Day 997 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing Irregular Choice Antonella
Shoes: Black velvet 'Antonella' Irregular Choice

How are you all this week?  You've already seen these shoes in brown with an orange deer and here are the black pair.  I loved them so much, I just had to get both colours.

The Shoe Girl Styles It: DSquared2 Jewel Sandals

DSquared2 Jewel Sandals
A very Autumnal looking outfit this week, featuring these pretty jewelled platforms sandals £302 by DSquared2. They come in loads of other colours, this style is the maroon, which I think perfectly accents the collar and pattern on this lovely dress and coat. Now this is a "co ord" duo I could get behind! The coat in particular is gorgeous and provided the basis for the rest of the outfit.  I'd definitely stick to rich, rusty shades of metallic and wine throughout.  Do you like this look?

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Dorothy Perkins Black Shoe Boot

Dorothy Perkins Black Shoe Boot
A slightly different offering from me today...yes that's jeans you see!  I was just in the mood for trousers and once I found that long line blazer, it further cemented that it had to be trousers rather than a skirt or dress.  Firstly, the shoes are pointed toe shoe-boots from Dorothy Perkins £24.50 (currently reduced, in the DP 'up to 30% off' event) and feature a 4" feel and open back with two buckled straps.  I love this Jem t-shirt from Truffle Shuffle, I had a few Jem books when I was younger and my favourite colouring book was a Jem one.  I always coloured in lips and eyes first...must be why I turned out to be so makeup obsessed!  I always wanted to be Shana, the one with the lilac 'fro, I thought her hair was the coolest thing ever!  Anyway, as for the rest of the outfit, I need these glasses in my life, they're a gorgeous shape. The bag, I almost bought yesterday before I remembered I already have an old black fluffy tote, so it would be a little indulgent to buy another.  This one is a little more structured than mine, but reasonably similar.  I just noticed they got a pinky one in today though, maybe I need that instead?!  Do you like 'Casual Wednesday'?

Day 996 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing Iron Fist Lollipop Lorelei mermaid wedge
Shoes:  Lollipop Lorelei wedge Iron Fist

Cutesy shoes for you today with these Iron Fist wedges.  Another of the 'Lollipop Lorelei' designs that I just couldn't miss because of the mermaids!

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Dorothy Perkins Black T-Bar

Dorothy Perkins Black T-Bar
Oh how I love a t-bar! These are from Dorothy Perkins £27 (reduced to £22.95 until midnight tonight) and they also come in brown here (£21.60). I stuck to a monochrome-ish theme with this leopard print panel pencil skirt from the new Kelly Brook collection at Simply Be, worn with a slogan T (I'd probably half tuck it in and roll up the sleeves a bit) and this beautiful necklace and hat. I like a fancy necklace with a casual t-shirt. I think this is a fun look for plus-size (or any) ladies, what do you think? The slogan on this has just reminded me that I was reading about how much the English language has changed and that words such as 'fortnight', 'marmalade', 'cheerio' and 'marvellous' are rarely used and risk losing their place in the dictionary! I can't help but think something has gone wrong, when 'selfie' is in the dictionary but kids won't know what marmalade is and say 'awesome' instead of 'marvellous'! What word do you use a lot that you would be sad to see disappear?

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Vivienne Westwood Gillie

Vivienne Westwood Gillie
Hello sweets, hope you're enjoying the weekend. Today I'm styling these Vivienne Westwood Red Label 'Gillie' lace-ups £374 (free next day delivery (over £75) with code TMRW or 15% off for new customers with NEWCOG). You can't really see in this picture so well, but the laces are long enough to be wrapped up the leg or around the ankle several times (they've just tied them under the shoe here). Whenever I saw that metallic panel I just knew of the perfect dress to pair them with. It's from Monsoon and I've been patiently waiting to use it after seeing it in an email. It's an absolute stunner and a little more pricey than regular high-street prices (hence why I've included it in my 'luxe' edition), though it could pass for being twice or three times the price.  That structured shape is just so beautiful and the brocade fabric the perfect choice for such a dress.  I wouldn't over-accessorise (for once!) with jewellery, instead keeping that statement neckline simple, just adding a big pair of earrings and/or some rings.  Some might think the shoes aren't 'formal' or 'dressy' enough for this, but I wanted something a little 'heavier' that wouldn't be overshadowed by the bold dress.  Does this get the thumbs up from you?

