Irregular Choice Festive Footwear 2022: Day 12

Until Christmas, I'll be blogging Christmas shoes from my Irregular Choice collection. Last time, I shared the furry Rudolph shoes from 2015 and today I have something from the current collection. So, the pair I have today are Chimney Chum from 2022 and seeing as I never got the chance to fit-review these prior to Festive Footwear starting, I'll try to combine my usual Shoesday Tuesday post with this one (the layout will be slightly different than you're accustomed to).

These are legit my dream boots. Years ago, when Fancy A Cuppa launched, I fell in love with everything but their low heel. I thought to myself, wouldn't a tartan ankle boot with white fur trim be perfect paired with the Santa heel. Several years and many versions of those original boots later, I finally have the pair I envisioned. Actually out of the three pairs I bought, I felt these were maybe the least exciting until I tried them on for these photos and think they are fabulous.

I bought my usual size 38/5 and was most worried about the sizing on this pair because they were boots. However, like the other Christmas pairs, on the first try, they feel small, but second time feel much better. I actually thought they were quite roomy when I tried them on for these photos (tights help give some slip, but these are quite thick and didn't make the boots feel small). My only gripe is that they need to be laced up. I would've preferred the laces but an inside zip so I didn't have to undo them every time. They do take a bit of time especially as the laces are wide satin ribbon. I'm glad the gold around the eyelets isn't that mirrored metallic as I think it'll crease quite easily with fastening the laces. They are very cosy, between the tights, emptying the shoe room for photos and getting these on, my face was purple afterwards!
