Day 1098 - Shoesday Tuesday

wearing christmas tinsel shoes
Shoes: Customised tinsel court shoes

Hello, today I have my new year outfit that I intended to show you a couple of weeks ago, but the flu put paid to that!  Our Christmas had been pretty quiet; my sister and her family alternate their Christmas (with the in-laws) and they weren't at us this year.  Mum wasn't feeling well, my other sister had a cold and so we just had a day in our jammies, which was rather nice.  Boxing Day was a lot busier, but I'll show you that outfit next week.  After loving getting dressed up then, I decided I'd do it on New Year's Day as well, even although it was just the four of us having our meal.  Then on the actual day I was pretty tired so wasn't going to bother, but I pushed myself to do it, as I had nothing better to do quite frankly (!) and I'd really wanted to wear these shoes I'd made.  You can read my tutorial post here if you missed it, but I didn't have an outfit planned to wear with them at all.

Day 1029 - Shoesday Tuesday

feet wearing black tights and nude lace court shoes with bow
Shoes: Nude Mal E Bow Irregular Choice

I can count on the one hand the number of times I've left the house this year. Then, I had physio last week, a dentist appointment, which led to another (in the same week), then a few days later a trip to the doctor. With my birthday sandwiched in the middle!* Suffice to say I'm pooped!  I'm not sure if I'll post all my outfits...well actually I might reenact the ones I didn't take photos of at the time, because it's more exciting when you see a wee bit more than shoes, isn't it?

Day 946 - I'm Mad You Think I Hurt You

Shoes: Nude satin 'Bailey' KG by Kurt Geiger

Today was a bit of a strange day. I was late to bed last night (getting stuck back into eBay-nothing exciting!), then rudely awakened by the workmen (at a ridiculous hour)-cue whole house shaking, drilling and banging like you've never heard! So I got up, did a little internet shopping, had a shower and usually I would write the rest of the day off, but I got dressed and went out for a walk. I knew the forecast was for torrential rain tomorrow and as I haven't been out much lately, I wanted some fresh air while I could. Plus I miss doing my outfit posts when I'm stuck in my jammies all day!  So I suppose the early start was actually a help to me.  I didn't manage a Monster High Monday makeup look again this week sadly, but I'm hoping to get back into the swing of it again soon.

Wearing: Heart print dress and tights Primark, red patent belt and horse scarf gifts, black cardigan Red Herring.
Fit: True to size, 4 3/4" heel.
Comfort: Aching arches, but they don't rub and are easy enough to walk in.

Day 871 - Let Me Tell You Now There Are Prices To Fame Alright

Shoes: Nude satin 'Bailey' KG by Kurt Geiger

Hello chickies! This is one pair of shoes I wouldn't be packing on my trip, my poor wee arches were aching after wearing them for around an hour! I'm staying overnight in Glasgow next week and it's the first time I've been let out of my cave in a looong time. I'm trying to plan my packing well in advance (have always hated packing), but I'm struggling with the narrowing it down to only one pair of shoes thing! Or at least one pair that will go with three outfits and be comfortable enough for me to walk around in day and night without hurting my tootsies. Plus I have no idea of the weather, realistically it could be snow or bright sunshine you know?! I'm considering my Bertie 'Superstar' boots, Jeffrey Campbell Lita's or Irregular Choice...Making Moves or Spatz boots. They all seem quite wintry and it's only the MM that are 'exciting'...oh my pink satin Miu Miu's were another contender.  At the same time I'm trying to figure out dresses that would go with them all. Then I have to downsize the makeup/skincare, hmmm, could you imagine what I'd be like going away for a fortnight? Best not visualise that.

Wearing: Floral wiggle pencil dress ASOS, nude house tights Henry Holland, pink belt Dorothy Perkins.
Fit: True to size, 4 3/4" heel.
Comfort: Aching arches, but they don't rub and are easy enough to walk in.