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Irregular Choice Cherry Deer (Brown)

Irregular Choice Cherry Deer
I thought I'd have a go at styling the new brown version of Irregular Choice 'Cherry Deer' £140 after writing about them yesterday.  I'd definitely keep things tonal with rich wine, dark green or even a splash of navy like I've added here.  I'm not usually a tartan fan but this dress has been awaiting a suitable pair of shoes for some time on my Polyvore!  I added a brooch on the 'wrap' section up on the front shoulder as you would sometimes see in traditional Scottish dress with shoulder sashes, yet the shape of the dress is so modern it keeps it very current.  I just love it.  I hummed and hawed over a green coat as I wasn't keen to make things 'too much the same' colour-wise but this wine one just fitted in perfectly.  It's currently half price too!  I've added navy tights here, dark green or oxblood would work just as well.  I suppose it's rather appropriate that I choose a tartan outfit on such an historic day (Scottish Referendum), honestly it's kinda scary that your country and life is in the hands of others.  I sent my postal vote last week, but they think it's going to be close, today I get the feeling (certainly among my friends) that the 'yes' camp will win.  The practicalities of a new currency, changes to postal prices (er hello, I buy everything online from English companies), my blog I guess would change to '.sc' or whatever the Scottish would be (along with a separate eBay etc like Ireland) plus a lot of unsubstantiated promises with no evidence of working, make me want to stay as we are.  However the 'Braveheart element' of doing something really life-changing, standing on our own two feet and going it alone, not to mention what a waste the last few years getting to this point would be if we said 'no', are a huge draw.  In the end my decision wasn't made by listening to the media and debates, as there was so much uncertainty on both sides and you just wouldn't know what would or could happen until it did, instead I'd say I listened to my head more than my heart and we'll just have to see how it turns out.

Day 995 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing Irregular Choice glitter Toffee Splatter
Shoes: Lilac glitter 'Toffee Splatter' Irregular Choice

Hello my lovelies, how are you all this week? I decided pastel colours, cutesy bunnies and sparkle overload were needed this week, so meet Toffee Splatter by Irregular Choice (I can only find the black version in stock from letsbuyshoes). Yeah, not for the faint hearted!

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Irregular Choice Uh Huh

Irregular Choice Uh Huh
I'm not very organised this week, because I had to give in to the overwhelming tiredness and take the weekend off. I basically did very little besides watching dvd's, it was fun while it lasted! Back to work today and I thought I'd have a go at styling these Elvis-like heels, 'Uh Huh' by Irregular Choice £159. I actually spied the leggings and the shoes immediately popped into my mind and I wondered if I could make them work together. I originally had a shorter length dress with it, but it was a pity to cover up most of the print with a straight skirt. I'm not a fan of leggings as trousers though, so came up with the idea of a maxi dress with splits to show off the legs rather than a long top or short dress. BooHoo had tonnes (fyi use FROCKON for 24% off dresses only until midnight tonight), but when I saw this sheer maxi, it just all fell into place. The lining underneath is actually much shorter when on the body (like just covering the models bum, rather than almost knee length it looks here)...I'm not saying you'll see the entire faces, but you could howk the lining up to where you feel comfortable (good Scottish word for you there). I added the 'camera' bag because both Elvis and Marilyn seemed to crave the spotlight yet found fame and the paparazzi hard to handle, so it seemed apt. Again with the black, told you I was feeling it! Do you like this outfit?

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Boden Mary Jane (Leopard)

Boden leopard print mary jane shoe
Today sees the turn of these gorgeous leopard print Mary Jane by Boden £129. My favourite of all the colours I've featured this week (see yellow here and metallic here). I mean leopard AND mary-janes, what more could a girl ask for?  I also saved the best outfit for last, I adore this! I'm not usually one for velvet but would happily make an exception for this little dress. It's gorgeous and so obviously Wednesday Addams inspired, that I couldn't resist styling it similarly. Black over the knee socks are a must, add a hard glossy bag, pile on the rings and that collar is screaming out for a statement brooch in the centre. The leopard shoes are a nice twist on the whole look and I just love it. I'm feeling like I could easily go back into a 'black phase' and just wear it head to toe, all the time! Do you like this outfit? Remember you can still save 10% at Boden and get free delivery and returns using code J9W3, until September 14th. Plus, if you really fancy this dress (and something else or indeed anything) from Attitude Clothing (just click the link below), then you qualify for free Sunday delivery (order before 12 noon Saturday) and use code SUN50 (when spending £50, UK mainland only, not valid with any other code or sale items) or FREE50 (when spending over £50) for free standard delivery.

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Boden Mary Jane (Pewter)

Boden metallic mary jane shoe
Sorry for the late post, I had computer problems which forced me to abandon all work. Hey I managed to read and recycle 4 magazines though, so that's alright. Today I'm looking at the metallic pewter Mary Jane from Boden (£119), you can click to see how I styled the yellow ones on Monday. You can still enter J9W3, for free returns and delivery at Boden and 15% off. It's a diminishing discount, so it changes to 10% on the 12th. These shoes come in half sizes, which is always handy and the heel height is 3 1/2". I've teamed them with this gorgeous birdy tapestry skirt, then my sweet tooth led me to the cupcake cardigan and cutesy doughnut bag, yum! The pin dot nude tights just bring the whole look together. Do you like this outfit?

