Day 964 - Old, But I'm Not That Old

Shoes: Orange and purple heart 'Margar' Georgina Goodman for Luella

The debut of my new wee babies that I've waited years for! You can see my haul post on Pink Haired Princess, if you haven't already. By the way, ignore the lipstick swatches on my hand below-I was trying to not only photograph this post but another one while there was enough light and it meant doing two things at once!  This dress has flashes of peach and lilac, so I thought it would look cute with these shoes and the purple tights too. A bit of purple overload! Which reminds me of this girl I used to know. She helped out at Sunday School and was called Jennifer (who we nicknamed "Purple Jennifer") because every single thing she wore or had was purple. Down to the purple ink in her purple pen and the purple notebook she wrote in. It was kinda scary.  I'm not sure I could ever swear allegiance to one colour to that extent. Could you?

Wearing: Ballerina tea dress Pearl Lowe (Peacocks), purple tights and coat Primark.
Fit: True to size, 4 3/4" heel and just over 1" concealed platform.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day 963 - Don't Leave Me Standing All By Myself

Shoes: Cat Tapestry 'Lita' Jeffrey Campbell

Yesterday it was still a little icy in places as you can see from the photo at the bottom of this post.  So I was wary of wearing skinny heels or anything too high.  It's been nice to have had all these months without the worry of frost and ice, although I have quite a few (almost sensible) boots to see me through the 'bad' period.  I'm afraid my outfit photos are extremely poor, but there was a serious lack of daylight by the time I got dressed and either my camera refused to take the pic or they didn't turn out very well.  Add to that an extremely static dress, which I tried to fix for the photos by adding an underskirt...which was then visible in the photos, which I hadn't realised until it came to uploading them.  Oh it just wasn't my day was it?  However, it was one dicky photo or none at all!  I love the colour of this dress with my hair when it's purple, it's otherwise very difficult to wear when it clashes against my hair colours.  My makeup was popping! I'm not usually one for brown eye makeup, but it looked very sultry and I loved the glossy nude lips (although hate the taste of the Urban Decay lipstick).

Wearing:  Swallow dress New Look, leggings and coat Primark, lace socks Miss Selfridge.
Fit: I bought these from Office so they are EU/UK sized (38/5). Just under 5" heel and 1 3/4" platform.
Comfort: Felt very uncomfortable across my little toe on one foot, for some reason.

Day 962 - I've Never Seen A Diamond In The Flesh

Shoes: 'Dreamy' Santa heels Irregular Choice

Hello! What a horrid day today, my goodness, I've barely slept. I had to get up at half one this morning because I couldn't breath after a sneezing fit blocked my nose (which is now a full blown cold) and I'd not slept a wink by then! I was panicking because every time I shut my mouth, I was completely unable to breathe, it was horrible. It was quite gusty outside and raining at that point.  However at 5am, I was awakened by the torrential hail and gale force winds. As we're mid-way through our extension, I was aware of noises and things falling over and then by 7am, I saw the shadow of something billowing that shouldn't have been! We have no windows at that side of the house and there was no way I was going out in my jammies to be blown away!  I sent my Dad instead (and made him walk my tiny sister to work to protect her and hold her down)!  It turned out to be some insulation that's come undone and is now twisting it's way around the house and belting off the window every so often!  The snow this afternoon was scary as it was still so windy and was therefore blizzard like.  Anyway, it's quietened down, so hopefully that's it for dramatic weather just now. So here is my final outfit from the weekend, well Monday, travelling home.  Comfort and something that would again work with my Santa heels.  Are you bored of them yet?  I'm not.  Plus, I've never mentioned my new hair colour yet! Yes, I'm purple now : )

Wearing:  Black tile print dress, leggings and stag ring Primark, cardigan Red Herring at Debenhams, fox ring Evans, nude quilted bag Love Moschino.
Fit: Small fitting, so I opted for the size up. 4 1/2" heel and small concealed platform.
Comfort: The lining of the shoes is a little scratchy after a long period, but no real issues with them.

Day 961 - I Leave My Heart Open But It Stays Right Here Empty For Days

Shoes: 'Dreamy' Santa heels Irregular Choice

Here is the evening outfit from Sunday, you can see my 'day look' here. I just realised other than on my Facebook page, I haven't really mentioned why I was in Glasgow in the first place. My sister got us tickets to see....5ive! Haha, we were big fans back in the day (and still are I suppose) and we had a meet and greet thing beforehand, so it was all good. I didn't update my makeup much, just freshened it up really. My sister had some sparkly stuff that I borrowed and little did I know that the cute wee puff contained soooo much glitter. I was careful too, but one puff and I was looking like the tin-man. Pretty sure they could see me shining from the moon! So apologies if my chest is overloaded with glitter-I think I managed to edit the majority of it out. This dress was a last minute decision. It doesn't crush easily and was fairly compact to take with me and I always feel comfortable in it. I decided on some star fishnets, working that Christmas theme with my Santa heels too. I was worried with tights on, that the shoes would feel a little big, but I definitely made the right decision to size up in them. I thought because they don't have a strap like my gnomes, that they'd perhaps slip off my heel when walking, but I had no issues with them.

Wearing: Gold star dress Pearl Lowe (Peacocks), cardigan Red Herring at Debenhams, star tights Primark, elephant belt ASOS, horse brooch gift, earrings Mawi, fox ring Evans, snake manicure ring New Look, midi ring my Grannys, rainbow horse ring The Jewellery Box.
Fit: Small fitting, so I opted for the size up. 4 1/2" heel and small concealed platform.
Comfort: The lining of the shoes is a little scratchy after a long period, but no real issues with them.

Day 960 - I Spend Her Love Until She's Broke Inside

Shoes: 'Dreamy' Santa heels Irregular Choice

So on Sunday, my l'il sis and I set sail for Glasgow. Well, not in a boat obviously! I was carrying my own luggage, so packing light! It was only one overnight, so how much crap do you really need for that, you know? I do have three outfits for you to see, which I've split into separate posts. My shoes yet again proved popular, I'm not sure if they were as talked about as my gnome heels when I hit Edinburgh. Perhaps I was just accustomed to the stares after that day! I wasn't even out of town though and one man came up and thanked me for wearing them as they were the first Christmassy thing he'd seen that actually got him excited for the big day (and this guy struck me as a bit of a Scrooge type)! Everyone knew they were Santa, nobody mistook him for a gnome or something else, so that was good. It wasn't all positive though, one large group of immature girls (and a boy) laughed very loudly and pointed (er hello, I'm right next to you and not deaf or blind, I can see and hear you making fun of me) and I got an "Oh my God, look at that girls shoes" definitely not said in a pleasant way. They shut up quick when I evil eyed them and I'll be the one laughing on Christmas day when Santa brings them NOTHING for poking fun at him and being so rude! I'd kinda like to know how many people snuck a photo of my shoes throughout the weekend...I was very aware of it at times. Not sure how that makes me feel, that random people have photos of my feet on their phone....slightly creepy. Anyway check back tomorrow for my 'evening' outfit.
