I'm back with the luxe edition of The Shoe Girl Styles It and a bit of an explanation for the lack of posts the past couple of weeks. I've really been having a hard time blogging lately. I wrote a big long post about it the other day, then didn't publish it. I actually felt better just for writing it and didn't really want to 'dump' the moaning on you (though I suppose I have to, to explain)! I thought I could just power through the 'block' and inspiration would hit, but instead I've spent hours and hours each day trying
Like I say, you question whether it's worth the work and time you put in and you do feel 'lonely' talking to yourself or just reaching one or two people. I did say (in the post I never published) that I have little else to do with my life (that I'm capable of right now), so I can't imagine how I'd fill my day without blogging. Perhaps I've just Polyvore'd myself out. Maybe I'll snap out of it and feel better. I don't know if I need to be more or less strict with blogging (to be truthful I've tried it both ways recently). Or maybe I just have to admit defeat, that being a successful fashion/beauty blogger isn't something I can do when I'm this ill. I don't know. I felt like trying a Polyvore set tonight and so gave myself free reign (didn't look at the prices (sorry) or stress) and I actually enjoyed it, so I'll just have to see how it goes next week. I don't want to give up blogging, but it's a possibility, even after all my hard work to turn it around last year. Ok, so this outfit. I wanted a 70's disco type theme, because of these wonderful Gucci python platforms £820. That classic Gucci shape just called out for it! So I paired them with this Pinko, one shouldered sequin number. The draping and asymmetric shape (along with the glimmer) works so well with the sandals. I knew I wanted big earrings and cuffs to continue the theme and this little Vivienne Westwood clutch just finished the look perfectly. I feel it's like these items were made for each other, they all blend so well together. What do you think, like this outfit?
Worn with: Pinko 'Petunia' maxi dress £330 (sale), First People First earrings £300, Maison Martin Margiela 11 black cuffs £249 (for pair, sale) and Vivienne Westwood 'Grace' clutch £425 (sale).
You know, I really don't like the 70s, but this is very elegant and I love it in spite of myself.
ReplyDeleteHaha, snap! Not usually a 70's fan and I hear it's a big trend right now : (
DeleteI wasn't sure if my last post worked so apologies if I am repeating myself. I love reading your blogs so please don't stop blogging. I like this outfit, though it wouldn't suit my shape. Still gorgeous though.
ReplyDeleteAww thank you, being appreciated makes it worthwhile : )
