Day 872 - Here Comes The Hotstepper

Shoes: Quilted 'Phoenix' ASOS Premium

Today I bring you my outfit from Monday. I'm just back from a wee holiday (an overnight stay counts as a 'holiday' right?), so I'm pretty excited about outfits that will have a different backdrop to usual! Back to Monday though and man I was a sickly wee thing that day! It was either allergies or a one-day-cold, but I resembled Rudolph and sniffled and sneezed my way through the day. The last thing I felt like doing was getting dressed and wearing makeup, but I'm a dedicated blogger and stopped every 10 seconds to plug my nose then fake smile for photos! It was quite funny because I finally figured out my holiday wardrobe, only to burst the zip on my Making Moves (Irregular Choice) shoes that I was taking (the fabric part of the zip has split and come away from the seam). I actually started crying! I don't cry over stuff like that usually, but it was one of those days and they are one of my favourite pairs : ( Back to this outfit and I forgot I owned these shoes, I used to looooove them. They are pretty high, but bearable and easy enough to walk in.

Wearing:  Stars and moon dress H By Henry Holland, leggings and coat Primark.
Fit: Premium styles tend to be smaller made, I needed a full size up in these. Heel 4 5/8", lace up front.
Comfort: Would probably ache after a lengthy wear, but were easy enough to walk in.

Day 741 - My Pantyline Shows-Got A Run In My Hose

Shoes: Ivory and black 'Parkie' ASOS Premium

Following on from the last post regarding outfits not always working, I was less than happy with this one today and the Shania lyrics (and indeed the whole song) felt very fitting as a title. I always start with something in my head, then sometimes it doesn't really work out and in this case I chopped and changed my mind a gazillion times and just settled with this because I was too shattered to find anything else! I was in and out of my wardrobe, reaching into far corners of piles of shoe boxes and I either couldn't find what I was looking for or it didn't look or feel right. I felt uncomfortable in practically everything I tried on and even these leggings were annoying me for the rest of the day, they felt like they were falling down (which I suspect is from my more rounded than usual tummy)!  It's going to be a nightmare tonight, putting all the abandoned clothes and shoes away again.  Unlike a lot (and quite possibly the majority) of bloggers who post 'daily' outfits, I publish every single outfit I ever wear, not just occasional days in a week or outfits I particularly like. So I suppose looking at it that way, I'm bound to discover some outfits that I'm not completely keen on or have my 'off' days. What about you, are you glad to have some days off from blogging or hate when an outfit doesn't work regardless of who sees it?

Wearing: Cream lace dress Pearl Lowe (Peacocks), dog print leggings H By Henry Holland, black cardigan Primark.
Fit: Very small, I had to go up a size. 5 1/2" chunky heel and 1 3/4" platform.
Comfort: The only issues I find are little stones getting stuck in the sole thus making them unsteady, you just have to be aware of it and kick them off as you go.

Day 710 - My Best Friend Say She Used To F*** With Usher

Shoes: Ivory and black 'Parkie' ASOS Premium

The day started off lovely, then just before I was about to pop out, the rain started. I didn't think I'd get out for my walk, but eventually did. I hadn't intended to wear any of this outfit, then suddenly changed my mind to wear the dress (as I might not get another chance before Autumn). As I was looking for my black Bertie wedges to pair it with, I spied these shoes which I haven't worn for ages and decided they could work. I struggled to keep my dress out of the way when leaning over to take photos of my feet and didn't have anything to prop my camera on-but in the end I liked this image better than the ones without the dress in it. It's definitely getting colder now and I felt like a bit of an idiot out in my summery dress walking past people in anoraks and fleeces, but I'm not willingly giving up my summer wardrobe just yet!

Wearing: Polka dot dress Primark cardigan Be Beau at Matalan, belt taken from another dress.
Fit: Very small, I had to go up a size. 5 1/2" chunky heel and 1 3/4" platform.
Comfort: The only issues I find are little stones getting stuck in the sole thus making them unsteady, you just have to be aware of it and kick them off as you go.

Day 667 - If You Want To Talk You Can Call

Shoes: Black and nude pleated 'Alice' shoe boot ASOS

I was a little unsure what to wear today and this outfit just kinda happened!  I ended up changing the shiny leggings into my regular black ones before leaving the house though, because they kept falling down!  There's nothing worse than uncomfortable leggings!

Wearing:  Spotty navy dress and swallow cardigan Dorothy Perkins,  leggings Primark, hair corsage gift.
Fit: 5 1/4" heel and small platform, all 3 buckles open. Definitely size up on these.
Comfort: They are high, but you feel very steady on them.

Day 529 - Dots, Stripes And Pleats

Shoes: Black and nude pleated 'Alice' shoe boot ASOS

Once again I have no recollection of which day this was...it could've been Sunday maybe. I'm wearing the polka dot version of the tile print dress I'd worn a few days earlier. I wasn't sure if there's too much going on with the pleated boots and striped sections on my tights-still not really convinced the whole thing worked. I love these shoes though, absolutely adore them, they are so fabulous. The tights are great in theory, I'm just not sure they fit my style.

Wearing: Dotty dress Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, "Prudence" tights Red Or Dead, gingham hair bow Yama Yama Pretty Mama.
Fit: 5 1/4" heel and small platform, all 3 buckles open. Definitely size up on these.
Comfort: They are high, but you feel very steady on them.

Day 510 - In New York

Shoes: Ivory and black 'Parkie' ASOS Premium

I'm really glad I've got another dress that's too long to wear with leggings, because I have so many lovely pairs of tights that otherwise wouldn't get worn. I really need to sort out my shoe storage, I almost killed myself unearthing this box of shoes from a rather dangerously high pile! However it was worth it because I just love the chunky, 70's vibe you get from wearing these-contrasting with the modern tights (loooove these so much) and then the retro dress. Makes me think of something you would see in Dr Quinn with that collar, which is what is taking up my afternoons. I love that show and the episodes on just now I haven't seen before...and I've cried through every single one, heehee, it's good stuff!

Wearing: Lace collar dress Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, House of Holland New York Citights
Fit: Very small, I had to go up a size. 5 1/2" chunky heel and 1 3/4" platform.
Comfort: The only issues I find are little stones getting stuck in the sole thus making them unsteady, you just have to be aware of it and kick them off as you go.
