My only shoe buy from the IC summer sale and my third variation of this style (4th of the heel). Last week, I shared the very beautiful Ava's Aviary birdcage heels from several years back. The dice heel was first introduced in August 2015, with Poker Joker in two colourways (I bought the sequins ones). Then three sequins PJ's launched as part of the Bring Back collections in 2021, with a further two pairs released earlier this year. You may remember I bought a pair, but I was holding out for these ones to go into the sale. I initially thought the two patterns were quite similar, but they're actually really different. My other pair were more of an abstract design in cool blues, pink and gold with this pair being a smaller checkerboard pattern in black with much brighter alternate squares. The sequins is the type you can flip, but the colour remains the same on both sides, but it gives a more textural effect than when sewn flat. The dots on the dice on this pair are green, my originals more of a turquoise, the last boots, blue, along with my shoes, Take A Chance. The lining is the red and blue velvet that I've given up on trying to associate with a season as it's been around for many collections (supposed to be AW21).
Size wise they fit exactly like the last pair, true to size in my usual size 5/38 (but bear in mind I sized up in the AW15 ones). There's no fastenings other than the wide satin ribbon lacing up the front. Against the rough sequins it's quite hard to tie it tightly without snagging, so be mindful of that. I find this heel really comfortable and there's no rubbing around the top, though it would be hard to tell as I was wearing socks as well as tights. I'm really glad I got these and for the price I did. They've been one of the very few styles I've liked recently.
Wearing: [affiliate links] Black lace frill ankle socks, ASOS (old, similar here), black fishnet tights, New Look (old, similar here).
Fit: 4" heel, no platform. Ribbon tie front. True to size in my usual size (my original pair are a size larger).
