Day 1009 - Shoesday Tuesday

Shoes: Blue glitter 'Leila' Carvela

Hello, back into my routine and time for another Shoesday Tuesday.  I trust you've all had a lovely time over Christmas and are looking forward to the new year?  I'll be glad to put 2014 behind me and hope 2015 is a little kinder.  So I thought we should have some sparkles today.

Day 1006 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing Carvela Leila Shoes
Shoes: Gold glitter 'Leila' Carvela

Hola peeps, sorry for the later than usual post.  I've been elbow deep in a few 'behind the scenes' blog changes this week.  HTML and fun sugar like that.  You realise the whole day has passed by and you've not much to show for it (but a sore head).  I have adopted a slightly different approach to my posts, you'll note the 'continue reading' jump.  Like so.

Day 952 - The Lies I Weave Are Oh So Intricate

Shoes: Wine patent 'Active' Carvela at Kurt Geiger

Wow, why don't I wear these shoes more often? They're stunning! Hmm, well there is the almost 6" heel and huge platform, not to mention the most fiddly darn buckles on the planet! Honestly took me nearly 15 minutes to buckle them! Despite the height though, you feel pretty safe in them and can walk fast enough. I was concentrating mind you and doing that 'please don't let me stand on a stray stone and topple' thing! They are such a gorgeous rich colour and just perfect with this dress. I think I normally wear a belt with this as it's quite loose fitting on me, but I didn't bother this time. I looked quite Granny-ish....if your Granny wears platforms! The lighting is a bit strange in the face shots below, was trying out a new space, but the light (sun) is either blinding or barely there.  Oh and the hairband, I just knew this would come to my rescue on a bad hair day and it did. It's sooooo pretty, definitely my new favourite thing.

Wearing: 'Celia' dress Swan by Clements Ribeiro, gold star tights House of Holland.
Fit: A little snug, but stick to your usual size. Heel 5 3/4", platform 1 1/2". Adjustable buckle fastening.
Comfort: They are high, so probably not for everyone but I didn't have any specific issues with them.

Day 940 - You Couldn't Keep Your Hands To Yourself

Shoes: Pink glitter 'Antibes' Carvela

I've had two 12 hour colds in the past week or so (random and weird or what?) but the third attempt seems to have stuck. It's not overly bad; started with a blocked nose/unable to breathe but has now turned into a sore throat and I feel weakened and tired with it. I've not been very regular in getting dressed and going out, so really tried to get back into my routine yesterday despite the cold. It called for oodles of girly sparkles with these pink courts! Sometimes you just need glitter. Have I worn this dress before? I know I've attempted many times and always change because I feel uncomfortable in it, but it felt looser this time. It's cute, just not a great fit for me. Anyway, with the strong winds we've been getting, it was all blown up around my head yesterday! Err not really kidding ; ) Oh and I almost forgot to mention the new blue hair!! I just dyed it on Monday and absolutely loooove it, what do you think?

Wearing: Blue stripe daisy dress H By Henry Holland, suede leggings Primark, pink bow brooch gift.
Fit: Slim fit, but take your usual size. 4 1/2" heel.
Comfort: Mine are a size larger and they are slightly too big, would fit better with insoles.

Day 887 - Cause Your Shine Is Somethin' Like A Mirror

Shoes: Gunmetal glitter 'Attack' Carvela

Hello!  A nice summery outfit for another lovely day.  It was actually almost too hot for me as there wasn't much breeze and I'm not very good with a lot of heat, but I shouldn't complain though.  My friend gave me this bow for my birthday and I figured it would look pretty cute with this dress, which hasn't seen the light of day since last summer.  Peach, coral and orange aren't colours I particularly like or wear often, although I do have a few items (like this dress) that I really love despite the colour.  I ran into the conundrum of what colour to wear with it and decided to go for grey with this cardi and shoes.  I love when you wear something really sparkly outside of Christmas and everyone stares at you like you've lost the plot...or maybe it was the bow! Who cares, I felt like a little dolly in this outfit : )

Wearing:  Peach spot pleated dress Primark, leopard cardigan Be Beau at Matalan, belt taken from another dress, skull bow gift.
Fit: Run narrow, but I felt the next size up were gaping in places, so stuck to my regular size. 4 3/4" heel.
Comfort: Can crush your toes after a while.
And a moving gif just because I felt like it!