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Boden Mary Jane (Citrine)

Boden citrine mary jane shoe
This week I've got three fabulous outfits for you with these Boden 'Mary Jane' shoes (£119, enter J9W3 for 20% off, free returns and shipping until Wednesday). Today I'm looking at the 'Citrine' yellow colour. The shape is pretty basic, yet elegant and sleek and I never get tired of mary-jane styles as they are so versatile (great for wearing with socks or tights too). This dress I originally thought was calling out for a clashing bag, in bright pink. However the more I played around with it, the more I liked the yellow and teal with it. It also looks great with plum, light blue, lilac, turquoise or lime. The print is just stunning and I couldn't resist the unicorn earrings because you can almost feel the magic oozing out of that tree print. Do you like this look?

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Markus Lupfer

Markus Lupfer cat print platforms
Hot on the heels of TSGSI: Luxe last week is another corker of an outfit. Ever since I first saw these Markus Lupfer cat print shoes (£340), I've quite literally been dreaming about them. Are they not just utterly fantastic? You would think they were fabric uppers, but it's actually leather. They have a giant 6" heel and 2 1/4" platform. I've also seen them in black, but for once like the powder blue better. I proper need these in my life! Anyway, I kept the rest of the outfit relatively simple (unusual for me), the sequin 'bunnybird' jumper is adorable, could you imagine if you actually got bunny-ladybirds? I think bunny sized ones would be too fat to fly, so they'd have to be ladybird sized bunnies. Oh wow, that would be sooo cute! The satchel, er hello perfect colour match! I could totally see this outfit working with grey tights, long socks or even ankle socks.  Do you like this look? Can you lend* me £340? *In this case 'lend' means 'give'.

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Boohoo Florence (Black)

Boohoo Florence
Hello and happy Friday! I'll be glad to see the back of this week for some reason. Anyway I picked another plus size outfit for The Shoe Girl Styles It today. The shoes are called Florence from Boohoo £25 and remind me slightly of my Bertie 'Superstar' wedges. I have a thing about multi straps and buckles like this, I just love it (don't worry they have an inside zip, so you don't have to undo the buckles each time). They also come in nude and the black have just been restocked after almost selling out earlier in the week. At that price, they aren't going to stick around for long. The dress features a beautiful floral print and comes in sizes 16-24. I'm not sure if it's available in their main range too, I've certainly not seen it when browsing. The bag I originally chose, sold out almost as soon as it came in, no wonder it was rather Moschino-esque! However the alternative is pretty cute. The statement necklace is a fab find I reckon. Do you like this look?

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Boohoo Lauren

Boohoo Lauren
Hola chickies! Today I'm styling these black Lauren by Boohoo sandals £30, with 4 1/2" perspex heel. I wanted a monochrome look but with a little splash of colour. All the clothes featured in this post are plus-size, no idea why I haven't done this before, but thought it was time I did!  I'm in love with the slogan t-shirt (it's also available in the main range here). I'm also really loving these fun foody clutches from New Look. Ok, so they are pretty flat and won't fit much inside them, but they are kitschy cool.  At the moment they have a doughnut, burger and this milkshake one but look out for unicorn heads (in two colours, obviously I'm getting both) and some festive themes in time for Christmas. Do you like this outfit today?

The Shoe Girl Styles It: Privileged Prose

Privileged Prose
After the sophistication yesterday, I wanted a fun and slightly silly outfit. Not that I would ever call my beloved Ariel 'silly'! For this, I chose the leggings first, then worked it from there. A longer length top, which has a dip hem at the back as I'm not keen on wearing leggings as trousers (you could always slip on a micro mini over the top of the leggings for added coverage). Then I spotted these crazy shoes, Prose by Privileged (70) and well the shimmering, textured, mermaidy blue uppers and fabulous perspex prism heel were just begging to be worn with those leggings. Add to that an iridescent (but more green than blue) clutch, some fun Rimmel products (sha-la-la-la-la-la-kiss-the-girl) and you may as well go all out with the little mermaid pendant too. Kitschy mermaid worthy? I reckon. Do you like?

Day 993 - Shoesday Tuesday

Wearing Iron Fist Buns N Roses wedge
Shoes: Buns N' Roses wedge Iron Fist

Another pair of Iron Fist for you this week, this time with bunicorns (that's bunnies with horns if you were wondering).
