Day 953 - Fear Is Only in Our Minds

Second day running I'm dressed like I'm going to a Christmas party! Not that I have any parties to go to, so every day has to be one for me! These shoes are just too fabulous and there's so many bits and bobs on them to look at. I feel the metal heel sometimes goes unnoticed due to all the jewels and sequins surrounding. This dress is one of my most worn and I don't even remember being overly enamoured with it before it launched. However it's proved so versatile and you can wear all kinds of tights and shoes and boots with it, it's great. The light was playing havoc with my photo taking, as it has been all week. I kept getting a big vertical stripe of light down my middle in the full length shots. Like one of those 'slimming' dresses with the lighter coloured panels!

Fit: True to size, if anything, a little long. Heel 4 1/2".
Comfort: No issues.

Day 952 - The Lies I Weave Are Oh So Intricate

Shoes: Wine patent 'Active' Carvela at Kurt Geiger 

Wow, why don't I wear these shoes more often? They're stunning! Hmm, well there is the almost 6" heel and huge platform, not to mention the most fiddly darn buckles on the planet! Honestly took me nearly 15 minutes to buckle them! Despite the height though, you feel pretty safe in them and can walk fast enough. I was concentrating mind you and doing that 'please don't let me stand on a stray stone and topple' thing! They are such a gorgeous rich colour and just perfect with this dress. I think I normally wear a belt with this as it's quite loose fitting on me, but I didn't bother this time. I looked quite Granny-ish....if your Granny wears platforms! The lighting is a bit strange in the face shots below, was trying out a new space, but the light (sun) is either blinding or barely there.  Oh and the hairband, I just knew this would come to my rescue on a bad hair day and it did. It's sooooo pretty, definitely my new favourite thing.

Fit: A little snug, but stick to your usual size. Heel 5 3/4", platform 1 1/2". Adjustable buckle fastening. 
Comfort: They are high, so probably not for everyone but I didn't have any specific issues with them.

Day 951 - And Even Forever Don't Seem Like Long Enough

Shoes: 'Pat's Picnic' Irregular Choice

Hello! You haven't seen these shoes for a while have you? I was searching for more pairs to eBay last week and discovered these, so brought them into an easier to reach place, so I could wear them. I'm trying to bring the winter pairs forward and hide the jellies and sandals for now, but there's not much room and I daren't delve too deep and uncover 8 legged things! Shoe Mountain is looking a little steadier and safer now, although I did have one avalanche mid-sort. The only casualties were a couple of broken nails (did I really think my pinky finger was going to 'catch' 5 heavy toppling boxes?)! I've said it before, but I'll be so glad when I get my shoe room and all my pretties will be easy to access. Anyway, it's definitely winter feeling outside now, like super cold. So I'm most definitely in my coats and sometimes gloves and scarves, brrr.  In saying that, I've only been out a few times in the past fortnight, so wouldn't really know.  These shoes are just a little big and I think they'd be much comfier if they fit better, but I can tell my usual size would've been way too small. Half size would be perfect...isn't that always the way? Oh and the vest! How could I forget? I just loooove this image of Ariel, she's so vulnerable looking with those big eyes, she's just gorgeous. I'm clearly aiming for an entire little mermaid wardrobe if you hadn't already guessed.  My 'Monster High Monday' makeup look is back by the way, you can find it here (yep there's a reason for all that glitter).

Fit: Feel quite small, I took a size-up just to be sure. Heel just under 5 1/2" with a 2" platform.
Comfort: Easy to walk in, but not the most comfortable.

Day 950 - Summer Turned To Winter And The Snow It Turned To Rain

Ok, so here's the other dress I bought with my Ariel one...My Little Pony!!!! "Skinny and bony, made out of plastic, life is fantastic", sorry is it only me that still sings that, like 25 years on?! How freakin' fabulous is this dress anyway? I've drooled over the MLP stuff on Truffle Shuffle especially the dresses, but they only do small sizes and I knew they wouldn't fit. Then I stumble upon this one on Hot Topic and it's actually in a nice floaty fabric and a style I'd totally wear!! My only complaint is the square neckline is rather low once you've got it on (and especially when you're above your ample bosoms, looking down), so I added a little vest top underneath, which I needed for warmth anyway (wow when did winter hit)? I decided I may as well go all-out on girly stuff, although I did add some black leggings and a cardi, so I wasn't too twee! We went shopping this day (Wednesday) and I actually had an awesome time for once, probably because I hit the beauty counters and got spoiled (well I paid for it, so I spoiled myself) and I also got the flowery Primark dress I was after. So I can breathe until the next one comes out and I have to track that down!

Day 949 - Under The Sea We Off The Hook

I cannot wait to show you this outfit as I'm wearing an Ariel dress! Yes, The Little Mermaid on an adults dress, it's the best thing EVER!!  I had a hard time getting it as it's by American brand Hot Topic and so I trawled eBay one weekend and eventually found a few US sellers with them. Just as I totted up how much it would cost and who had my size, somebody else bought it. The only one left. I was gutted. The website had sold out of the biggest sizes too, so I thought all was lost. I began stalking the hell out of eBay and Hot Topic. Eventually, after it completely sold out, they restocked all sizes! Long story short I didn't delay and after a hefty customs charge and expensive delivery, it arrived and fits perfectly! I ordered another (gorgeous) dress with it and wanted tonnes of other things but knew customs/postage would be too much. It's worked out pretty expensive, but it's a Little Mermaid dress!!! Fit wise if anything it was slightly big, it's cosy as it's fully lined and it's super soft and comfy to wear. I love it!
