Irregular Choice Festive Footwear 2022: Day 14

Every day until Christmas, I'm blogging festive shoes from my Irregular Choice collection. Last time, I posted an unofficial Christmas pair, New Rules from AW18 that feel quite festive to me and today, there's absolutely no doubt about how Christmassy this pair are. Remember to check the bottom of the post for a special online discount code or freebie and head over to Pink Haired Princess where I'm sharing all-new posts of Christmas beauty products past and present.
These are the type of shoes you dream about, but don't think would be possible to make. In 2018, Irregular Choice launched Santa's Globe, a decadent, heavily embellished shoe with wearable and working snowglobe heels. It's designs like this that have me questioning where the creativity has gone in recent years. Realistically, I couldn't afford it if every pair were this fancy, but one or two stand-outs each season is what I'm looking for (and what's been lacking in my opinion as a long-time IC customer and wearer).
They are a very heavy shoe and quite cumbersome to wear (strong ankles required), but just an absolute vision to see. The outer sides of the uppers are a Christmas tree in various shades of green (chunky glitter, fine glitter and crushed velvet) with the most adorable little baubles and tinsel attached. This section lights up as you walk (on/off switch). The front of the shoe represents the presents under the tree with little wrapped, applique parcels and a large bow across the toe.
Each heel has a different scene in it (Santa in one, snowman and reindeer in the other) and there's not only snow but snowflakes floating around too. There's a lot going on with all the different materials and colours and trims, it's definitely a style that's unapologetically gauche, but isn't that what Irregular Choice used to be about? Not everyone will like them, some will find them tacky and I'm fine with that. To me, whilst they are by no means my favourite ever shoe, they are nonetheless magnificent and stand out among my Santa heels and ankle boot Christmas styles.
I once had someone crawl over to me during a prayer at church to tell me she liked my shoes (a family Christingle service so the parents and kids were sitting on the floor) and afterwards my shoe was off and passed around most of the congregation so they could see the snowglobe in action. Usually my Christmas shoes mean I have to perform 'tricks' i.e. clicking my heels together to make them flash for everyone that wants to see, so I'm used to it by now. I've attached some short video clips below, so you can see the lights (obviously much more effective in the dark) and globe snowing.
