about that. The only thing I think the rest of us can take away from situations like this is, there always seems to be more people willing to help than harm and we have to have faith in that, no matter our beliefs or thoughts on these situations and that's all I'll say x
                                                        ------------------------------------
So it's been a little while since I've managed a post here. Last week I did a strange thing and almost completed a post, then chickened out of posting it because I wasn't happy with the photos. It's really not like me to do that, I've always shown you every outfit regardless of it being good or bad, but that's what happened. Anyway, I love this outfit, but it has a story (quite a long one, I'll warn you). So my youngest cousin was getting married last month. We'd known for a while and the cousins were invited at night and because it was held locally, I was able to go. It was still a big outing and effort considering all that's been going on, but I was looking forward to getting dressed up for once. It turned out none of my other cousins could make it (other than the sisters of the groom) as they all either live far away and/or have kids, so it was just my sisters, my brother in law and our Aunties and Uncles. I had a beautiful dress that I planned to wear from pretty much the moment he got engaged! Then I lost lots of weight over the past year and a bit and when it came to trying it on, it was massive. I could literally fit another person inside, it was huge everywhere and drowned me (and not salvageable at all). So, I was kind of torn with what to do.

Day 1101 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing irregular choice rosanna gault rosie cheeks
Shoes: Rosie Cheeks, Rosanna Gault for Irregular Choice

Last week I wore my new Rosie With Love boots and today I have Rosie Cheeks to show you. I reviewed them in more detail here, but I'll talk more about the fit today. Before they arrived I expected a similar fit to my original Rosy cuffed courts, but they are completely different. Rosy were quite snug on me, especially across the top at the widest part of my foot. If you look at the shoe, the bit where you insert your foot, basically looked like a hole cut out of the uppers, whereas the top edge of the new shoe is much more shapely this time. It appears to be lower cut at the front and definitely higher at the sides towards the back end of the shoe. Aesthetically it looks much prettier both on and off the foot, but it is causing some issues.

Day 1091 - Shoesday Tuesday (Extra)

wearing irregular choice cinderella sparkling slipper shoes
Shoes:  Irregular Choice Sparkling Slipper (Cinderella)

I didn't want to say anything yesterday, until I knew it was achievable, but I'm aiming to bring you Shoesday posts every day this week! I'm still dealing with the Photobucket/image hosting issue, so am trying to do an hour of that a day (re-uploading all of those photos). It's slow going (there's no way an hour a day will get it finished by August, but it's all the time I have right now) and monotonous especially as I'm just covering old ground and constantly uploading and re-uploading the same photos. So I've had to pause The Shoe Girl Styles It posts for now as they are just too time consuming to manage every week, so I figured I'd treat you elsewhere! Plus, I have tonnes of shoes to get through and it'll literally be Christmas before I finish Cinderella and show you the new squirrel and Santa heels. So I had a mass try-on yesterday, photographing them all, which was the hard (physical) part, so hopefully I'll manage to post them all this week for you. There's a lot to talk about regarding sizing on those new ones, so I wanted to do it while they were current.

Day 1089 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing irregular choice call me cinders
Shoes: Call Me Cinders Irregular Choice (Cinderella)

Apologies this is almost a week late, I wrote about my brief hiatus over on Pink Haired Princess earlier tonight, so that should explain my absence.  I've been desperate to show you these shoes too, so I was getting really agitated having to wait!! I had a feeling these would be the pair I'd really like (before release) but both Call Me Cinders and Home Before 12 (metallic pink with gold glitter) had been delayed and were released a couple of weeks after the initial Cinderella collection, so there was a bit of a wait.

Day 1052 - Shoesday Tuesday

Shoes: Schuh glitter Crazy courts*

Argh, what a manic week so far! I have sooo many blog posts on the go at once between here and Pink Haired Princess and I'm juggling them all, trying to prioritise which should come first because at the weekend, I have something really exciting which is going to be quite time consuming. I've been quite busy in life too...darn that's just reminded me of the outfit/shoes I was supposed to post today, I knew I'd forget something!! Well yes, I had an appointment with the doctor last week, getting told off for leaving it 6 months since my last visit, but I don't like to bother him and have nothing new to say. It went well, other than adding a new medication to my already thriving list!  I took outfit photos and it was my first time wearing the shoes (I posted photos on my Instagram and Facebook), but alas I forgot about that, until now. The reason being, I was distracted by these glitter beauties which came last week.
