Hello Readers!!!

Hi! I feel like I'm breaking radio silence here, it's been soooo long!! So the day after my last post, I couldn't get my PC on in the morning at all. We took it to the shop and let's just say the boys there aren't the most speedy. They're nice, but you have to completely trust them when you don't know the ins and outs of computer technology. They're the types that say they'll treat it as urgent but in reality you have to chase them up and feel like you're hassling them. To cut a long story short, they decided it was the hard drive and we were to wait for a new one to be installed. I lost everything from it. I'm absolutely gutted. Obviously I'd managed to save the majority of my photos beforehand, but I didn't have enough space on my old portable hard drive or discs or memory sticks to backup the entire computer. It's the little things, like installing programs, internet favourites and all my music that will take forever to replace but are necessary to get my computer back to how it used to be.

So we got the computer back eventually and right enough it's back to basics (I think I secretly hoped some sort of memory would be restored even although I knew that was impossible given that it was a completely new hard drive). I checked my emails and did the basics on it that afternoon but to be honest I didn't want to be on it all, I was partly sulking that I'd lost everything and partly lost because I didn't have any pictures or links and was so out of my routine that I couldn't blog and didn't know what else to do. That evening the computer had gone to sleep and Dad woke it up only to find it was reacting exactly the same as it had previously (saying it hadn't shut down properly, did I want to repair it and restore it to a time when it worked properly?). By this point I was almost emotionless, I was past caring. It didn't feel like 'my' computer anyway, so what could I care if it didn't work or I went without it for another week?!

The next morning it didn't switch on at all, so we took it back to the shop and it turns out it's the fan. The bloody fan! See what I mean about having to trust that they know what they're doing? They put in a new one but something had melted without the fan working, so they're repairing that too. It's due back on Tuesday. What's really, really pissing me off at this point is that I probably lost that old hard drive for no reason. When you eventually got the computer to start up, all the information was there as normal, so the memory of that drive wasn't affected at all. I'm sure they've already disposed of it though which absolutely kills me. All my work lost for nothing-but nobody seems to realise how traumatic it is! I'm considering begging to see if they still have it on Tuesday (I could live without it for yet another week, if I knew I would get my "old" computer back)...Mum has mostly been dealing with them and she doesn't really understand the true extent of what's lost so isn't really fighting my corner. Oh, it just completely sucks and I'm exasperated by the whole event. I wish I could say I've been using this spare time productively but I've been pretty knackered health wise and struggling to find any motivation to do anything (probably a knock on effect from the computer woes). So we'll just have to leave it as 'we'll see' for now. Hopefully I should get the PC back next week and get it up and running as soon as possible.

Lots of love, Pink haired Princess x x x

Day Four Hundred & Fifty - Hello, It's Summer!

Shoes: Turquoise 'Margaux' wedges Terry De Havilland

This day was one of the hottest last week, was it Thursday? I decided even although I looked like a crap that I would venture out. Beforehand, I couldn't take the mess in my room a moment longer and proceeded to rearrange my wardrobe (not something to be done on an extremely hot day I realise, but hey when the moment takes you..!). I was boiled (only made worse by my spring clean) and why is it when you go outside, you always get even hotter and never quite cool down again? Anyway, as the majority of the UK savoured that one hot day (surely not our entire summer?), I realised something....I can't hack the hot weather. I really can't! I'm clearly a snow bunny, or at least I like sunshine in moderation; I just don't like frying or melting or sweating in it! I can't even dress for summer, as any big boobed girl will sympathise with, strappy dresses are the enemy. I don't want my thick, ugly bra straps showing, so it's a cardi for me, always (fyi sleeveless dresses always gape at the underarms on me because the dress has to be big enough to fit across the chest but is always too big for my thinner arms, so no luck with them either). Then there's the leggings, my absolute staple (seriously, what did I wear before leggings?), ok, so I could be pushed to 'get my legs out' but they hadn't been shaved for a fortnight, so leggings it was. This outfit in no way promotes the sunshine, it's what I would wear any other day-I'm hopeless! However isn't the print of this dress glorious?

Wearing: Strappy beach print dress (can you see all the little people?), black cardi and leggings, palm tree sunglasses (which I bought on my most recent trip-like I needed more!) and cameo scarf all Primark.
Fit: True to size, adjustable buckle. 5 1/2" wedge heel and 1 1/4" platform.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day Four Hundred & Forty Nine - Rock The Boat

Shoes: Pink triple bow platforms Matalan

Another outfit from last week, can't quite remember which day. It was pretty hot anyway considering the crap weather we've had lately. I think we maybe had our summer in April and that's us for the year! I continued the nautical theme with this beautiful boat print dress, had to have it the moment I saw that fabric! I can recall just flinging all this on and getting out for a walk before the weather had a chance to change!

Wearing: Blue boat print sundress, black leggings, cardi all Primark.
Fit: True to size, buckle fastening, heel almost 5" and 1" platform.
Comfort: No issues with these.

Day Four Hundred & Forty Eight - I Do Like To Be Beside...

Shoes: Teddy print gingham 'Love Games' Irregular Choice

You'll already have seen a sneak peek of this outfit if you saw my Kandee post the other day on Pink Haired Princess and the image has also been used this weekend on the Kandee Facebook pages (quite strange and funny to see yourself like that!). Anyway, I'm still catching up, so this is last Tuesday. It's the second time I've worn these shoes and the second time I've never worn them outside! We had family visiting and by the time I got myself dressed, there was no time to skip out on my walk, so it was an indoor only outfit (oh, other than the quick 'out in the back garden' photos)! Some would perhaps say I over accessorized, but 'more is always more' in my book and I just ran with the blue, seaside theme!

Wearing: Ok, boat cardigan Peacocks, blue gingham sundress George at Asda, leggings, boat print scarf in hair, starfish ring and sunglasses all Primark, snake/pearl ring and seagull brooch Miss Selfridge, spike ring ASOS, G whistle pendant Harajuku Lovers, phew!
Fit: Oh who knows? I have this exact same style in another print and I needed a size up, these are my regular size though and although tight, they do fit. 5" heel.
Comfort: Well I doubt they'd be overly comfy after a while, with a 5" heel and no platform, your foot is practically vertical!

Day Four Hundred & Forty Seven - Birthday Girl

Shoes: Black and white Teeze 20 booties Bordello

This outfit was my birthday outfit, on the 24th. The day was a bit of a disaster to say the least and although my sister and I popped out for ice-cream sundaes, it was a last minute rush (as were these pics). I had bought these shoes a short while back and was desperate to wear them and couldn't think of a more fitting day than my b'day to debut them! This dress is the same as the previous post but in a different print. As much as I love cherry prints, it's hard to work reds with my hair, so I tried not to emphasise it too much. The jewellery was also rushed, I probably would have picked something else for my other hand to compliment that amazing horse ring.

Wearing: Black cherry prom dress Red Herring (limited edition) at Debenhams, black leggings and cardi Primark, sunglasses ASOS, horse carousel necklace Accessorize, horse ring The Jewellery Box, birdcage ring Topshop, snake/pearl ring Miss Selfridge.
Fit: You need to size up on all Bordello Teeze. These are a US8. Inside zip. 6" heel and just over 1 1/2" platform.
Comfort: I find these really easy to walk in and quite comfortable. I can perhaps foresee problems at my ankle bone though as the shoe hits it in an awkward place.
