Day 1013 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing Irregular Choice Blythe Dice red ankle boots
Shoes: Red Blythe 'Dice' Irregular Choice

Another outfit post for you this week, after a visit to the dentist.  I'm actually glad I have nothing pencilled in for me on the family calendar this week, because I'm exhausted after doctor, dentist and physio appointments over the past fortnight.  Further proof, I'm still struggling with my health (as if I need reminding).
I just can't seem to maintain an 'active' pace and by active, I mean 'my' active, nothing like an ordinary person!  I'm spending more time in bed, but pushing myself to do the physio exercises.  You get to the point that you wonder what's more important (doing exercises or trying to have a bit of a life and get up before lunch)!  Anyway, this was my outfit; comfort over style as is the norm these days.  I just realised last time I wore these boots (beginning of January last year, right before I felt really ill), I wore them with these socks, oops!  I'm feeling OOTD posts perhaps aren't good for my self esteem just now, I feel really sad looking back at those photos.  It's difficult to express how much I miss wearing makeup, having coloured, fancy hair, getting properly dressed and feeling pretty.  It's really difficult to feel good about yourself, when you look and feel 'bleugh'! I can't help but compare the two posts and I just feel so frumpy these days, all the time.  I mean for the most part, I'm not letting it get to me, it's just when I'm reminded of how things used to be and how I used to look.  The one good part is being able to get ready in 5 minutes and when it's raining or snowing, not worrying that it's blowing in my face and 'ruining' my hair and makeup (which it did this day)!  Anyway, this dress was so crushed, it looked pleated, when I wrestled it out of the wardrobe (I swear one of these days my wardrobe will eat me).  As I was wearing my coat and nobody would see it, I chucked it on anyway.  Without it's usual belt, because again, does it really matter? Leggings and socks for warmth and yes, the cutest little booties.  These are actually really quite worn on the soles, which I find strangely satisfying.  I've got a few new shoes that arrived recently, which I'm excited to reveal on Shoesday Tuesday in the future!  Everytime I think I'm running out, a new pair appear to keep us going another week.  What do you think of these boots today, an old favourite?

  2. That dress is super cute (I actually prefer this one to your previous outfit) and the shoes are amazing. Can't wait to see all the new shoes you got. I haven't bought any shoes in AGES, it almost feels like it's not me anymore. :/ But maybe in the summer that'll change :)

    1. Well I've sneaked them home without anyone knowing, so excited and I only got caught once! I got a few sale bargains and they are soooo good, can't wait to share them and see what you think.

  3. I have to agree--I love this outfit, especially the shoes. I don't really like Blythe, but she doesn't bother me here.

I'm sorry it's been so hard being sick. I would really miss the makeup and hair too. I suppose this comment belongs on the new post, but it's really nice of you to give us your time like this. You add to the fashion blogging landscape and I really love your style and value the fact that you keep me up to date with all the things I never knew I needed (and can't afford to buy). I hope things get easier.

    1. Thank you. That's so kind...that's the type of thing that keeps me going, knowing that someone wants to see what I photograph and hear what I have to say : )

    2. Honestly, coming here is great. I've been off spending money on clothes and shoes for a while, but I still want to know what's available--I can still dream! I actually went out and bought the My Little Pony dress from Hot Topic last winter when I was unemployed. I hadn't been in HT in YEARS! And I get so many compliments on it, too. :)

    3. Lovely. It's such a pretty dress. I got the Iron Fist sequin one last year, but it's not as nice as the original. VERY short, even with leggings, so I'll wear it as a top. Have seen some more MLP/IF shoes and bags, so think there is more to come. I'd go bankrupt if I had access to HT, I just keep telling myself I can't afford the customs/delivery they charge, so I just have to look and not buy these days.

    4. So, the funny thing is HT used to be so different. They had metal spiderweb doors and sold these black velvet bell-sleeved gowns and the giant platform patent leather boots and strappy plaid pants. Now the stores are so bright--they've even painted the walls white. Eh, if they keep the old school MLP coming, I'll keep falling for the merch.