Day 843 - I Could Feel My Eyes Turning Into Dust

Shoes: Wine 'Sleaze' Carvela at Kurt Geiger

Ah, it's so nice to be back! We've had dreary weather, sleet mainly, so there's no point in me getting dressed to go out and get soaked, so I've been going a little crazy indoors over the past few days. I missed blogging here though : ) I stumbled upon these boots when looking for something else at the weekend and wanted to wear them because it's been a while. This dress is the perfect partner in terms of colour, I wasn't entirely convinced by the length of dress with the boots or maybe it was the grey tights that were off-putting. Anyway I love the dress and it was soooo cold today that I needed the thick tights and boots. Despite their height, the boots are actually very easy to walk in. The elasticated section at the side gives just enough for movement when walking, but feels very secure and usually ankle boots have a habit of rubbing around the top, no issues there (although they have 'pulled' my tights where the zip is-grrrr).

Wearing: Geo print 'Celia' dress Swan by Clements Ribeiro, wine belt Swan by Clements Ribeiro, grey tights Primark.
Fit: True to size, full length zip so you don't have to take out the laces. Heel height 5 1/2", platform 1 1/4".
Comfort: I actually found these really steady and walked very confidently in them.

Day 786 - It Was A Long And Dark December

Shoes: Gunmetal glitter 'Attack' Carvela

Hello! This is my last 'backlog' post; it's my 'Boxing Day' outfit and I've had jammie days ever since! Terrible I know! I've not been outdoors since Christmas Eve! Anyway, I've had this dress for ages, but never really had an occasion to wear it.  Bold red isn't a colour I usually wear, so it's a little outside my comfort zone.  The dress itself has a rather strange fit I think; The 18 was miles too big, the 14 was far too tight in the skirt and a little tight in the bust, the 16 (which I'm wearing) is still quite big.  I just wish the shape was a little less fussy, like the 'Betty' dresses, because there's too much gaping fabric and strange little folds and tucks going on.  The shoulders and sleeves are really massive, as is around the waist (although not after all I ate on Boxing Day), so I think I need to play around with the sleeves especially and sort them out (which means it goes on the 'must fix' pile that I'll ignore all year)!  I like the shoulder embellishment and the length is pretty and I actually think the colour is a pleasant change for me.  Of course my glitter Carvela shoes were just screaming to be worn with this dress, even if I had just worn them a couple of days earlier! I think I've now managed to wear them with bare legs, tights and leggings, so they're proving rather versatile.  Hope you all have a happy new year, if we don't speak before then x

Wearing: Red 'Joan' dress Swan by Clements Ribeiro, belt gift, panda ring and flower ring Jon Richard at Debenhams, spike ear cuff ASOS, clip earrings Debenhams, flower hair clip gift.
Fit: Run narrow, but I felt the next size up were gaping in places, so stuck to my regular size. 4 3/4" heel.
Comfort: Can crush your toes after a while.

Day 784 - Thought I Heard You Say You Love Me

Shoes: Gunmetal glitter 'Attack' Carvela

Merry Christmas! I'm just blogging a little here and there, when I can over Christmas. Christmas Eve is usually my busiest time, I like to make it to both the 'christingle' and 'midnight carol' services at church and am normally running around wrapping last-minute presents too! For the earlier service I wore this outfit; I'd wanted this dress the moment I saw it as I love the pansy print and it's a similar shape to my heart dress which I really adore. I snagged it in the sale a few weeks back and it's super pretty in person too. I teamed it with my star tights and some super sparkly shoes!

Wearing: Pansy 'Betty' dress Swan by Clements Ribeiro, black star tights Henry Holland.
Fit: Run narrow, but I felt the next size up were gaping in places, so stuck to my regular size. 4 3/4" heel.
Comfort: No issues with these, although the heel height won't be for everyone.

Shoes: Green metallic 'Little Fish' Irregular Choice
Later at night, I changed into something a little cosier and comfier. It was raining, so I was aiming for 'reasonably sensible' (which we all know is nowhere near real-sensible). So I popped on my spotty Dorothy Perkins dress you can see here (it was far too dark to take photos at this time of night) and my green boots.

Fit: I've tried both sizes and while my regular size fit, I was more comfortable in the size-up. Heel 4 1/4", slip on.
Comfort: No issues.
