Shoes: Black and cream 'Ediva' KG by Kurt Geiger
It was miserable today so I didn't bother getting dressed, yesterday was much better. As you can see from the portraits, I was struggling as the light was streaming in the window, it was like a sauna! Turns out it was quite windy outside, so I had a few almost-flashing-to-everyone moments, such is the risk wearing a floaty dress with bare legs. Oh but my legs weren't completely naked, no I wore socks. I've been embracing socks with shoes lately and although I had a shorter black pair to wear with this, I pondered if I should try....long socks! Those cream, lacey socks I've been wearing go with everything and make anything look so much cooler, so I wanted to push things and try something different. I know, I know, I haven't worn a dress with long socks for a least 25 years with my wee gingham school dress! Actually no, there was my hockey days where they were accessorised with a skirt that didn't cover my arse, gym pants which almost stopped the circulation in my tiny thighs and my Dads old shin-pads! Oh the memories! Anyway, slightly controversial wearing this at my age or my size or wherever the controversy lies, but did you think it worked? Or did I look like a complete plonker?
Wearing: Floral tea dress Pearl Lowe, cardigan Be Beau at Matalan, Mischief sunglasses Irregular Choice, plastic flower hair clips gift, socks Kurt Geiger.
Fit: True to size, 5 3/4 heel and 1 1/4" platform.
Comfort: Fine, concentration required when walking though!

I have to say when i first saw the pics i was a bit undecided.... But i looked again and it looks great!! It works for you cos you have slim calves x
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these socks with the outfit; as weird as it is to say you have the knees for it - they are pretty dainty. Long socks all the way! xx
ReplyDeleteI think you pulled off the socks very well, I think a full on opaque sock may have looked a little too much but these rather classy. Also you have lovely legs. Xx
ReplyDeletethanks peeps! have to say I didn't feel as odd as I expected to in them!
