Day 710 - My Best Friend Say She Used To F*** With Usher

Shoes: Ivory and black 'Parkie' ASOS Premium

The day started off lovely, then just before I was about to pop out, the rain started. I didn't think I'd get out for my walk, but eventually did. I hadn't intended to wear any of this outfit, then suddenly changed my mind to wear the dress (as I might not get another chance before Autumn). As I was looking for my black Bertie wedges to pair it with, I spied these shoes which I haven't worn for ages and decided they could work. I struggled to keep my dress out of the way when leaning over to take photos of my feet and didn't have anything to prop my camera on-but in the end I liked this image better than the ones without the dress in it. It's definitely getting colder now and I felt like a bit of an idiot out in my summery dress walking past people in anoraks and fleeces, but I'm not willingly giving up my summer wardrobe just yet!

Wearing: Polka dot dress Primark cardigan Be Beau at Matalan, belt taken from another dress.
Fit: Very small, I had to go up a size. 5 1/2" chunky heel and 1 3/4" platform.
Comfort: The only issues I find are little stones getting stuck in the sole thus making them unsteady, you just have to be aware of it and kick them off as you go.

Day 709 - The Hootin' & The Hollerin', Back & Forth With The Arguing

Shoes: Red 'Flashing Lights' Irregular Choice

The heating went on yesterday, sad times!  Just for a couple of hours, but it was really rather cold and although I refuse to dress in winter coats and hats (like some people are currently), I hate feeling cold inside when I'm sitting, not moving.  I have a huge fluffy blanket that I've reluctantly been wrapping around me, but I don't want to completely give in to winter!  I compromised with this outfit, bare legs and boots, summer and winter in one!  I must have tried about 4 dresses until I found the right partner-the only issue with wearing socks and boots is the skirt needs to be relatively short (or else your hem sits mid calf and boots almost mid calf and you're left with no leg or only the unflattering part), but I'm not keen on short hems outdoors in wind with bare legs.  Thankfully it wasn't too windy yesterday and the addition of my big cardi helped the dress stay down.  I haven't worn these boots before, the little flash of lace socks over the top looked cute I thought, but they are very heavy and have that bevelled sole like the Long(er) Lashes boots which take a bit of getting used to when walking.  Oh and no, I've no idea why I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat in the full-length picture either!

Wearing:  Teal lace dress Asda, belt taken from another dress, cardigan Primark, Mischief sunglasses Irregular Choice, ankle socks H&M.
Fit:  True to size, lace up front.  4 1/2" heel and 1 1/2" platform.
Comfort: No issues with comfort, just takes a while to get used to the curved sole and they are quite heavy to lift.

Day 708 - Just Another Player In Your Game For Two

Shoes: Blue suede and floral 'Bambino' Irregular Choice

As you'll maybe know, I've had to go to the dental hospital a lot recently and yesterday saw the first of my appointments where I was actually getting something done! I have to go every week for a month, yay for me (!) and have been worrying about it but actually it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It was unpleasant but not painful and I hardly felt the needle going in which was a bonus. I thought I'd wear super-crazy shoes to keep me distracted and usually opt for Irregular Choice at my regular dentist because the nurse likes to see the soles when I'm sitting in the chair! At the hospital the chair faces a wall though and the staff don't know me so personally, so there was no shoe chat or checking the pattern on the soles! There were tonnes of students there who were all just starting term (not actually in the room with me), so they seemed rather amused/gobsmacked by my hair and/or outfit, which was amusing. I must remember next time though to make sure I have decent photos before leaving the house, so I can avoid swollen, half squint smile portraits like the two below, no prizes for guessing the before and afters!

Wearing: Floral dress Red Herring and flower hair clips also Debenhams, leggings and sunglasses Primark, cardigan Be Beau at Matalan, belt taken from another dress, fox ring gift, rabbit and frog rings Miss Selfridge, bird brooch (from a set) Accessorize.
Fit: Small fitting but no need to size up, although you may need to cut a longer button-hole as I did. 5" heel.
Comfort: I wore these for hours with no problems, although I know not everyone will find them easy to walk in.

Day 707 - Honey Got Me Swishin' Like A Dreadlock

Shoes: Turquoise 'I'm Bossy' Irregular Choice

It was a tad colder today, so I decided to wear leggings and spied these shoes which I don't believe I've worn yet. I also have them in black...and the matching bag for this pair! The turquoise were never as comfortable as the black, hence my reluctance to wear them. However half an hour in the house with them on my feet with thick socks and they were stretched enough. Also I've always struggled to find a dress to wear them with as the majority that go have some form of green or turquoise in them and it's usually not quite the right shade, but it looks like you've tried to match it and gone wrong! They were perfect with this one though.

Wearing: Ivory and turquoise spot sun-dress River Island, black leggings Primark, cardigan Be Beau at Matalan, belt taken from another dress, hairband gift.
Fit: True to size, stud fastening, 4" perspex heel.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day 706 - If I Could Wear Your Clothes I'd Pretend I Was You

Shoes: Black peep toes with metal heel Marios Schwab for Scorah Pattullo

You can't really tell from these pictures, but google 'Red Fraggle' and this is totally how I had my hair today! Maybe a bit childish for a woman in her 30's, although no more than yesterdays frilly ankle socks with sandals combo!  I tried another somewhat different approach to dressing today wearing my parrot maxi dress with parrot leggings.  They are almost identical prints but in different colours.  I felt a little like I was wearing my jammies outside, which was both fun and stupid! The dress has a wrapover and dipped hem, so when you're walking and especially in the wind, it splits open (from the hips) and flares out like a cape behind you, so my leggings were definitely more on show outside! I'm not sure if I love this look or not...it was certainly comfortable though!

Wearing: Parrot print maxi dress Dorothy Perkins, parrot leggings H by Henry Holland, cardigan Be Beau at Matalan, Mischief sunglasses Irregular Choice.
Fit: True to size, quite narrow at toe, 4 1/4" fabulous metal heel.
Comfort: Easy to walk in but squish your toes a little.
