Day 870 - Another Summer Day Has Come And Gone Away

Shoes: Tri-colour suede t-bar sandals Prada

Another beautiful day and that's a couple in a row now, so it's officially summer in Scotland! Well I'm sure there's some snow just around the corner to keep us on our toes. I considered this dress without the leggings, although it's a touch too short for me to feel comfortable with just tights, but I'm so glad I didn't, as I stepped out a big gust of wind blew my dress up around my head.  Yep major flashing incident avoided there!  Taking advantage of the sunny day, I painted my toes whilst getting ready as I've kept them nail-polish free all winter (more down to losing 2/3 of my toe-nail than anything else but that's another story), so it was out with some pretty sandals to show them off. It took about 15 minutes to locate said shoes as boots and winter shoes seems to be most accessible in my room just now. I'm just waiting for a shoe avalanche at 3am after me disturbing the mountain of boxes today!  Why do they never go back the way they came out? One of life's mysteries along with how umbrellas and sleeping bags never fit back into the bag they came in!

Wearing:  Ballerina print tea dress Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, leggings Primark, Minimal Baroque sunglasses Prada.
Fit: True to size, elasticated strap, 4 1/2" heel and very small platform.
Comfort: The bar across the toes may rub after a while, but otherwise no problems and easy walkers!

Day 869 - I Keep Looking For Something I Can't Get

Shoes: Blue floral 'Prom Princess' Irregular Choice

You all know I'm a huge fan of the H by Henry Holland range at Debenhams and a couple of months ago during a promotion, I sent Mum off to buy a couple of things for me. She phoned to say they had this dress I'm wearing today and that she didn't think I'd seen it before and would I like it. It wasn't on the website at the time (highly unusual that my local store gets anything before the website), so she described it to me and obviously I got it. It's a little tight on the bust, but I can still breathe! I love the way the collar sits and I don't have many pastel or pale coloured dresses do I? I've been looking for a nice day to wear it and with beautiful skies today (and a whole lot of wind) it seemed like the perfect opportunity. I can think of loads of shoes that will go with it and was actually torn with which pair to choose today. I'd rescued this pair from the wardrobe last week and would love to wear them more, but never have the perfect outfit for them. I think I may have found the right dress ; )

Wearing: Blue broderie anglaise dress H By Henry Holland, leggings and cardigan Primark, 'Nikita' sunglasses Tom Ford.
Fit: True to size, you don't need to unfasten the strap or bow to get them on. Roughly 4 1/2" heel.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day 868 - I Won't Be Held Down By Who I Used To Be

Shoes: Teal 'Graphic Geek' Irregular Choice

I'd hauled this dress out for wearing the other day and instead got stuck into rearranging my shoe storage and never got dressed! One pair of shoes I rescued that day were these little shoe-boots. I suppose they are quite suited to this strange weather we're experiencing now. I don't think I've ever shown you a side view of them despite the number of times I've worn them, so that's why I chose the above image.  One of the downsides of living in a coastal/seaside town is the wind. I wasn't expecting it today, but it was rather blustery along with beautiful skies and bright sunshine. There were also torrential downpours and even a short hail shower. How can you ever really dress appropriately for all weathers? I felt suitably dressed regardless with a gorgeous bright print but layers (actually the dress was highly indecent sans cami top, so that was the reason for that). I'm all organised for another colourful Monster High Monday tomorrow...just trying to figure out what to wear with such colours!

Wearing: Hula Hawaiian frilled dress H By Henry Holland, black leggings Primark, cardigan Bonmarche, pink belt Dorothy Perkins, flower hair clips Debenhams, flower comb Yama Yama Pretty Mama.
Fit: I always size up on split-toe styles. Heel just under 4".
Comfort: No issues with these once your toes are comfortable in the right position.

Day 867 - I Was Counting On Forever, Now I'll Never Know

Shoes: Pink 'Bambino' Irregular Choice

Today was one of those days where I just felt rubbish. I've not been dressed these past few days, so had started off looking forward to getting dressed and wearing makeup and doing my hair. I went through outfit after outfit though and none looked right and I felt terrible in them all. By this point my room looked like a bomb had hit it and I was knackered and in no mood for getting dressed at all. So I settled on one outfit and just took the t-shirt off to fix something and managed to get makeup all over the neckline, so it was back to the drawing board! I've put on weight this year and now my clothes are beginning to feel uncomfortable and I'm feeling uncomfortable in them! Add to that my hair not sitting right and my skin being an absolute pain in my backside for months now (thank goodness for the invention of the Pixlr spot fixer) and I just wasn't in the mood! As much as I'm all about the body confidence, I think it proves I'm only human that I can't preach it 100% of the time. Deep down, I knew when it came to editing these photos, I would be wondering what all the fuss was earlier because I look fine, even if I didn't feel it at the time. Hoping to snap out of it by tomorrow ; )

Wearing: Blue patterned dress, pink belt (taken from a skirt), leggings all Primark, boat cardigan Peacocks, flower hair comb Yama Yama Pretty Mama, flower hair clips Debenhams.
Fit: Small fitting but no need to size up, although you may need to cut a longer button-hole as I did. 5" heel.
Comfort: Ok-ish, not for long periods of time.

Day 866 - In The Circles I've Been Running, I've Covered Many Miles

Shoes: Leopard print 'Edna' Irregular Choice

Absolutely pooped today after shopping. Yesterday I decided to 'put away' my winter boots that had been sitting around for ages. This involves a lot of upheaval because the shoe situation is out of hand and there are piles of boxes everywhere. So while I was doing that I decided I may as well grab a few IC's out of their cupboard and do a seasonal switcheroo. Anyone with OCD would be going nuts because I had to go in 'blind' as there was just enough space to open one door (and not fully) and so I couldn't see in, I just had to reach and contort until I got a box out. I ended up switching shoes which are now in the wrong boxes (eek) and many I couldn't even reach, but hopefully by the time I have to switch back for winter, they'll all be in their own shoe-room. Maybe. Anyway I was so knackered I couldn't even stand or get my lunch (hence why I didn't go out) and I have three bruises on my arm from wedging it in the door (!) I did grab some good shoes though! So today I didn't exactly feel up to shopping, but it was successful as I managed to get a usb hub, longer usb cable to go into the usb port at the back of my PC and also a usb camera card reader (I've been using my old broken camera to upload pics from my dslr as there is no way of attaching it to the pc). All for £1 each (yes I know I already ordered the cable from Amazon but I got impatient and couldn't wait any longer). Crisis averted, thanks for all your advice by the way. Also thanks to Emma for letting me know about this leopard print dress which I already own in floral and heart prints : )

Wearing: Leopard print dip hem dress and beaded cardigan Primark, shiny snake leggings New Look, elephant necklace gift, peacock and crocodile rings gifts, lace flower ring Miss Selfridge, nude quilted bag Love Moschino.
Fit: A little snug, but I wouldn't size up personally. Just over 4" heel.
Comfort: Very comfy and no walking problems.