Day 833 - Don't Let What They Say Keep You Up At Night

Shoes: Nude satin 'Bailey' KG by Kurt Geiger

Hello! This is my outfit from yesterday, featuring a new pair of shoes (although I've had them since last year). They are really rather stunning, much prettier on than I expected and there's a little leather bow across the toe and different shaped flower adornments. The nude satin lends itself to being a 'dressier' type of shoe, so I added the cardigan to make it a bit more casual for everyday. This is another item I've had for a while but never quite known what to wear it with. I took a couple of sizes down and even then it still feels quite roomy (although that's how it's supposed to be), the sleeves are shorter but wide which I'm not keen on. I'd much rather they were fitted as they just sit there rather limply. The dress is one of my favourites, the skirt is so full and flirty and it has a really defined waist and well the kissing birds are adorable!

Wearing: Kissing bird print dress, black leggings and coat Primark, clover cardigan Swan by Clements Ribeiro, black belt Dorothy Perkins.
Fit: True to size, 4 3/4" heel.
Comfort: Quite high, but they didn't rub anywhere, not bad for a first outing.

Day 813 - You Can Trust Every Word I'm Gonna Say Will Be A Lie

Shoes: Nude 'Bondaged Up' Poste Mistress at Office

A little late with this post, see the technical issue here! Dealing with it better today, although I'm obviously behind with work now, thank you Photobucket. *edit*fuming because PB have decided to resize my edited images, after me making them all the same width for this post...too tired to change it* Anyway, I had the dental hospital (yep again) yesterday and so I was out of the house at a reasonable hour for once. I love this dress. I want to buy it in every pattern! I thought it might look quite awesome with these boots and my Love Moschino bag which has become my favourite thing recently. The jewellery wasn't particularly thought out, just what I could grab in a hurry. The wee piggy is absolutely the cutest thing ever though. Oh and hardly any of the 'before' face photos worked, so you get the 'after' complete with frozen, squint mouth, yay!

Wearing: Floral wiggle pencil dress ASOS, nude quilted bag Love Moschino, fox ring and frog ring Miss Selfridge, pig and rabbit rings Topshop, diamond band my Grannys.
Fit: 4 1/2" heel, true to size, adjustable strapping and buckles.
Comfort: Other than taking a little while to get on and off, they are fine.

Day 807 - I'll Be Your Shoulder When You Cry

Shoes: Nude party face 'Sophie' Topshop

Ok, so I'm sure you'll appreciate my honesty when it comes to shoes and how easy (or not) they are to walk in and how comfortable they are, even although it could perhaps be subjective as to what you are used to yourself. If we were scoring though, this pair sadly wouldn't make a 'pass' in anybodies book! It's sad because they are so freakin' cute and I've wanted Topshop to make a pair like this since I first spotted their lovely flats a couple of years ago with pearl ankle strap and little cutesy face on the front. I've already chickened out of wearing these once before and even took them off again today, before changing my mind again to putting them back on. It was torrential rain too, so I didn't think they were the most appropriate for that and I couldn't decide if I should even bother going out at all. The rain got lighter and I thought 'what the heck', got the shoes back on and tentatively stepped outside. Our front path is sloped slightly which never makes me feel very safe even in the 'best' of shoes and I could feel the eyes of the cute kids in the house opposite who've developed a bit of a fascination with me (to the point that their Mother sometimes takes photos of me because she and I quote, thinks I am 'so cool' and worse yet actually told my Mum she does this??!), so I was praying I wouldn't slip in front of an audience! I made it along the road a little bit (taking very small steps and concentrating like mad) and have to admit I did actually feel quite stable on the shoes, but had I stepped on a stone or uneven slab and I'd have probably been a goner! The rain got heavier by this point and I was met with a river across the pavement of dirty flood water coming down off the fields (so strong it had it's own current) and I sort of stood pathetically doing the 'so deep I can't get over it, so wide, I can't get round it' thing and sheepishly turned back for home! Probably about half the walk I usually manage (and the full walk itself is pretty pathetic), but boy was I glad to get in and get these off my feet! They nearly broke me and I like to pride myself on managing any kind of heel. Not these! Think they might be relegated to sitting pretty on a shelf!

Wearing: Black lace bow dress Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, black tights and coat Primark.
Fit: I found my regular size too small because your toes struggle to sit flat in the vertical shoe, so I sized up. Heel 6 1/4" and 1 1/2" platform, adjustable buckle on strap.
Comfort: Aching arches, feet froze because of the angle they were at, maybe not even limo shoes!
