Day 552 - Christmas Day

Shoes: Red velvet 'Lillie' cherry Topshop

Thankfully, I'd prepared this post yesterday because I took rather unwell today.  I think it's a combination of eating too much and doing too much.  I feel completely hungover, even although I don't drink and was shivering and thought I was going to be sick.  I slept all afternoon, so hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.  Christmas day was spent at my sisters house with all my family.  My three little nephews were on good form and it was a lovely day.  I'd had it in mind to wear this dress for a while, I though it needed a belt and had asked for one for Christmas as my other 2 buckle one is on it's way out.  This one from Santa was perfect and I also wore two necklaces I got, a little flying piggy and a rocking horse.  I had red sparkly nails and used gold glitter (MAC 3D Gold) again on my eyes, this time with a gold base.  My close-up and portrait shot don't do it justice, but I was really pushed for time and my camera was playing up.  Oh and I managed a full length shot, first time ever I think.  I hope you all had a lovely time and if you're heading back to work tomorrow or have been working-that you get some time to enjoy yourself.

Wearing:  Lace insert dress Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, gold star tights House of Holland, horse ring The Jewellery Box, all other rings Primark, belt gift, horse and flying pig pendants gifts
Fit:  True to size, the ankle strap is particularly small but fine for me in the last hole.  Heel 5 6/8", platform 1 1/2".
Comfort: No issues.

Day 551 - Christmas Eve

Shoes: Black velvet 'Lillie' cherry Topshop

I hope you've all had a very merry Christmas so far. Christmas Eve is probably even more exciting than the big day itself I think.  That excitement and buzz should be bottled!  I've not been very good at managing to get decent photos of my outfits over the past couple of days unfortunately.  I've been back to using my broken camera which has given up yet again and it's been pretty dark too, so impossible conditions for taking good photos.  Had I not spent all my pennies on a winter coat and some Topshop shoes then I would've been able to afford a new camera!  Speaking of, my order arrived on Christmas Eve and I was desperate to wear the shoes inside, so did so immediately!  I bought both pairs of the Lillie cherry shoe, this pair are a little large as they'd sold out of my size, so I ordered the next one up.

P.S. I had to steal some outfit pics from last time I wore this dress...oh and I wish the amazing sparkle of my eyeshadow had shown up properly, I added some MAC glitter over the top and it looked wonderful.

Wearing:  Black and ivory bow dress Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, black fleece lined tights Primark and I forgot to photograph my rings.
Fit:  True to size (seeing as these are a size larger the ankle strap is better than the 38 but they are big in the heel).  Heel 5 6/8", platform 1 1/2".
Comfort:  No issues with them.
Then I decided to take the opportunity to wear a different outfit at night for our second church service.  It's been really windy, had turned colder but not icy, so I wrapped up but got to wear heels!  This change came at about 10.30pm, so my photos were really bad-again I've stolen some other pics so you get the idea. This was the only shoe shot I could salvage and it had to be the one where the shoe was cropped!
Shoes: Red 'Dice' Blythe & Irregular Choice

Wearing:  Dog print dress H by Henry Holland, black leggings and cardi Primark, socks with fur Flirt at ASOS.
Fit: True to size, just over 4 1/4" heel and small concealed platform, lace up.
Comfort:  No issues with these.

Day 550 - Nearly There

Shoes: Floral 'Evade' River Island

Hello, hope you're all organised for Christmas.  I got the rest of my pressies wrapped today and I've already been to the Christingle at our church, just the midnight carol service to go!  This is my outfit from yesterday.  I kinda forgot I had these shoes but the floral pattern is almost winter like flowers, so they worked well with tights even if they are a spring/summer shoe.  I got three gorgeous new pairs of shoes today from Topshop, one of which I've already worn today (yes, they were that gorgeous), can't wait to show you them.

Wearing: Dog print dress H by Henry Holland (Debenhams), black fleece lined tights Primark.
Fit: True to size, almost 6" heel and 1 1/4" platform.
Comfort: They are very high, so not the most steady and easy to walk in but no issues with comfort.

Day 549 - Star Buy

Shoes: Green velvet 'Pout' Topshop Boutique

For somebody who said this dress was rather average looking and not really special enough to rush out and buy, I've certainly proved myself wrong by wearing it loads.  That's because it's very flattering, feels comfortable, I love the sheer-ness of it (I like fancy tights peeking through a sheer dress) and it's extremely versatile.  So far I've worn it with my Lita's and coloured or lace tights, so I chose polka dot ones this time and the polar opposite of clumpy Lita boots, these gorgeous boudoir-esque velvet peep toes.  The shoes are stunning, very festive but not so much that you can't wear them throughout the year.  I used to think they were really high, but they don't feel it now and the platform is pretty small.  I just loved the whole outfit, as I always do when I wear this dress, so I'll continue to wear it to death!  You even get a quick outdoors image of me trying to keep my dress out of the picture but failing miserably as it's blown about in the wind!

Wearing:  Star print gypsy dress Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, polka dot tights Primark, belt ?, bow cardigan New Look.
Fit:  True to size, almost 5" heel and just under 1" platform, adjustable buckles.
Comfort:  No issues with these, other than the straps are very difficult to buckle up.

Day 548 - Hat Hair

Shoes: Pink 'Guilty Pleasure' ankle boots Irregular Choice

I wore a lovely outfit today, but I'm still blogging a day behind, so this was yesterday and not quite as exciting!  I actually had nothing in mind to wear and literally grabbed the first thing I could find (the dress) and these boots were sitting on the floor, so with little thought I wore them too.  Unfortunately I've had 'hat hair' all week, it's nice and washed, sitting lovely then I put a hat on and it's all skewiff! I can't tell you how great it's been that it's not been frosty this week though-I just love being able to wear high heels with 'slippy' soles and not worry about breaking my hip in a fall!  How's the weather been with you? Do you think you'll get a white Christmas?

Wearing: Lace print dress Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, black leggings, cardigan and hat all Primark, unicorn brooch on hat Miss Selfridge.
Fit: 5" heel and 1 1/4" double platform, pull on. Quite tight across the foot, but fine in length.
Comfort: Really easy to walk in with that chunky heel and very cosy.

Day 547 - All Wrapped Up

Shoes: Black knee high boots 'Jupiter' Irregular Choice

I don't have many pics from this outfit on Monday because I left for Edinburgh quite early and it was too dark for pictures in the morning or when I got back in the evening. I'll be so happy when we have daylight again! I cannot believe it's only 4 days until Christmas, how the hell did that happen? This month has gone by so fast, thankfully I was pretty organised early on with presents and cards, just have a few left to wrap. My buddy is visiting tomorrow with her wee baby for a pressie swap and other than that I'm not doing anything until the church services on Christmas Eve, which I always look forward to. The weather has been a little milder and no snow or ice (yipee), so I'm planning on wearing some cute high heeled boots then. This outfit wasn't overly exciting, purely because I chose comfort and warmth, as I  knew we'd be outdoors in the cold; I even had thick, fluffy socks on underneath these!

Wearing: Black jersey dress, leggings, cardigan, deer ring and hat Primark, frog and bunny rings Miss Selfridge.
Fit: True to size (although I opted for a size up purely for leg room) but the foot is a little large on me. Full length zip. Heel just over 4 1/4" and small concealed platform.
Comfort: Really comfy and easy to walk in, no problems
