Day 779 - And If You're Done With Embarrassing Me

Shoes: Gold distressed 'Spatz' Irregular Choice

A quick post from yesterday because we were busy babysitting my youngest nephew and my Auntie and Uncle also came for a visit, exchanging Christmas gifts and cards. Only 9 sleeps to go peeps! We love Christmas in our house and go into it in a big way, but I have to admit to being exhausted of it this year. I'm definitely going Scrooge next year and cutting back; I can neither afford to splash out on as many people as I do nor am I able for the shopping trips, gift wrapping, card writing and trips to the Post Office required! I feel guilty already about cutting back, but then I think if my friends were in my position where they weren't working, had very little income and had spent the last 10 and a half years ill, then Christmas would be the last thing on their minds! So perhaps I need to be a little selfish and stop putting so much pressure on myself to carry on as I used to. Too bah-humbug? Do you love Christmas or hate the festive period?

Wearing: Blue squirrel dress H By Henry Holland, swallow cardigan Dorothy Perkins, suede leggings and coat Primark, belt taken from another dress.
Fit: True to size (the buttons do come out if you need to get on and off), 4 1/4" heel.
Comfort: No problems with these.

  1. We don't really do Xmas we get 1 gift for each other and I buy for my parents but that's it. I think it's becoming more about how much you spend of how many presents you give which is sad :( xx

    1. I personally love the giving more than the receiving, but I feel it's getting out of hand with friends who've had children and I already spoil my three nephews without needing to add another 6 kids to my list and two friends cancelled our annual meet-up and I just wanted to see them and spend time with them, but I feel they have no time for me now, which is really sad so I'm going to cut myself off from all of them. Seems drastic, but I guess I thought they'd be there for me when I needed them and they haven't been really and I can't blame them because they have their own lives, we just have different lives now and so I don't know why I'm getting into debt and stressing about their gifts when they can't even spend an hour with me once a year.

  2. Oh, I feel so honoured now, as I wore these boots today, and it's the first time that I have seen you wearing one of the Irregular Choice shoes/boots that I own. Hope you had a fantastic Christmas xx
