Day 1053 - Shoesday Tuesday

Shoes:  Irregular Choice Rudy Rudolph Santa heels

Hello, I'm back!! I'd been busy over Christmas (well in my world, not the real one) and then my mood just plummeted come New Year. Several 'triggers' but most unlike me and I really wasn't sure whether to address it on the blog, fake it and pretend everything was rosy, just ignore it and continue blogging or take a little breather. There's such a difference today though, I feel a million times better mentally (though totally knackered physically), so I was keen to get back into my routine and pick up with Shoesday Tuesday. Happy New Year first of all!!
So this look was from Christmas Day and for once I had no outfit planned. Well I did and it fell through at the last gasp. I'd bought the Lindy Bop 'Alpine' print twin-set. I really wanted the collared dress, but it had gone in my size by the time I had some money, so twin set it was. It's beautiful in the flesh and ridiculously neat at the waist (like it was tailored for me), but as usual my top half was too abundant! I'd thought of wearing it with a cardigan buttoned up over the top (so using at is a skirt really), but see when you put the jacket on with the dress...magic happens! My family all gasped out loud at how lovely it was, so it would seem like a waste to never wear it. I felt choked in the jacket and realistically couldn't breathe in the dress (the jacket would've been too large in the size up), so I returned it. I stalk it every day but am running out of hope of ever catching a return. I'd already bought this Hell Bunny 'Noelle' cardigan (right away because I was adamant I wouldn't let that adorable deer slip through my fingers, naturally it's still left in my size and now discounted, but hey ho), but had nothing to wear it with. I intended to buy the matching dress, but never found it for a price I liked and I might just have looked like a big marshmallow in it. So I reached for my old faithful, the original "ASOS wiggle dress". We weren't going anywhere and I didn't have long to get ready nor the energy, so it was a little uninspired. I've said it before, but I'm living in comfortable jammies, so wearing real clothes and especially a bra, is bordering on torture these days. I just feel so uncomfortable and restricted, but am too exhausted to try on more than one outfit (and after 2 years, have no clue what still fits). My adorable shoes added some festive cheer though. It's Christmas, how could I not wear Rudolph? I'd been kicking myself at sizing up because they gape at the sides and feel quite large, however after sitting in them most of the day, I felt they weren't too bad. My toes felt like they were touching the top, so maybe my usual size would've been too small. So to sum up, my outfit was actually made up of some of my favourite pieces, old and new, thrown together and a pity it was uncomfortable. Oh well I survived to tell the tale. What did you wear over Christmas?

Wearing:  Blue Hell Bunny 'Noelle' cardigan (for reference I bought a size 20/XXXL and it's very short (just the style of it) and does button up, but I think next time I'd size up) and ASOS floral wiggle dress (from the main range, size 18).
Fit:  4 1/2" heel and 1" concealed platform. Wide fitting, I sized up, but they are quite roomy.
Comfort:  No issues with these.

  1. That cardigan is so pretty, I had added it to my Christmas list but received other things instead. I'm tempted to spend one of my vouchers on it, if I can still find it in my size.
